So did you save some old web comics before they died?

What are some dead webcomics that you wish you saved or even forgot their URL?

Daily reminder that most of these things(webcomic list) are not even saved on the way back machine.

Imagine people sacrificing their lives to make these things and now nothing is left of it all. Other then this one banner on this list website that points to literally unrecoverable nothingness now.

Did anyone try to make an archive of these comics?
    General melancholy and regrets thread.

    What a sensation.
    All these works lost forever.
Years of people lives dedicated to make their comics.
You think you can read them in the future even if they got interrupted. Because this is the future.

however NOPE all of it vanished the website https://www.thewebcomiclist.com/ is like a fucken graveyard.
The comics I wanted to check out are not even saved on the way back machine or they are so broken that you get only text and the picture missing symbols everywhere.

    All of it vanished forever!
And I remember saving some comics as I did read them some of them where genuinely interesting and did have these epic openings and narratives.

I saved some however this was before I developed a proper way to even name these things. Or keep up if they are posted on 3 different websites at the same time.

I probably have some saved on my super old windows XP hard drive if it is not dead now.

All of it turned into nothingness.
    WOW.

I have all of Shmorky's keenspace comics (aside from a few Purple Pussy pages) saved. For some reason, out of all the content he's produced, the keenspace shit has been entirely scrubbed (websites taken down, takedown-requests on archives, etc)

Sounds like some author being a cunt. Most of the stuff I have tried to see died naturally the last saved page(NO pictures only TXT) did say the web comics is on pause because of family problems. Then the website died.

I was thinking I can go and read all that cool stuff people made in the 2000s since I can use the way back machine. I remember saving some stupid edgy web comic using the way back machine. The name is Jack and it is basically what is jason voorhees or the protagonist from the slaughter house games (because he looks like one) where a gigantic crybaby with trauma because people hunt him down and lynched him or something and he is now doing some stupid edgy shit and collecting body parts or corpses for some guy and there is a anthro alligator undead guy who has secrets in his basement and then the comic died.

Funny thing is I can not find that comic even on the https://www.thewebcomiclist.com/ list even if I use the way back machine. Strange since most links are dead on it either way and it sohuld have it from 2007 or whatever.

I remember making folders with their names(gets problematic if it is hosted on multiple websites at the same time) ultra problematic if there are 2 comics with the same name.

Never really figured out a way to save all of them for good. I started using like a website saving program and let it run to save the whole website (most of the authors give file names who are literally the time stamp so you can read it this way)

    >Always have trouble remembering that name.
It helps if you look into your folder for that.

Many webcomics' art styles were inspired by manga like Ranma, Slayers, Outlaw Star, but how come nobody ever managed to even remotely live up to their inspiration sources?

I get the feeling that webcomics as a whole died out because they developed a reputation of being so amateur that it was too cringe to even try making one.
Why did nobody ever manage to make anything good? They had access to all the resources they needed, they had the tools, they had the free time and the passion, but all of them were just hopelessly amateurish.

I don't mean to make this an east vs west thing, I just mean to point out that they were clearly inspired by art that was good, many of them even mimicked the style as best they could. Many of them put out thousands of drawings, but they never even remotely managed to break out of the stereotype of poorly drawn webcomics. It's weird that I can't find a single example
    >>
    >>156131470
It is an east and west thing, it is about asian jeans. Westoids are afraid to feel and shield themselves with layers of irony, or are unfeeling robots who only churn out clunky capeshit or the oh so silly europoor satire.
Eastasians and numerous latinx know that passionate art requires dick in one hand and pen in the other.

    >>156131601
I don't believe that, they're not that dense.

