It may not be the marriage yet, but OMD is officially undone.(Source: Cap America #17)

Nothing's gonna happenYou're falling for it again
>peter and MJ don't do anything and have to be hard carried in an eventNow compare this to Wally and Linda, whose love was so pure it actually hurt the devil to hold it, and begged to give it back.
>>156084375I GOT KEYS THAT JINGLE JANGLE JINGLE
>>156084472They dont believe Peter and MJ are right for each other and dont actually love each other. Current mj is written with paul being the more significant relationship.
>>156084799MJ has likely canonically had sex with Paul the most out of any partner.
>>156084799Hilarious how shocked Marvel was that people sided with Peter over a rapist like Paul as MJ’s true love
>>156084226The entire premise of the overarching story of Spider-Man is ridiculous. It's so absurd that only an insane person would take it seriously. They should reboot Spider-Man, and I mean REALLY reboot it. No in-universe lore explanation. I mean totally retcon everything that's happened, don't acknowledge it, just throw it all in the trash and start again.Clones? deals with the devil? Mary Jane as Venom? It's nothing but a mistake. The whole thing is soo bad it should just be forgotten, like it never happened.Write a proper story for Spider-Man.
>>156084808Doesn't seem like they had much sex.
>>156084226Ah, but he said inhabitants. That doesn't necessarily apply to concepts or assets, I promise you that is how they will walk this back.
>>156084799And that is precisely why it everything about Paul needs to be retcon.
>>156084987It would be interesting if they just Flashpoint everything away using the avengers event. No it doesn't have anyone take real accountability, terms or speak honestly about Paul the world killer and breaker of spirits, but it's as close to fixing as they can get without actual guts.
Quesada himself wrote in OMIT that the deal itself never actually happened in the current timeline.
>>156085902Anon, it happened. The comic 616 spiderman IP has been perhaps permanently ruined because of it. He got his cheap pop for quick sales. I don't know what he thought he was doing. I have an idea and if it's correct I can understand it. But I know I'm giving him far too much credit and he's probably too egotistical and up his own ass to know how badly he fucked up.He wants his and his cronies fingerprint left on the spiderman mythos, even if it kills it.
>>156084799Didn't she dump him and then Paul died?
>>156085949There was a long five part interview with cbr where he explained the process and why he felt it had to be done, you can start here https://www.cbr.com/the-one-more-day-interviews-with-joe-quesada-pt-1-of-5/
>>156084799Is that why we have anons shilling MCU synergy in every SM related thread
>>156086036I just skimmed a few paragraphs. It was a cheap move to revitalize it and turn spiderman into a fantasy version that never existed outside of their hack minds. A total destruction of the character that two generations grew up with in a way that ruined the very premise of the fucking character for everyone who read him. And he claimed it was going to bring in more soap opera drama....but wouldn't do a fucking divorce which is pure soap opera drama, something the child teen and young adult audience all know...would have been a massive brilliant move that would also tie into his want to continue being spiderman....because it fucking ages him.The article is a cheap pr piece to cover their ass. It was a piss poor decision and I was correct in my judgement. Giving him the benefit of the doubt was a poor decision on my part. I guess we have something in common.
>>156086019No, Paul dumped her, faked his death and retired to sunny Acapulco with the life insurance money.
>>156084799Paul’s dead and memory-holed.
>>156086149Paul was so shit that editorial finally blinked and decided to pull the plug on One More Day.
>>156086138We don't even have soap opera drama because Peter isn't allowed to show emotion or investment in anything that isn't to do with Aunt May, he's infantalized and regressed worse than those few highschool issues. And MJ is just a veering confused schizo of motivations wanting in and out of superhero life, and catch-phrases from a bygone era where she talked differently than what she does now.
>>156086187Just hard reboot the whole series and introduce a looping simulated life element similar to Dark City and The Truman Show
>>156086138>I just skimmed a few paragraphs. So you didn't read it and came to your own incorrect conclusions, all right.
>>156084226Imagine if this happened back when people still cared about marvel
>>156086216I'm constantly baffled trying to wrap my head around OMD, how you have this ideal of a single swinging Peter and you believe that's the evergreen you want or at least that's what everyone inhouse wants to write right now so you claim, and you go about getting to it in the most insulting, catastrophic way possible. Salting the earth and ensuring only bad reception for your vision. You could have started a new ongoing. You could have just done a few flashback arcs for BND. You could have just bookended that run of ASM with a 'finish' for 616 Peter, and then the Watcher moves to start looking at 616-A. Instead we get a half-part stall where the Hero and Heroine have sold their love and unborn child to the devil, their souls are canonically screaming in every page since, and we're expected to be fine seeing them with other people with both this cosmic crime referenced and reconciliation continuously baited.
>>156086221Since you obviously read it thorougly, could you point to a few paragraphs that proves I'm wrong?>>156086187Let's be honest. They want to reset him to an era they hazily remember from early 60's spiderman but not do the legwork in building a new cast/changing the current cast or even know WHY it worked back then. They wanted a fanfiction version of him and burned the entire damned world down so they could use the ashes to remold it into this current nonsense. Everything after the shit OMD thing was them throwing what they thought spiderman was at us, no one buying it, and them being too stubborn to change it back because they thought it would just be another thing people move on from in comics. As if Spiderman was some D lister they could pull the most heinous retarded story ideas with casually without fully considering what it would do to their most valuable and marketable IP. It was wreckless and irresponsible
>>156086324>It was wreckless and irresponsibleYou have people like Slott long at the helm, who think Peters too big to fail so you can do whatever.Just this same group in charge or tapped to write, with no changeover, for decades.
>>156086461Zeb genuinely flew too close to the sun. Slott was willing to dutifully plod along with sheer adequacy, but Zeb got too arrogant
>>156086522Zeb's run is what comic historians are going to think of when they summarise the BND era. That was the capstone that summed it all up and rolled up the carpet of audience patience.Granted he might have taken MJ's character in 616 down with the ship, we'll see if some future writer can retcon some lifeboats and patch a few holes to rescue her from Rabin hell.
>>156086160watch him be referenced in the mini.
>>156086663If that happens in anyway that isn't a Gail level potshot, it's another female writer for the cornfield Spoffice has sacrificed.
>>156086324>So, the way I see it, there are two sides of the argument, two segments of fans. On one side, there is a contingency of fandom that wants Peter to age along with them and live life as they do. He needs to get married, have kids, then grandkids, and then the inevitable. One the other side, there are fans that realize Spidey needs to be ready for the next wave or generation of readers, that no one can lay claim to these icons, no one generation has ownership and that we need to preserve them and keep them healthy for the next batch of readers to fall in love with.>To me, only one side of this argument is correct. If Spidey grows old and dies off with our readership, then that's it -- he'll be done and gone, never to be enjoyed by future comic fans. If we keep Spidey rejuvenated and relatable to fans on the horizon, we can manage to do that and still keep him enjoyable to those that have been following his adventures for years. Will everyone be happy with the decision? No, of course not, but that's what makes it a horserace. >Sure, that would have been a very easy solution. However, how would a parent feel when they had to explain to their kid that Spider-Man just got divorced from his wife? How would that headline read across the AP or on USA today? The same can be said with an annulment. Sure, divorce is a reality of life, but Peter Parker and Spider-Man are not the types of characters that would do that. Spider-Man is a worldwide icon and is considered one of the good guys, like Superman. There's always the option of killing off MJ, but over the years way too many key characters in Spider-Man mythology have been killed off. Much like the marriage, those deaths hurt the book. The Spider-Man books were better with Harry in them, as well as Norman. Also, how much older would Peter seem as a widower -- yikes!
>>156086932NTA but these are such nonsensical self-invented problems to try justify an ad-hoc return to a bygone tapped out era, via the most idiotic method that can be conceieved.Start a new ongoing for BND, embrace Miles as the 'youth' Spider-Man, don't age Peter and just have a few decades or even in perpetuity a family man? It's goddamn fiction, the Simpsons have run for how long?
>Peter Parker's whole thing is that he's supposed to be a normal dude who's relatable and grounded>editors are desperate to make him anything but normal and grounded... I just, I don't get it.
>>156087031None of his problems and companions are relatable to the common man.World outside your window except it's fucking space, and it's comparatively less fucking borked and nonsensical than the farce you left on Earth.Just go for coffee with your wife you duntz.
>>156087044>Just go for coffee with your wife you duntz. But that's what I'm saying though! Peter should absolutely be the guy going out for a coffee with his wife. I don't understand why editorial is so opposed to that.
