You either get an Adventure Time or Regular Show that goes on for 6+ Seasons with spinoff shows and movies after the main series, or you get Inside Job and Midnight Gospel where they only get one or two seasons before getting canned.

Why is there no in between? They either become a show that gets popular and gets content after or they get dumped and forgotten.

The 8 episode one decides it wants to be a long-ass movie instead of independent stories. These get shitcanned because they are not rerunnable, and only terminally online adults watch them.