Perhaps the influence of the other major source of webcomic inspiration, the newspaper strip is the issue.
Pic related is all newspaper strip and bears no resemblence to manga.
As much as I don't really have a problem with newspaper strips, they really just don't interest me when compared with an actual comic or manga that tells a proper story.
But also they really don't put any effort into the art. They're characterised by sloppy drawings that are repeated so thoughtlessly over so many years that they devolve from being anything real and just become a proscribed series of lines that the artist could do blindfolded.
There's no variation to the panel shapes, the camera angle, it's totally barren of artistry
    >>
    >>156131470
    >to even remotely live up to their inspiration sources?
Is this a thing I need to answer?
Is this seriously a subject you need to have explained to you?

    >to even
Ever heard "Beggars can't be choosers”?
Is this dawning on you now?

    >to even
Because these are things made for free for you to read while the other requires you to pay money.
    Are you beginning to understand?

    >to even
Lets see one is made by a mangaka who spends all his work time drawing it and this is his income while the other is made by some guy who needs to have a job and spends his free time drawing this comic also. He spends his time and money making this crap while the other is a source of income for the artist.

    Getting it now?

    >I don't mean to make this an east vs west thing
    It never was see above.

    > so amateur
Yea LOL. How can someone be so clueless like (YOU)!
Because people making webcomics ARE AMATEURS!

This is sensuously a conversation we are having right now!

    >> so amateur
I see you have never drawn a comic in your life. People do these things often to get better or set a goal for themselves. Most of the time they never improve because they never studied and have no professional training or schooling, their studding involves them reading other manga or comics and trying to copy the art style.

    >as a whole died out because
Now you pissed me off to the extreme. They never died out because people never made money of them and will continue to make them to shout into the void with their ideas. The artists never needed up votes or likes or money from their audience to make their comics and they never will.

What has happened is that webcomics are far less popular mostly because zoomers are fucken retarded trash and get more excited by some fagot going on stream literally doing nothing of interest and every 0.33 seconds interrupting what he is doing to shout
    >THANKS FOR THE DONATION COCK SUCKER 1488! THANKS FOR THE $2!

And it is not like most of these streamers like pew die pie do anything of interest. Did you even watch pie die pie once in your life? I did 2 times and both times I wanted to skin myself alive how fucken pointless his existence is.

These influencers produce nothing of value at best they literally STEAL(correct word) other peoples content. Imagine making a funny animation with great jokes and animation it all with music and sound effects and this takes you 159 days to finish a 4 minute video. Now you get almost no recognition for this because of the algorithm.

Then pie die pie or any other of these shits finds your video and decides to include it in his compilation or daily stream or whatever.
    He plays it in full!
Laugh to it and moves on. Him clicking the play button and plastering his face to the video is not work. And now millions of zoomers will be excited because they did see a funny video with daddy piew die pie!

    2/7
    >>
    >>156131470
    >>156132369

And this is the best scenario at worse these fagots literally play videos from the internet while saying nothing and having their face in front of the camera. The most bullshit thing is that they will then make the video worse by saying pointless things like
    >Aha
    >Yea
    >I can see that
And they admit it is pointless and only exists to make YT not get triggered that they play 100% of a uninterrupted video.

Want to know the secret to why piew die pie was #1 for so long? Because he uploaded a new video every day for 1 year non stop every day. And back in the day the algorithm rewarded that. So talented people who put days of work to make even 1minute of animation get FUCKED and can not compete to some zero talent face plastering streamer!

I want to skin alive every single one of these face plastering fucks because all of them are literally empty shells(imagine posting a video every day and imagine you will not get burned out!) who are a blight on humanity and their only reason for fame is them stealing other peoples content be it videos or pictures or comics.

I despise them like nothing on this world and they are the reason why YT has gone to shit now.

As for web comics they where the perfect technology for the 2000s internet speeds where not so fast however fast enough to serve you a PNG/JPG or GIF of 1 page of a webcomic. I even remember the debate if to use PNG or GIF for STATIC PAGES because what produces a smaller file size especially for black and white comics!

I remember the page loading in as I looked.

I remember feeling proud that I discovered a trick where I can middle click next page and using tabs basically have a buffer of pages so I can read the comic non stop.

