Didio shouldn't have pitched the All-Star books as iconic and definitive takes on the characters, then. And we were all looking at it through the lens of Miller's last Batman book, DK2, with his freaky evil stalker Robin and his OOC madness.

You're able to look back at the series as a whole, but you're criticizing the response we had on those first few issues. They spent 4 issues in a fucking car, and it's just mouthy Dick Grayson and this unhinged abusive Batman. I didn't see it as a parody till issue 5. Out of the way sperm bank, etc.