>>156087066Oh I'm agreeing anon, we're so fucking far from even the era they are trying to ape, because they want the look of the place without the bones that hold it up.So much of the cast has sunk into the capeshit that there is nowhere to go when the capeshit hits a crescendo, there is nowhere on Earth for Peter to seek solace except space or Aunt May's house.
>>156086993Is it a tapped out era when every Spider-Man movie or cartoon reboot starts over from the beginning and they're all popular aside from the Amazing sequel? No adaptation has done married adult Spider-Man except Spider-Verse where an AU version was supporting Miles's story.
>>156087091Tapped out in the comics, we are passed tapped out in the comics. The cow is dead.We did amnesiac Aunt May with a secret evil cousin for #1000. This is a rotted ongoing.
>>156084226Won't matter. The marriage won't ever come back. Peter and MJ simply aren't the same people they were all those decades ago.
>>156087109This is just an argument for ending Spider-Man comics altogether.>We did amnesiac Aunt May with a secret evil cousin for #1000. This is a rotted ongoing. This is exclusively a Nick Lowe problem. The guy's been editing the book for over a decade.
>>156086221Fuck off, Dan.>>156086932Strawman bullshit. The idea that Peter should age with the readers was abandoned in the 70s and he's been pretty consistently depicted as mid-20s since. Nobody is asking for Grandpa Spider-Man except maybe in a one-off story. And being married in you mid-20s or early 30s isn't something that should be unrelatable or that kids can't look up to. And honestly, a divorce is significantly less bad for kids to read about than your favorite hero making a deal with the devil.Joe is just obsessed with a version of Spider-Man that never existed and he made it everyone else's problem.
>>156084375And yet yall couldn't stop creaming yourself over white fury
>>156087434>Nobody is asking for Grandpa Spider-Man except maybe in a one-off story.Speak for yourself, mate. Frankly, May Day should've taken over the book ages ago.
>Mephisto is an ultimate overarching evil that's easily thwarted everything that he knew to be able to stop him through millenia of scheming>Doom wins lol
>>156087434>Fuck off, Dan.Slott doesn't understand Spider-Man either.>The idea that Peter should age with the readers was abandoned in the 70s and he's been pretty consistently depicted as mid-20s since.JMS tried really hard to write him as someone in his 30s, which is why he made him a teacher and came up with that story about him having 18 year old kids with Gwen that had some goofy nonsense about artificial aging tacked on because Marvel didn't want him to be that old.>And being married in you mid-20s or early 30s isn't something that should be unrelatable or that kids can't look up to. It makes the story less interesting to large groups of people. They went through this with the 20 years of married Spider-Man comics they published.>And honestly, a divorce is significantly less bad for kids to read about than your favorite hero making a deal with the devil. One is mundane reality, the other is a fantasy not all that different from other bad deals he's made.
>>156086270That's why a hard reboot with a simulated life would work. You're following an entirely different Peter who just happens to have the same name and connections as the original. This would also allow the character to break free of the conditions stipulated by the Sony licensing contract
Personally I just like how utterly Bitchmade Mephisto’s become under Zdarsky.
>>156089604OMDbros… THIS is your “hero?”
>>156088110Secret Wars synergy
>>156088150So you're a hard Catholic who considers divorce to be Satanic, got it
>>156089604>AIEEEE>SPARE ME DOCTOR DOOM>NO DON’T HURT ME PLEASE>I’LL GIVE YOU ALL OF HELL I PROMISE>WHAT? WHOSE MARRIAGE? WHY WOULD YOU WANT—>AIEEE! UNDERSTOOD SIRE! WILL RETURN HIS MARRIAGE! I’M SORRY!>GWEN STACY! JOE QUESADA! CB CEBULSKI! DAN SLOTT! SAAAAAVE MEEEEE!
>>156088002I mean personally I could not give less of a shit. Race doesn't matter to me beyond it always being a cover in modern comic for shit variants seeking royalties. Miles is boring. A white Miles is boring. Riri is boring. A white Riri is boring. Fury is Fury.
>>156086932It's a false dichotomy. I fail to see why they can't literally have both. You can hard reboot shit every 20 years; audiences get to grow with characters, and there's the new one for the new generation in line with the 20yr nostalgia cycle.Allows for big swings because it'll be swapped out eventually. Core concepts get to remain between interpretations. If they're worried about audiences having "drop-off" points (as if audience attrition isn't an ever-present issue for all long-running media), you can have some faggoty, meta-multiverse wraparound in other titles (like everything Al Ewing writes) that explains that Universes bleed into one another and your other dad's version totally still counts, and that's why there are similarities. Endings are good. They get people invested. This is like saying they'll stop selling copies or Invincible because it's over. They'd stop selling Lord of the Rings because it ended. Like saying people won't watch new Spider-Man movies because the last ones ended... Wait a minute...
>>156090050Dead-on. Although again I fail to see why the matured Peter with children line can't be allowed to exist for a time, as when it did it topped the charts for years. There's a hungry audience aching for this, there's a bevy of stories waiting for this, and nothing gets done because we have self-insert idiots at the top seeing Peter Pan in Neverland or bust.
>>156088150>not all that different from other bad deals he's madeI don't know, I think making a deal with the devil and then telling everyone that it's good and there are no negative consequences is pretty fucked up and weird. Like, the whole point of those kinds of stories is that the protagonist has been tricked by a malevolent force that took advantage of his naivete and he suffers greatly for a comparatively minor boon and then is doomed to eternal damnation. It's supposed to be an allegory for deals that seem too good to be true and have a hidden cost. Joe wants us to believe that Mephisto, just this one time, gave a no-strings-attached fair trade?
Meanwhile, DC comics mocked OMD hard with the marriage special.
>>156084226Marywhoretards are so stupid
He won.
>>156090829It's so obvious that whoever wrote this has never worked a retail job. It's a service job, the shop doesn't work if you're not there. It doesn't really matter how good you are at your job, especially since it's not a very complicated job. It's of utmost important that you actually be there and on time. If they really believed in his skills but didn't think he could show up on time, then just switch to part time or a schedule he can work with. You can't have holes in the schedule.Ironically this is actually a common problem in alot of LCS's. You walk in, and there's nobody there because nobody's keeping track of the schedule and lunch breaks are totally random
>>156090829>THEY SHOULD BE MARRIED! >Bring Red Hood's helmet back!Oh, so that's their plan to make Prime likeable while keeping his whiny fanboy shtick. Just have him parrot majority fan opinions instead of nitpicky crap.
>>156084226We need their kid to come back and have her not care for MJ so she gets a taste of what Peter felt with Paul. She never suffered consequences for that.Single SpideyDAD Peter adventures!
>>156090814I don’t give a shit about MJ, but how can anyone be satisfied with how bad and desperate omd was and what it did?
>>156088002They don't bring out those keys very often. We might actually be getting in the car
>>156091005It works, it's also a litmus test to see what's penetrated the actual Bullpens.
>>156091052May learning and loathing MJ for the Paul shit, basically being like Dylan times a thousand would be incredibly funny.
>>156092491It’s just going to run you over like it did last time
>>156090112When I was a kid (JMS run from when I was 7-14) Peter was being written as being in his 30s. Made sense, and I liked it. Kids look up to their parents and shit like firefighters. The fact he WAS kid is part of the appeal; Captain America doesn't feel like he was ever written as a kid, so he lacks it, and that's part of his appeal.Marvel's aversion to multiple lines baffles me. Then again, the business is run unbelievably sloppily (most comic companies, but they are/were at the top). They can't coordinate. Everything aside, the reason new readers of all ages aren't jumping on isn't because of the absolute mishandling of the book. Kids would buy in anyway, the issue is the sloppy mess that is comics. There's too much friction (in the business/media definition). Comics require homework to order in advance. There's one-shots when the writers cock-up and need to slide shit in. There's random mini-series. All of which you'd only know if you kept up. Movies, TV shows, YouTube, TikTok, books, literally no other medium is like this.People don't read comics because it's annoying. I could organize my own comic orders online and get my comics to my doorstep 30% cheaper if I did the thinking myself. I'm willing to pay a sizable amount extra to flog that faggotry off on my LCS, and just grap my floppies (which, let's be honest, I already read in advance for free online). Piracy is the only sane thing for "new fans". This isn't even mentioning the cost (something the comic companies are honestly incapable of changing). Spider-Man will remain at the top for as long as print comics exist, and it'll be a sloppy fucking mess. If comics ever became relevant again, then maybe it'd have to compete, but that day, that chance, doesn't exist.
>>156089796Isn't there like infinite Mephistos so this should do nothing? He let Khonshu kill hundreds of himself as a prank
>>156084723JINGLE JANGEL!
>>156092939Do you really think the writers remember or care about that lmao
>>156092908I respected and liked Peter more as a kid for being the adult I would grow into, I never knew the comics only the animated series where he was getting his act together and proposed to MJ.Learning what happened later in the comics was like learning your favourite fictional couple had gotten divorce, they had taken up heavy heroin habits and were talking about their lost professional career as an athlete if it weren't for that twisted knee they could have gone pro.Just sad.
