What's /co/'s opinion on Superman clones? Superman being a bit of a Swiss Army Hero who has access to multiple abilities that most heroes only have one of makes him a rather popular character to rip off.
>>156093905>What's /co/'s opinion on Superman clones?FUCKING STOP. I don't even care if you think you have something new to say, just fuck off already. Oh my god.
>>156094005You must have me confused with a different annoying anon. kek
>>156094005fpbpOP, the way to fit in is to lurk before poasting preferably for over a month and we used to tell people to lurk for an entire year
>>156094051Yeah, no. I'm getting too old myself to care about "lurking moar" and displaying any sort of oldfag status. I don't know exactly why you guys are getting so offended over this, but I apologize if it's causing you some inconvenience, I'm just asking a simple question.
>>156094024No, I was answering your question. My opinion on Superman clones is "Oh my god, fucking ENOUGH already.". Sorry I didn't make that clear.
>>156094231Oh okay, lol
God there's so many of them
>>156094580Retard who made this image forget the greatest one
>>156094611There's dozens besides the ones in that pic.>>156093905>Superman being a bit of a Swiss Army Hero who has access to multiple abilitiesAt one time or another, Superman has had ALL the abilities. Shape-changing, mind-control, you name it.
Stretches out into video games too, although this one is an indie game
>>156094005>>156094051Are you retards just waiting for people to post topics you don't like? The board is full of shit threads. Get off your worthless asses and post something.
>>156094751The first anon's post is guaranteed to cause some confusion, but he made a follow up >>156094231
>>156093905I like the Alan Moore variations on Superman.
And then you have all those female variants too
>>156093905Not enough Superman clones really go to the effort of remembering that Superman is meant to be super-intelligent, alien, and has a bunch of powers outside of just the recognizable ones. Dr Manhattan is a good example of a Superman clones because he's got the super-autism and the super-powers. Worm did it pretty well too with splitting up Superman into several characters but specifically Scion (what if Superman was truly alien in terms of psyche) and then giving Alexandria the super-deduction skills while Hero got the engineering stuff and Eidolon got the "fuck you new powers".I wonder if there's a Superman clone who's super-intelligent but truly alien in terms of thinking.
Literal clone
>>156093905I'm sick of flying bricks
>>156093905i think apollo is the only one i can sort of enjoy because hes fucking useless without the sun, and just a human(post human)
>>156094580Gladiator is kino
>>156097107get some window plates.
>>156097113No, not really.
>>156093905I don't mind them, but I don't really like them either. I understand the idea of using Superman's powerset as an easy template/jumping off point for certain characters, but I wish writers were a little more imaginative with their choices. I don't necessarily care if they're more imaginative, just pick from a wider pool that would still fit the story, especially if they're going to be "what if hero, but evil/selfish/lazy/ect". Darker takes on Flash, Green Lantern or even Plastic Man would be more fun than Superman by now.
>>156093905>What's /co/'s opinion on Superman clones?they a'ight
And there's the ones who become villains
>>156093905Market pliers?
Omni man is not a superman clone, he’s a Zod clone
>>156101235He is both
>>156101235MAWS Superman probably mirrors Mark now that I think about it
I like scion
>>156093905Make a flying brick hero and everyone calls it a Superman clone. Make a flying brick villain and everyone calls it an evil Superman clone. Superman has been so iconic that he has cornered the archetype.
I guess Saitama is sort of a Superman clone
>>156099678For the longest time I thought his name was 'Titan'
>>156103703It kinda is
>>156103703That name was already a trademark
>>156093905Better than the original.
>>156093905They’re trash.Unless they’re a parody,like the OP’s post.
>>156097991That's a good point. Flash in particular would be a frightening concept.
>>156106841What about Reverse Flash?
>>156108258Well yeah but that's in relation to Flash. Would be interesting to see an Invincible style story where you have a Flash type character as basis.Honestly that Kingdom Come sequence showing Flash as basically just exisiting everywhere in Central City does keeping it safe is incredibly scary. Can't jerk off without Flash seeing you.
I almost forgot about Hancock
>>156103703Its a pune, or play on words
>>156109177i love this movie, i even loved the idea that they where once gods and got cursed or whatever so they stay apart.
Does this need an update?
>>156109177Both Hancock and Chronicle do a good job of showing what it's like to give super powers to people who don't initially behave like your typical moralistic super hero or evil super villain, opting to instead have them experience some of the more mundane and often harsh realities of being an ordinary human.
>>156095721>Manhattan>Superman cloneOh fuck off with this TV Tropes ass logic, he is just Moore saying that godlike power deprives people of their humanity (and Manhattan's character is about becoming human again or something like that, Doomsday clock shat the bed with him)Also isn't Scion just a human infested with some parasite?
>>156093905Superman is such an icon that he's basically become a blank template to put whatever message you want, hell I'd say he is synonymous with any character after him that has a capeHonestly, I gotta ask myself, what Superman can't be?a well written villain probably
>>156094231Ok then I fucked up here and ask your forgiveness.
>>156094611Forgetting the greats so quickly
>>156102718Saitama is literally a parody of Anpanman, a show for 4 year olds. Note how his costume is a palette swap.
>>156097991>Darker takes on FlashYou mean like Professor Zoom? Reverse-Flash? Inertia?
>>156095721>Dr Manhattan is a good example of a Superman clonesHE'S CAPTAIN ATOM YOU RETARD
>>156103703it's what Megamind named him but he's such a boob he thought it was Tighten
And you got this old classic, Underdog
>>156093905Boring
>>156093905Better than the original
>>156111065I meant homages in stories outside DC, like the glut of Superman pastiches out there.
>>156110713>or something like that
>>156094644>There's dozens besides the ones in that pic.to put it mildly.
>>156094644Seems like Superman's been everything but omnipotent
>>156111056That's definitely older than me, it's been around since 1973
The Greatest
>>156117617Might as well count Major Glory too, though he's also parodying Captain America
>>156103703>ThatsTheJoke.png
>>156112870Wrong.
>>156109177Supercuck the movie
>>156119361Reflects real life, lol. Though an interracial romance probably would have stirred some shit up anyway.
>>156103703Megamind named him Titan, but the guy is so retarded he thought he was named Tighten, that's intentional
>>156115555So much airhumping...
>>156093905>What's /co/'s opinion on Superman clones?Depends on whether the writer is skilled and actually has something meaningful to say (Alan Moore on Supreme) or is a hack with shallow ideas (Invincible).
