Start slow. Mainting proper posture is more important than going super fast

Keep your head above your (relaxed) shoulders

Look ahead

Don't forget to move your arms(at a 90 degree angle)

Rock your elbows back as you do so

Slightly engage your core

Foot strike doesn't really matter as long
as you land your feet right under your center of gravity

Try to make it fun and not a punishment for your self-perceived inadequacies

Lol.

My form while running must be abysmal. And I do cycle sometimes, but never had any bad pain whatsoever

I encourage any children reading this thread to observe a nursing home facility, watching elderly humans live their last days of life.
Watch how they cannot walk, cannot stand, they cannot even sit-up in bed because of how weak their abdomen is and how their grip cannot even stay closed if pulling themselves against the bedrailing.

You might change your mind about participating in body-strengthening exercises.
You'll probably be able to infer why human societies associate "elderly" and "fat" with "slovenly" and "filthy" and a complete physical drain.

Just make sure you're set up proper so you don't give yourself ED.

This. Running is like 50% mental, the first 10-20 minutes always suck for me but once I break that mental barrier I get lost in the sauce and can run for much longer.

It's all in your head.