>>156092908>People don't read comics because it's annoying.This. I wanted to read a certain comic series. I looked it up and there were multiple runs. Each run had multiple series. Since I can't sort this through I just got volume 1. Volume 1 opens with a note by writers saying they themselves cant decide what order to put things in. Putting it in chronological order of the story doesnt make sense, neither does order of release. So they decide to invent an entirely separate order. I start reading. I don't know who 80% of the characters are, where this is in the time line, who is a bad guy, and I don't even know if the media I watched before is canon to this. I give it 100 pages and one of this is answered. By than I had forgotten why I even wanted to read this so I stopped.Imagine if I had paid money for this. For something which the people who wrote it can't figure out how to make readable. I'd have to get a fucking return and explain to the online bot or sales person why I am returning this and hope they approve it. And when I went to le comic book nerd websites and mentioned this I just got a bunch of defensive nerds outraged I even tried to read it.
>>156087091Which spiderman had him being a manwhore, a punching bag for the entire world a massive pussy and not in a on again off again relationship with MJ or Gwen who was MJ in everything but name. Go on.
>>156084472Reading the Flash was the best comic decision I've made. I wish I was a bigger DC reader when I was a kid.
>>156093764So fucking goated.
>>156084226So how does this even work in terms of editorials? Was this the reason they kneecapped Spencer at the end of the Kindred arc? Is this the rest of Marvel editorial giving the Spider-Man editors the finger and pulling a nuclear option? The latter seems surprisingly likely since this had absolutely no buildup or hints in any of the SM books.
>>156093824Balls ultimately in ASM's court, and I doubt Kelly gives a shit beyond avoiding it and putting it off, if not just suffocating it in its crib as a done thing because it's not an 'ongoing' deal.It would absolutely piss off those Charlies who bought to kick, but Spoffice has never given a shit about riling up the dog and rewarding trust before, why start now? Aside from DC kicking their ass that is.
>>156093325What series was that? The fact it could apply to so many things is crazy.I'm lucky I only tried to properly get into Spider-Man comics with JMS. My childhood (because I couldn't read at age 4, but I wanted to see the pictures) was the post-clone saga Spider-Man titles. Short era, but so many books. The stories are actually okay (until the '99 relaunch shits the bed), but it's a fucking labyrinth where you endlessly swap between books. If it weren't for the hard shift away from the alternating model with the JMS run, I'm certain I'd never have gotten into comics. That run adamantly avoided interacting with anything outside of standard numbering at all costs (until "The Other drags its nuts along your eyes, but I digress). I was the illusive kid audience that they're saying they want, and they'd have driven me away. I came and stayed for everything they claim to hate. I should NEVER need a guide to read something. Even the handful of books that entertain overlap like this are written so that you don't have to. Comics tell you to eat shit or leave. I've got a lifetime of books behind me, and I remember wanting to get into X-Men in my 20s; they're a mess beyond anything else, they make Spider-Man releases look well-managed. I saw that wall and said, fuck you, I will leave. I sold those books and left. Being told "read the collected edition" isn't a solution. That friction is a failure. 1 book that sells 1,000,000 is better than 6 intersecting title that sell 200,000 and function as 1 because they're all satellites. Fewer points of failure. Easier to collect. Cheaper printing and background coordination. NO AUDIENCE FRICTION.Random shitty events with satellite titles and one-shots cripple Spider-Man more than shitty writing ever could. A kid picks it up and finds out he missed the main plot because he didn't read solicits two months ago isn't excited, he's done with comics. They're failures. They literally can't even talk to children.
>>156093898>They're failures. They literally can't even talk to children.Well said.
I actually think they will undo One More Day this time but mainly because there's new leadership at Marvel and they will want the fanbase to think "oh they are truly different from the previous guys". Undoing OMD is the easy way to do it.The same thing happened at DC when Dan DiDio got laid off and the new leads/editors brought back Wally West, started heavily pushing Nightwing (to a ridiculous degree in Dark Crisis) and brought back Cassandra Cain and such.
>>156094091Issue is that DC really was just bottlenecked by one man, Marvel is a whole crony hive of Didio's who would all be trying to damage control and downplay the undoing of the deal. The marriage is point blank never coming back so long as guys like Lowe are in charge.
>>156094091DC undid their Gwen Stacy today...>>156093310>>156093373
>>156090050>You can hard reboot shit every 20 years; Marvel doesn't want to do this and mock DC for trying it (who have recently gone back on it and made everything canon). Too many people, readers and pros alike, can't let go. They want it to go on forever.
>>156094199You can't pull a OMD and then act like you haven't done the worst form of this.
>>156093392This is a Lowe problem.>>156093764As a kid you wouldn't have been interested in this, which is why Spider-Man sales were significantly greater than Flash's. Good that you're following Conway's advice though.
>>156094199Marvel hates it because AT LEAST DC has the balls to reset the clock to keep the timeline goingMarvel doesnt even know what the fuck they are doing now.At least DC has a library, Marvel has nothing these days because the retards hates writing their comics thanks to quesada and brevoort
>>156094255>As a kid you wouldn't have been interested in this, which is why Spider-Man sales were significantly greater than Flash's.Why was Ultimate selling better than ASM? Why was marriage era Spider-Man selling better than Flash? It's because gottahavemyspider-man is one of the universal constants in comics, but more people have it when there is something worth a damn in them.Anti-marriage crowd has yet to point to the story that justifies the decision. You have had two fucking decades, the next gen has antipathy for it and aren't thanking you.
>>156094091They could have just had them divorce after the retarded as fuck civil war unmasking thing. Have her go into hiding after aunt may is killed and have spiderman figure out who is gunning for his family. After he does a no way home like thing to fix the stupid as fuck unmasking thing he'll try to get her back only to find out she wants to seperate and he'll not blame her for it. Simple. They'll have an on again off again thing and visit May's grave occasionally. Will totally supplant the constant crying for gwen stacey. Which is now 1000% problematic because Gwen Stacey aka Spider Gwen is so popular and is the spiderwoman of the current gen.
>>156094199DC Soft rebooting things is trying to have its cake and eat it, too. Reset, but not deal with the pre-requisite scaled down beginning, and actual coordination required to end something so long-running. DC's attempts have been failures. Marvel mocking it is ironic, though. To tell stories without end means they can't have consequences. At least DC's shitty reboots mean they can at least occasionally swing for the fences while Marvel never will.
>show Spiderman like two pages later for no reasonYep it's doneMarriagefags won
>>156094322The Brand New Day era, which was even name dropped in a recent popular film.Speaking of which, the guy who wrote that issue of Flash was Mark Waid, who was also one of the BND writers and vocal opponent of married Spider-Man. He was able to compartmentalize these things. Girl problems were never big draw for any version of the Flash, it wasn't a big deal to have Wally married just as his predecessors were. It didn't significantly alter the concept.
>>156094416More like at least the horrendous fact that for half of ASM Peters soul has been screaming and had a deal with the devil in his background might be dealt with. The marriage coming back is a whole other campaign, of course it still being absent means the devil still won. It's why OMIT is such a shit.
>>156094168Eh, Black Lanterns can be undone. It remains to be seen if she is back for real.>>156094322They haven't done a goddamn thing to justify single Peter Parker, sales are worse than pre-OMD, the comics have been consistently bad for most of the last 19 years, but we should be grateful that they got rid of the one thing holding Spider-Man back.
>>156094432Again with the adaptations, we are talking about the long running comics. And the adaptation has about as much in common with the era as the name, what party did Peter start the movie in? And with what friends? And with what deal with the devil?Waids wrong, as is all of BND. It's a minority that has had decades to prove its point and it's failed.
>>156090829What the hell did Prime do?
>>156094455She is the new Black Hand.
>>156093898The series was transformers. I watched the rerelease of transformers the movie in theatres. I went to the comics and the start of volume 1 is the editors saying they had no clue what order to present things in. It started with some Megatron origin story where I think the auto-bots were presented as despotic, corrupt rulers, and Megatron is a freedom fighter. I of course had no clue who half the characters were, characters just appeared in panel with no introduction like I am already supposed to know who they are in the continuity (cuz as I said the volume was not presented in order of release. They started me off with a spin-off series). 30 pages in and I wasn't sure if I was supposed to be cheering for or against Megatron. I just knew the one piece of media I was familiar with wasn't canon here.I completly lost my interest in purseing the comics so if someone is going to do a write up about what they think the correct reading order is or drop a bunch of spoilers they think will help make sense of it, don't bother. I learned my lesson about Western comics. The only one I am reading is IDW's Comic which is probably just as confusing to a new comer. I know all the details because I've played all the games but the comic isn't ever going to fill you in. You are just supposed to know the purple cat the silver hedgehog is a time traveler and the dialogue is going to act like you already know these things.

