Years is 4026 and humanity has finally cracked the keys to FTL technology and has started to push out to the galaxy.
You are part of Pathfinder corps, a human paramilitary space exploration initiative. It's your job to find, explore, research and catalogue potential colonial worlds for humanity.

The latest planet your company has landed on has proven it self to be a quite troublesome. You have been on this planet only a few weeks and half of your company has already fallen prey to local mega flora and fauna.
The planet is extraordinarily bio diverse. innumerous of types of giant carnivorous plants, amphibious life like toads and lizards, giant snail like mollusks and gastropods, colossal barnacle type arthropods. Forests filled with massive snakes and insects.
Only common thread with this planets flora and fauna is that it's like it is purpose designed to hunt and devour human sized prey.

You got eaten yesterday for the first time by a large worm hiding in small cave crevice. It snatched you before you even had time to scream and reeled you in where it slowly swallowed you. This planet is full of impossibly good ambush predators, you didn't even see it on your scanners when you were looking for life forms.

Good thing that humans have cracked science behind sentience and souls and you were resurrected into your backup body within a day. Now you just have to write a report on that damned worm, probably needs a second scouting into that cave to fill out all the details.

Captain has been thinking about sending the scouts into the jungle naked because it's cheaper to keep cloning you rather than replace all the expensive equipment every time you get eaten.
Anyways the Captain has already send message back to earth that cataloging all the life forms on this planet might take years if not a decade, but it's too late to backout now, you signed up for this and you can't go home until the job is done. Happy scouting.
