Obviously, it wont impress anyone with its writing or even its animation. But, I think its still a decently fun show with a good bit of charm. I actually think season 3 is a bit over-hated, I liked the more overtly sci-fi and space faring route they took the show in. Also, Galvatron is one of the funniest villains in any piece of media ever.

Season 2 and 3 were the best and season 3 had some good child friendly star trek plots. The weird episodes that don't try to be super hero shit or like the movie are actually the best ones. Like the one where cobra sells a crime boss a device to suck the sparks out of cybertronian bodies and put them in human forms, then hot rod fucks the crime boss's wife and they get the bodies back by springer pretending to be a forklift operator. Or the episode where cyclonus commits galvatron to a mental facility. Transformers also had the balls to criticize wealth and power on several occasions. People forget that the Hive in season 4 was essentially the lazy people from Wall-E. They automated so much stuff they no longer needed to leave their chairs and were almost nonfunctioning until they got headmaster technology that let them walk around again. Cartoons are too chicken shit to do any of this now.I mean shit, in prime target, prime takes on a ultra wealthy big game hunter who captures autobots and puts them in death machines. He ends up strapping him to a mig and leaving his ass outside a Russian military base.