>>156096646It's not, but it's better than Zeb so people say ASM is in an upswing, which it's not.The dialogue is bad. The plot direction is all over the place and is thrown at the wall. What I've read from the Chip interview isn't encouraging. Also classic OMD apologist shit, to be honest I'm glad we're not going to resolve it this way. I want OMD handled with as much spite as the marriage was. Let the keys get jangled some more and let the market share continue to decrease.

>>156100140Why do these people act like the old stories stop existing if they ever change anything? You HAVE TO read hundreds and hundreds of Spider-Man comics with Aunt May in them, no matter what. Let’s really think about what Aunt May has contributed to the comics since her resurrection. It’s definitely NOT this “reminder of his guilt, in fact by keeping her around she’s actually made Peter a worse character, further removed from the principals that make him a powerful story, such as when the OMD day deal was made, this was clearly an abnegation of his usual “responsibility”, he was too afraid of losing a loved one that he made a deal with evil, with ultimately horrible consequences. That is the EXACT same as him letting the burglar escape and kill uncle Ben, but actually 1000x worse, because he didn’t actually meditate on this and learn a lesson and progress as a character. It seems like these older generations wanted to treat Spider-Man like a toy in a toy box. There to play with for some comfortable nostalgia. But he’s a character and if you’re gonna tell stories about him, then they kinda have to go somewhere. Whether you want that or not. I’m really glad that gen Z content creators are specifically making content about how Aunt May needs to die. These hangups about not wanting characters to evolve is why manga stories are better than comic books. And I prefer comics, just saying.
>>156100046You literally have to be a hardcore apologist for every other writer if you are a Marvel or DC writer, it’s basically like contributing towards your 401k. That’s how your signature retains value 30-40 years in the future, and you get a big double page spread in comics when you die. These companies will NEVER work with someone who’s been badmouthing their talent up and down. And that’s a good thing, I don’t need my Marvel writers constantly throwing each other under the bus. That would go nowhere as it devolves into chaos. What I need is for editorial to quit being fucking retarded and forcing writers to not fix obvious problems because they have some crazy conspiracy theories about the characters and stories and knowing what’s best for the line.
>>156100046You know how many writers would have reversed OMD already if it wasn’t for editorial? Hell, JMS didn’t even want to write it in the first place! Don’t look towards the writers for blame when it comes to these big editorial fuckups. Spencer spent like 50 issues working up to reversing OMD and got stopped at the very last second. Now that we have a new Editor in Chief, OMD was almost IMMEDIATELY reversed by Zdarsky already.
>>156100215How many people died in NYC while he was chasing Cormac around a forest?
Has anyone ever stopped to consider that Stan Lee the creator of the character chose the to move the character forward in the direction of the Marriage? He could have chosen anyone else or brought back Gwen but Peter married MJ. He then brought it back after in the strip when OMD proved unpopular. Ego maniacs who have decried the marriage since its inception should not have any of their work respected.
>>156100263Wacker was a co-editor in charge of Brand New Day, he's anti-married Spider-Man.All of this is wheel spinning, relying on faulty memories or people who have never actually read the story. There was never any in-universe magic spell preventing Peter and Mary Jane from marrying. In fact, one of their last interactions before the time reboot was MJ saying they would find each other again.
>>156100408He married them in a comic strip because he was a 65 year old at the time writing for his fellow senior citizens. Jim Shooter sperged out and decided it needed to happen in the comics first.
>>156100440>because he was a 65 year old at the time writing for his fellow senior citizens. This is your hang up. Plenty of young readers like myself prefer a married Spider-Man.no he wanted hte marriage in the book as well. Regardless, it was a development the creator pushed for his character. Your comment doesn't address the massive disrespect shown the decision.
The marriage won't be undone because of Ultimate Spider-Man and (ironically) Paul.Marvel knows that, if they need a little juice in sales, they can just put out a miniseries with a married Peter and fans will lap it up with shouts of "THIS IS HOW ITS SUPPOSE TO BE!!!" You can even tease them with it maybe becoming a recurring mini, or even a maxi-series.Meanwhile, Paul was the MOST talked about thing in Spider-Man probably since Spider-Verse. The backlash for him was so great that Marvel allowed DC to shittalk him in their historical crossover comic. No other fan-hated aspect of either DC or Marvel got shat on in those four books EXCEPT for Paul. In other words, poking the bear still gets sales. Keeping Peter and MJ split up still generates buzz.
Say thank you
>>156100554This is why i have started to hate Spider Man Fans
Zdarsky acknowledges that the nullification of the "One More Day" contract will have repercussions for Amazing Spider-Man, though not for his Avengers series—or, at least, not entirely. It’s all for Joe, since Zdarsky doesn’t care much about the marriage.
>>156100594Not until I see Peter and Mary Jane in bed, wearing wedding bands, obviously having sex, with a calendar marked with 'Today: Wedding Anniversary' and saying "I love you, Mr. Parker!"; "I love YOU, Mrs. Parker!" AND IT NOT BEING A DREAM SEQUENCE, ALTERNATE TIMELINE, OR DIFFERENT UNIVERSE.
>>156100480>Plenty of young readers like myself prefer a married Spider-Man.You're an outlier and don't represent a majority.>no he wanted hte marriage in the book as well. Regardless, it was a development the creator pushed for his character. Your comment doesn't address the massive disrespect shown the decision. He had stopped writing and editing Spider-Man over a decade earlier, it was no longer his character. How the marriage happened was rushed and felt forced. The way it happened in the strip was different. Stan Lee wasn't interested in acknowledging DeFalco's retcon that MJ had always known his identity.
>>156100684Cheapest bullshit thing they can do is say that Paul ended their marriage. They were married the entire time but MJ did get together with Paul when they were trapped in the dead world and she left Peter. That allows for them to keep what Kelley has done, push Peter into being the leader of the new Avengers (wife left him, so he needs the focus), and explain why Cormac wants him out of Aunt May's life so badly.
>>156086932>On one side, there is a contingency of fandom that wants Peter to age along with them and live life as they do. He needs to get married, have kids, then grandkids, and then the inevitableEven if his strawman was accurate, why is this a bad thing? They keep wanting to push Miles Morales now, but Spiderverse showed that he's not going to get received well unless it's by passing the torch, and actually treating Peter like an adult adds emotional depth. He's full of shit.>If Spidey grows old and dies off with our readership, then that's it -- he'll be done and goneThe Flash would like a word.>However, how would a parent feel when they had to explain to their kid that Spider-Man just got divorced from his wife?"bUt tHinK oF tHe kIds!!1!"Kids aren't reading this, and it's probably more explainable than OMD. Plus, again, Spiderverse already showed this a little over a decade later after this article's publication. It was a designated "bad future," but simple enough to follow as a subplot of a movie, and opened up new stories. So, why are we still using this outdated and disproven standard?>Sure, divorce is a reality of life, but Peter Parker and Spider-Man are not the types of characters that would do that.So why is this goober spending a shitload of time thinking about it? Is this dude not an adult? Life doesn't have a happily ever after; there's still drama after a happy marriage. They had a kid for fuck's sake. Also, why is this dude's thoughts "well, we need to either kill MJ or divorce her." Why? Why this sexist need to just reduce her to a drama vent?
>>156100777>Even if his strawman was accurate, why is this a bad thing? They've wanted Spider-Man to last forever since 1968.>The Flash would like a word.Hardly anyone reads The Flash or most DC comics. The Absolute line is what's getting all the attention, the one where everyone's young and edgy.>So, why are we still using this outdated and disproven standard? It's different when it's the "main" Spider-Man.>Life doesn't have a happily ever after; there's still drama after a happy marriage. He also discussed this.>Could you have soap opera within a marriage? Sure. But after a while, there's only so much tension you can bring into Peter and MJ's marriage before you make him seem like a louse of a husband, or her, like a bickering wife. In contrast, you can only play them as a happy-go-lucky couple for so long -- that adds up to zero tension within the relationship and takes away a crucial element of Spider-Man stories: the soap opera. And this is what happened. In the 90s/00s Mary Jane became a nag who was frequently yelling at him to stop being Spider-Man and Peter became the louse who would lie to her about stopping and then go be Spider-Man anyway.
>>156100777Honestly, the wildest thing about the whole "Nooooo Spidey can't be divorced!!!" is that The Other literally set up a really believable reason for MJ to call it quits with Peter. Aunt May getting shot and dying due to him unmasking during Civil War would have been a repeat of Uncle Ben and MJ would be rightly scared that Peter would turbocharge his death wish; something she wouldn't want to be around to see.
>>156100926>MJ became a nagYes, because the original narrative was going to be that Peter, MJ, and the baby rode off into the sunset so that Ben could be the new, hip, updated Spider-Man. They aren't the Richards' or even the X-Men; MJ's right to be worried about being worried about him still being Spider-Man with a baby on the way. Especially considering that Venom at the time had only very recently stopped being the kind of guy who would pull a Zoom Special on her to fuck with Peter.
>>156094631>The only one I am reading is IDW's Comic which is probably just as confusing to a new comer. I know all the details because I've played all the games but the comic isn't ever going to fill you in. You are just supposed to know the purple cat the silver hedgehog is a time traveler and the dialogue is going to act like you already know these things. You mistyped that this paragraph is talking about Sonic. That one's does have an obvious numbered run with a definitive start (with a couple spin-offs, so you do have a bit of a point there). The only real problem with the comic's starting point is that it's all predicated on the storyline for Sonic Forces, which was a complete shitshow that Ian Flynn, the guy they had as head writer in the beginning, hated He's not wrong. It's a tone-deaf character regress for most of the cast from people that don't know how to write drama or Sonic, with inconsistent worldbuilding. I.E: G.U.N. (worldwide human military organization) never gets mentioned and there's one part where Knuckles gets hundreds of furries killed with nobody acknowledging it. Afterwards, the comics are meant to be considered in the same canon as the games, so for some parts of that you just have to accept it's a cross-medium franchise and roll with it. It's a problem that makes Sonic written like a lot of modern floppies in nothing of consequence really happening and very clearly telegraphs who has Joker Immunity. You're half-right in that regard.I agree on IDW's Transformer run. I picked up a few comps a while back, and the stories were all over the place. Within the same cover, you would have shit like Starscream ruling Cybertron and cutting a deal with two of Devastator's limbs to help them hook up, the Transformers actively at war with the Joes, the Autobots on Earth peacefully with a second wave of earthborn Transformers, Megatron on some graveyard planet as an Autobot, etc.
>>156094631Also, was the Tranformers book you picked up Shattered Glass?
>>156100738>You're an outlier and don't represent a majority.no, I'm not. >it was no longer his character.Wrong it will always be his character and the creator making a decision as life altering as this should be respected. Wolfman, Wells, Quesada or who ever could never have made a character like this. >How the marriage happened was rushed and felt forced.Doesn't matter. That it was different in the strip doesn't matter. the writer who stated he didn't agree with the decision but did it anyway Had the correct reaction. It makes sense for Peter, as flawed as the decision BY THE CHARACTER may have been, to get married. Franchises should escalate a person, not escalate a powerset. what you might call proper unrushed build is just leaving enough runway to write yourself out of the decision.
>>156100554>In other words, poking the bear still gets sales. Keeping Peter and MJ split up still generates buzz. You’re talking about how “controversy creates cash, and an enraged fan is an engaged fan” in an era where people will just pirate the books they hate and support the books they like. People can just go on /co/ or Twitter and see everything important. It’s not 2005 anymore Brevoort, take your meds and stop fucking up the X-Men.
>>156100554It still makes no sense to cancel your best-selling on-goings (SM, X-Men, and Wolverine were all selling better than ASM) even with the belief that a future mini would also sell. It's the old bird-in-the-hand saying. There's no guarantee, especially after annoying people by canceling the last one. It's incredibly short sighted if that really was their reasoning. Just take the sales you already fucking have. And, sorry, the Paul conversation wasn't moving units. Venom was selling like shit. That's why Paul is dead and Eddie is back.