    >>156131470

    These where the days!
Also web comics not being optimized or planed for iphones was a problem. So a combination of retards and zoomers getting basically baited into retarded platforms ruled by insane algorithms + technological changes(internet on the iphone) + faster internet did contribute to their decline.

Also I do not think you zoomers understand how web comics are.
You discover a webcomic and then you start reading from the start, you consume multiple chapters and get interested in the story.

And then you arrive at the end of the comic. Seeing 1 new page can take more then 10 days and then you probably have forgotten what the last page was all about so after I did this I moved to the next web comic and only the next year decided to go
    >OH YEA that one web comic!
    >Lets see if a new chapter dropped!

I actually never liked reading web comics page by page over multiple days. Unless your comic is a comedy one and the story is contained in 1 page.

Also going back to the platforms it is unreal that you can make a webcomic for years that no one notices and then some fagot sees 1 panel who is funny takes it and posts it on Reddit and gets more upvotes then you got views on your website for 5 years.
Or how about someone makes it into a YT short and gets views and money for it?
Or some streamer shit plasters his face and le reacts to it and gets views.

If you tried the face plastering in 2003 all everyone will see is a blurry pixelated crap on YT nothing more.

As for me webcomics always did provide a far more edgy and mature content to manga or western comics and the story was more important. And the artists having problems drawing like in your top picture is not a problem if the story holds up. For a contrast DC and Marvel are made for 8 year olds, batman literally can not say a curse word without it getting interrupted or censored in some way. And batman was fucking catwoman how many times at this point? And literally no one can show her sucking his dicks in a non censored way? Like they can nto show normal sex and only do this censored Hollywood shit?

In contrast the webcomic curvy includes sex, it is not a porn comic however it includes sex as a integral part of the story and plot and it is actually shown unlike in batman. However it is somewhat strange since it looks like these cartoon doll characters who have sex, not really porn however sexual and porn. Another example (WHO I CAN NOT NAME!) is basically this edgy parody comic who also has sex(thing mad magazine) however the characters in it and the sex in it are these cartoon doll characters however them fucking looks degenerate and sexy at the same time, it is weird like how aliens would see human sex. Very strange experience.

And if you are interested it is basically your standard MAD/Robot chicken edgy comedy.
    >Oh yea I will revenge fuck her!
And you see these edgy dysfunctional characters who actually have sex and it looks weird and also sexual at the same time. Like 1 girl decides to fuck her way to get better grades and she does it and you see it and she is also revolted by it however she is happy to win and she kind of likes getting fucked. Like I was saying a edgy dysfunctional character.

Web comics open so many possibilities that are not seen in traditional comics by having no restrictions on sex and gore.

No problem. I was only very confused why this exists here.

I like to know what webcomic that is however!
    Looks interesting.

Not only do I see no resemblance there it is closer to power puff girls if you increased power puff girls 350% closer to humans and did give them anime hair and anime eyes.

What really did give me a twist was how the manga drawing looks crap. Like someone scratched paper with a pen to fart this out while the line work is really incredibly in that webcomic. I mean you can point to anime and manga influences especially the hair and eyes however it really looks great and so different to that manga guys face.

    I bring up one.
I did read it however I can not find it anymore.
I do not even remember his name.

All I know is the plot and basically me laughing at the edgy absurdity of it all.

Basically some mad max wetland and some redneck raiders hunt some protagonist guy on Hummers (or cars like that) and they capture him.

Then they throw him into a cage with some 30 year old woman and he is like
    >I'm still fertile
    bla bla bla
And the shocking reveal was they want the guy to fuck her and get her pregnant and after she gives birth to her child everyone including the woman will eat the baby. Because there is no food in this wasteland and they are farming humans.

All I remember is laughing how absurd it is to do this because you wast more energy on the pregnant woman then you ever get back from eating the child.

I love to read it agein or see more of it. It is peak so edgy it is comical. If anyone knows this one tell me I remember reading it like in 2005-2009
