>There are actually people out there who think storyboard driven cartoons started in the 2010s What other common /co/ misconceptions have you noticed?
>>156096655>3DCG is cheaper than hand drawn>3DCG is faster than hand drawn>3DCG is easier than hand drawn>3DCG animators aren't unionized like hand drawn
>>156096655I've seen people unironically call smiling friends an indie show despite being owned and bankrolled by the fucking WB
>you have to lick your finger to turn the page
>>156096833I finger my butt before turning the pageHas the same effect
>>156096655>There are actually people out there who think storyboard driven cartoons started in the 2010sI unironically believe that 2010s cartoon network has ruined the reputation of a lot of things>Soured people on board driven cartoons>Oversaturated the TV-PG rating even for shows that didn't deserve it>Used the beanmouth style so much that it made a mockery of a once respected school. People won't believe me but Calarts was once considered the best animation school to go to in America. Lots of veteran animators came from there, especially old Disney ones
>>156096655people don't know that for storyboard driven cartoons the storyboard artists are working off of outlines from Actual Writersan adjacent mistake that I haven't seen on /co/ itself is people who don't realize that script driven cartoons also have storyboards
>>156096655guess the show by the credits!>co-executive producer>supervising producer>producer>story by (one writer who did half the series, who had zero industry experience beforehand)>teleplay by>directed by>producer>line producer>casting and voice direction>voices>consulting producer Jules Bass>based on>theme song by & performed by>4 assistant production managers>character design, lead prop design, 2 prop designers, and 2 color designers on on page>1 lead background design, 2 background designers, 3 background painters on one page>2 storyboard artists and 2 storyboard revisionists>editor>3 animation timers, 1 animation checker (was this xerox?), 1 FX animator>the entire crew of SMIP>7 lawyers, 9 production supports, 4 accountants, 1 casting administrator, 1 rights admin, 1 production admin>2 production execs at CN>1 production supervisor>1 production manager>1 executive IN CHARGE OF production at CN>sam register
>>156097953this is my new hobby, looking at the credits of cartoons. Look at middlemost post for example>1 board artist>1 prop designer>1 non-union freelance board artist "special thanks"vs>4 Archivists>3 Casting Managers>1 Casting Director>1 Casting Associate>1 Casting Assistant>1 Voice Coordinator>1 Voice Assistant>7 recording engineers>3 dialogue editors>4 vice presidents
>>156096880>Calarts was once considered the best animation school to go to in AmericaHonestly if chicks like the one who regressed her art to SU-looking Cap porn came from there I wouldn't trust it neither,