MJ's character was like that because of the ORIGINAL plan for Clone Saga, which got massively derailed. Had it gone the way it was suppose to, the Clone Saga would have ended with Peter, MJ, and the baby written out of the comic and Ben being the Spidey we still have today. But BECAUSE it got derailed, MJ being a nag stayed.
>>156101366There was that one panel ages ago where the symbiote looked like it was a woman cumming when it rebonded to Eddie, so there's definitely a chance that it pounded out her holes one day to keep her pacified.
>>156101388The clone saga was constantly being rewritten on the fly, made up as they went along. DeFalco said he always meant for Ben to be a fakeout, he just chose not to share this information with the editors or writers just like he refused to share Hobgoblin's identity with anyone.
>>156101388>This shouldn't surprise you in the leastThe results being unsurprising only accentuates how stupid this all is. Selling comics is literally their jobs and they don't have an excuse for being this out of touch.
>>156101401No wonder it’s so obsessed with Peter, he has canonically the best dick in Marvel, as a stupid child I thought it was a drug addiction allegory but it’s really about your worst ex
>>156100926Relationships don't need constant internal conflict. You can have external pressures that provide just as much narrative conflict without undermining the relationship. But undermining the relationship was always the goal with those writers. They wanted her to be both too perfect (beautiful, famous, and rich, solving Peter's money problems) and too bad (nagging, smoking arc, partying unlike good boy Peter). Even the writers admit this. It was a choice that was meant to turn the fans against her but it never worked, so they decided to write Peter out with the Clone Saga and they could get their single Peter back with Ben Reilly.
>>156101350You are having a hard time with all of this. Black cat doesnt matter. She was created and pushed by subversives trying to profit on an already existing character they were not the og creators but. She cheated on peter, betrayed and tried to kill him. All in line with her character, doesn't matter you or anyone else felt it was rushed.
>>156101420It's truly amazing how fucking stupid the Spider Office is.>Hey, we're going to do a really big storyline. How is it going to end so we'll know how to properly promote and market it?>HEHEHE, I'LL NEVER TELL!
>>156084226So this was interesting.https://youtube.com/watch?v=rRVbUH87pQcThe tl;dr is that Zdarsky does indeed confirm that the One More Day deal is kaput now, though he’s not addressing Peter and MJ. That’s going to be Joe Kelly’s job to figure out, if he’s so inclined (though there’s been some interesting movement on that front, with MJ looking like she’s on her way in, Raelith looking like she’s on her way out, and Peter now being distant from May and needing to get close to someone again). But yeah, One More Day, Joe Quesada’s proudest story, has pretty much gone the way of Paul Rabin, even if the marriage isn’t immediately poofing back into existence. But for the first time, creators can’t fall back on “muh deal” to keep them broken up.
>>156101350>Historical sales data backs up the many editors and writers who say Peter is more interesting when he's single. No, it doesn't. Sales dropped after OMD. get a clue.>Legally speaking he was not the creator.Anyone writer who says this is a coward who gets a beer poured over his head and broken jaw. >>156101750I thought doom likes Spider-Man. Doom should be their Marriage counselor.
>>156101823Doom at a minimum grudgingly respects Spider-Man, and it was his conversation with him that got him to go after Mephisto for his mom’s soul. So yeah, Doom likes Peter, loathes Mephisto, and isn’t interested in MJ either way. He’d probably help them out just to spite Mephisto.>>156101640I can’t believe OMD was killed in a Captain America book, by Doctor Doom.
>>156101862>I can’t believe OMD was killed in a Captain America book, by Doctor Doom.I get the feeling that Marvel was never as proud of One More Day as Joe Quesada and his remaining cronies tried to pretend it was.Mephisto is pretty much being Paul’d. Paul was also shat on and humiliated in the All-New Venom side-book, before getting a footnote death in ASM proper. And Mephisto is going through the exact same shit now. Humiliation and castration, followed by obliteration.
>>156086932And then it turned out that kids stopped reading comics anyways and instead in the 2000s to today were consuming fresh reboots via the films, show, and games. The majority of which depicted Peter getting paired with MJ anyway, meaning that instead of MJ being a sign of ageing the character up she instead became an intrinsic part of the setting as the designated love interest regardless of his age. Then when those kids finally start reading comics as teens after they see cool or funny out of context panels on social media and they are told to read Kraven's Last Hunt (Spider-Man is blessed and cursed with its peak era being a steady stream of high quality issues which are terrible to make trades for with Kraven as a big exception) and are inducted quickly into understanding the bullshit of OMD regardless. While I can get his logic at the time, the real question is why they have to hold onto OMD so tightly when all its objectives failed and it ended up only being a detriment in the grand scheme of the brand. Because controversy sells only works for so long.
>>156101640Listened to this. If you are a marriage fag Zadarsky is not an Ally.

>>156102826Kelly was wrong as well. OMIT spelled it all out right here >>156085902
The same idiots who did the idiot decision, made apologies and excuses for the decision all these years, are going to make an equally unsatisfying idiotic resolution that doesn't address, fix or deliver what people want from ASM.New blood. New talent. No more fucking BND. Let people under the age of fifty write the superhero they claim is for the youth.
>>156102867Right, Kravens last hunt was AFTER the Wedding. These number aren't a dramatic drop, there are factors other than the wedding at play and these members aren't even accurate. You still have not presented a proper argument to my original point.

>>156101823Doom is beyond all except the writers
>>156103308>>156103349>Gwenfags>MJfagsThe tragedy of OMD isn't that MJ was lost, it's that marriagefags no matter the ship lot. Peter won't hook up either either MJ or Gwen because we now see what editorial is willing to do if any one of his relationships gets too serious.
>>156103420Doom is implied to have a bit of a soft-spot for Peter.
>>156103389It's an immediate flag for hack writer wants to lean on hack writer cliches in perpetuity, because they don't know the strength a stable and loving relationship core can bring to heighten and stabilize drama or fantastical events.I feel like BND writers would burn up in flames if they can't get to write Peter being late to a date.
>>156103445You just summarized Peter's entire relationship with Shay. She was just Gwen Stacy 2.0 (or 3.0, or 4.0, or 5.0 because there have been many, many failed attempts to rehash MUH GWEN over the decades and Shay is just kind of a capstone for that shit)
>>156103430
>>156103561There is a separate timeline where peter agrees to team up, there's just gotta be.
>>156103561
>>156103483Shay was the immediate ur-example of a post-OMD love interest that came to mind. In this case the SEE PETER HAS MOVED ON thing in the active ground zero that was Rabin Wells era. Just a less insulting more vacuous distraction, like Pedro was for MJ where they don't even really bother fleshing them out just keeping them distant because god forbid Marvels Clark and Lois sell what's sold on covers and everywhere else in the IP.I feel like Raelith is BND writers not even bothering to pretend they do real relationships anymore, it's another bed to bounce on off-panel.
>>156101640If anything that's still not making me buy Avengers or ASM.
>>156103664It's got me interested at least. It's the start of something bigger, and Marvel had better not screw it up.
>>156101640>RaelithNot even worth talking about.>>156102875It's such ridiculous bullshit that Joe just goes with because he knows nobody liked OMD. The logic doesn't even make sense and you're a retard if you take this response to a question as having the same weight as what's actually on the page.>>156103445That's exactly what JMS did right with the marriage, that support and stability that they gave each other. Like, there's occasionally drama between Reed and Sue, but nobody feels like that's an important element to Fantastic Four. The complete lack of stability with Peter's personal life has been a major problem. No consistent friendships or relationships makes him feel ungrounded.
OMD has such a toxic association to it that Marvel outright saying they're undoing it would generate publicity and essentially repeat the success of the marriage arc due to renewed public interest and reintroduction of the idea. Prove me wrong.
>>156092939In alternate realities, there isn't one big hell for every universe.

>>156103053They were dropping and they continued to drop. Marvel's best years were 1968-1971. If Spider-Man sales were in a good place, there would have been no need to do tacky gimmicks like Todd McFarlane Spider-Man #1 or endless events like Maximum Carnage and Maximum Clonage.>>156103261You're saying this in a reply to a post that includes a page.>>156103389It's fiction. Fiction without conflict is boring. Marvel ate DC's lunch in the 60s because they took dramatic tension to new and greater heights. Superheroes with big personal problems, superheroes who fought among themselves, all that was completely new.>>156103720There you go again with "What's on the page isn't actually on the page."It makes sense as much any time travel story. A version of Peter and MJ made a deal with Mephisto. The deal changed the timeline and as a result, the new timeline Peter and Mary Jane never had a marriage to offer in trade for May's life. She lived because of the butterfly effect.>>156103720JMS chose to add drama by having Gwen Stacy fuck Norman Osborn, have Shathra claim that she slept with a married Spider-Man, and have the paparazzi catch Tony Stark and MJ entering Stark Tower together which got blasted on all the tabloids, turning Peter into a public alleged cuckold.

>>156104133Who is "everyone else's?" Comic sales plummeted in the 90s. That's a fact. There was a brief but big speculator bubble then a massive crash.
>>156104056>look at this graphYou keep posting incorrect info ignoring what the conversation was about. These number didn't play into their decision. Sales Go up sales go down. They got rid of the marriage because they didn't like it, instead of respecting what Stan Lee wanted for the Character.
>>156104177Your argument is that the marriage caused sales to tank because comics crashed, which says nothing because there were too many things that caused a comics crash. It's like the kind of dishonest comparison that Brevoort did where he compared the marriage in Ultimate Spider-Man to Martha Wayne being alive in Absolute Batman.
>>156104192Spider-Man was a co-creation, and his other creator, Steve Ditko, thought that Spider-Man should have never have grown into a full-on adult and also that Mary Jane should have never been depicted on the page.

Does this mean Johnny Blaze lost the Ghost Rider again?
>>156104056>"What's on the page isn't actually on the page"It literally isn't on the page. You're telling me that Mephisto is powerful enough to change the past but every time he does, the contract is erased by it? If that was true, he would never do it. Every writer treats it as if it's still active and happened, but Joe confirming a question in a Q&A that lets him off the hook for making Spider-Man a Satanist is more important. Got it.>JMS chose to add dramaExternal conflicts and internal conflicts are different, actually. The problems weren't between Peter and MJ, they were between them and people (or beings, in Shathra's case) outside of their marriage.
>>156104252But, Steve Ditko did depicted her on the page your statement is bunk. He had Peter growing up and graduating High School. But these were decision being made between him and Stan Lee. Steve Ditko refused to talk about it for 9 million years.>Mary Jane should have never been depicted on the page.Where did he state explicitly what you are claiming, I'm honestly curious. Where did the BND folks claim they did it for because Steve felt MJ should never be depicted on the page.
>>156104329Jemas wasn't some old fanboy who wanted the comics to resemble the ones of his youth. He came to the company as someone completely new to comics.
>>156104401>It literally isn't on the page. It's all there in OMIT. He shows what happened in the new timeline instead of OMD. Mephisto wasn't involved at all. The extent of his interference was using a bird to free a criminal before the wedding day which disrupted the wedding, that was it.On that very first page he agrees to Mary Jane's demand that he never interfere with their life again and that "This never happened."
>>156104572she asks that Mephisto leave HIM alone and technically turning into a pigeon is still fucking with him
>>156104506>But, Steve Ditko did depicted her on the page your statement is bunk.He never showed her face and he told anyone who asked that he had no intention of ever showing it, that she should always be a mysterious ideal in your imagination.>He had Peter growing up and graduating High School. But not college. He wanted to avoid the mess Marvel has turned him into now, an adult loser who doesn't have it together. He also thought a Peter who had his life together would be too boring.
>actual Marvel employees posting ittWhat are you even doing here? go write all those wonderful stories that BND was sure to deliver. It's been what? 50 years? 50 years and nothing to show for. Other than Peter being forever in his 20s while you keep getting older and closer to death.
>>156104641I just wonder if it's Slott or Wacker or Brevoort trying to use that argument that the marriage caused a sales decline
>>156084226And all it took them was an entire generation of humankind longer than anyone would care. The vibe is dead, MJ and Peter are dull brand name legacies with no personal meaning, and this event isn't going to do a damn thing about either of those.
>>156104641I mentioned the Sony contract. We aren't supposed to know that they're just Sony mouthpieces
>>156104572You can't possibly be this dumb.
>>156104631You need to provide the actual quote like an article with him saying this. Regardless, these were disagreements between him and Lee. Quesada is not Ditko, do you understand this?
>>156104684>it was so long ago bro>no one cares bro>even if they did their relationship is like completely ruined bro.Disingenuous faggot. You're counting on people actually stop caring but 20 years later and people still care. Even those who hadn't even been born by the time OMD happened. Then you counted on ruining Peter/MJ and show how they wouldn't really work but to do that you had to write them so ooc that they might as well have been different people larping as Peter and MJ.To most people a.k.a readers a.k.a. sales, Peter marrying MJ is just the natural progression of both of their characters.
>>156104522And you don't think he has his own biases in saying that?
>>156104786Kind of reminded me that Ditko did an essay critical of what Quesada said at a convention panel, the part where Quesada said "These toys are meant to be broken. If we just told stories that kept the status quo, nobody would be in this room, and I’d be out of a job. They’re mean to be thrown against a wall, smashed together, and built back up again.”

>>156103308She's sucking and fucking Flash and Tony at the same time. That should keep the marywhorefags satisfied.

>>156104572He's broken that promise repeatedly, because he's THE DEVIL and these characters were written with the brains of chewed on raisins.
>>156105403Thank you. you are correct there really wasn't a reason too post as it doesn't help your argument, but its still nice to read. Seems it saying he was trying to keep the gag going for as long as possible. also He didn't keep peter in Highschool and then had him in college, all while working in the professional environment of the bugle, doesn't really jive with him keeping peter young. This is irrelevant to Joey Q not respecting what Lee, the creator, did with the Marriage.
>>156104918>To most people a.k.a readers a.k.a. sales, Peter marrying MJ is just the natural progression of both of their characters.Nigga, comics are fucking niche. More people think MJ's ass than good.

>>156107808Shill spotted
Its wild how decades into this argument people still don't get that once the invisible hand of the author is made known as a consistent irritant, all happenings within the book lose any suspension of disbelief in regard to narrative structure and become objects of critique more than a proper story.Which is to say if your arguing that MJ is ruined because of X then its not going to work because for the people your arguing with Spider-Man stopped being a story with meaningful continuity and stakes and instead just became a sequence of authors blatantly impressing their egos on the franchise after OMD, and will continue to be so to them until the issues that caused the break immersive suspension in the first place are resolved.

>>156108129Which is exactly the issue that needs to be resolved If good faith engagement from those who soured thanks to OMD is to be restored. Spider-Editorial needs to be pulled out my the roots and the marriage needs to be reintegrated into the book and kept as a stable aspect at least for a period of time long enough for the readers sensitivity to be calmed which I'm going to be honest is decades at this point.
>>156084472>Wally and Lindalmao, this mindraped faggot still trying to campare and absolute b-slop character with Spider-Man, THE superhero.
>>156106677Have you ever heard of the monkey's paw? "Be careful what you wish for". There are a billion ways Mephisto could have taken their marriage. The top reason is because he wants the soul of the man and marriage so noble and pure that even TOAA has grown fond of him and them. It's quite honestly stupid. Queseda was thinking like a used car salesman at a dying car lot. Any attention no matter how negative can somehow translate into sales. He was more afraid of being forgotten then he was of creating something worth reading. Leading to absolutely stupid as shit decisions that are DARING yes and bring controversy, but ultimately destroy the basic core of the character and story and leaves the audience dizzy and untrusting of anything about the character. It's easy to destroy things for cheap attention and quick bucks if you've never worked for or achieved the level of creative success the collabrative character known as spiderman enjoyed. This is probably the most infamous idea in comics history. >>156100215It's worse then that. Instead of doing elseworld titles or keeping a comic around where they could tell self contained spiderman stories from any era, they decide to fuck over the main line. And it's not because they truly believe it will make for a better story or become something that will make the spiderman character better. It's nostalgia and ego. Not MY spiderman. You know what, they can have their mainline spiderman. Their fuck awful OMD and unmasking, and alternate dimension rape, and 1000 fucking retarded symbiote variants and yet another failed attempt at making doctor octopus or green goblin not suck.Just give us self contained alt universe spiderman with NONE of that in it.
>>156108570THE superhero who sold his wife and unborn kid to the devil to avoid responsibility. Some superhero.

>>156107671He's not undoing any of the deals, just making sure that Mephisto gets nothing out of them anymore. So, Peter gets to keep his Aunt May and his secret identity. Gwen stays dead. And Mephisto is no longer able to keep Harry Osborn's soul.

>>156110075OMD is still dead. Peter and MJ are on a slower burn, but they're going to have to deal with the fallout of all this. The only bit of his legacy that Quesada ever seemed to give a fuck about has now been shitcanned, and now Mephisto's headed down the same humiliation arc that Paul had shortly before he was killed off.
>>156110087Lowe was willing to Old Yeller Paul. If we keep on bullying him and humiliating, even more things might get to happen!
>>156110099MJ still chose Paul repeatedly, and Paul was never jailed for the crimes of killing a planet through negligence.Dead Language needs to be ripped up by the roots.
>>156110130Or just memory-hole it. Explain it as OMD and Mephisto shit making MJ go periodically crazy every time she gets too close to Peter, and now that the deal's finally been scrapped, she's free of all that nonsense.Hell, reveal Paul as an agent of Mephisto who sold his soul to get an escape from the world he murdered.
>>156110112people don't realize that paul ran his course and was a fake bone to throw since that gave us 2 years of mj venom was was arguably worse. as long as fucks like him are in charge it'll never happen
>>156110181I would take twenty years of VenoMJ over a single issue of Paul and Jackpot
>>156110165It would be better to save MJ's character which had to be absolutely sabotaged against everything we knew about her to make it work, hell goddamn College MJ would have smelt a fink better than Wells MJ.It's not something that will just go away either, Chip referenced the slap in an interview. And that was basically a single page dropped plotline from several decades ago. Rabin was multiple compounded runs of runoff.Of course then you're dealing openly with the fact that Dead Language crossed over into rape, at least by omission from a knowing party. The story as its presented is there, the characters just don't acknowledge it because Lowe doesn't want to have written that. And they want to stop the raped female lead thing in Marvel because then Gwen, Felicia and now MJ have all had it occur at some point. My best fix? Rabin was as fake as the kids, MJ was with a glorified bad dildo all these years supported by Mephisto magic. The discretion the deal affords him allows much leeway to fuck with their heads whenever marriage is approached. Just typical devil shenanigans.
>>156110258>>156110205>>156110181If you think about it, Paul was such garbage that he managed to take One More Day down with him.
>>156084388This. Buy nothing until they undo it. I don't care how inconvenient that is you shouldn't have done it in the first place
>>156084799Paul is canonically a virgin and repressed sodomite.
>>156110273I would have preferred a more peaceable retcon down the line by different next gen editors and writers, where MJ and Peter get some dignity apart even if the stories continued to be mid.Instead we're getting Chernobyl damage control by the same team of idiots who opened the submarines window. Don't expect the retcon or realignment to be done with anymore skill than Lowe showed setting the fires in the first place.
>>156084951I do think they should just restart from either ASM # 100 or ASM # 350
>>156110286Paul was trying to groom and molest Dylan Brock
>>156110296At least it's finally dead. Accelerationism works, and Zeb Wells did more to destroy BND and Quesada's legacy that Nick Spencer did.
Paul is such a blackhole of a character.Yes MJ would really fall for this. Did she ever say she loved him? Or did she become her mother and stayed in a loveless relationship for the kids? Do you think this will ever be commented on?
>>156110316>Do you think this will ever be commented on?No, but it might get brushed aside as more Mephisto-fuckery.
>>156110313Not dead, they'll pull a new OMIT and say look the deal is gone, but all the consequences of the deal are still there. We have Kelly at the helm for the reconciliation. Prepare for some fuckery.
>>156086461>>156086522You'd think they would learn after ruining Star Wars of all things, but no.
>>156110326Raelith is on her way out, and MJ is on her way back in. This happened under Kelly, after all.
>>156110358A hug and gone, ask for more than breadcrumbs after how Kelly portrayed her in Wells at the spa, or all of Death Spiral.I'm not trying to be a doomer anon, I'm just recognizing patterns. We will not be seeing anything genuinely done new and gold until BND oldheads are gone.
>>156110405I think they'll slow-roll things gradually up until whatever the hell 1 Day is supposed to be in June next year.
>>156110443That's the best case I'm thinking, maybe it all returns in flashes 'slowly' to draw it out, meanwhile I strongly suspect Kelly is going to be replaced by someone who actually wants to write a relationship. THE relationship. Hopefully not Chip, sorry bud but your interview shows you're not the guy. It would be grand if we could get JMS back so we get a full circle fix, but that's pie in the sky stuff, especially since I don't think Wacker has the best relationship with him.Or with a new EIC, how about someone FUCKING NEW? Or Tobin. Tobin would be solid.
I don't care about Peter being happy I just want to see Gwenschizo miserable. Paul's death wasn't enough for me yet, I want to see Mephisto humiliated and then raped by Miracle Man so I can lord it over him for all time.
>>156110526He's having a meltdown over his beloved Mephisto going through this endless humiliation ritual.

I would just be happy if Dr.Strange side eyes peter and says "GODDAMNIT PARKER" before doing some magic to pull what looks like helllfire off of him and the entire 616 starts changing. All of the garbage storylines and shit characters everyone gives less then zero fucks about(paul, dylan brock, all of the symbiote bullshit, everything to do with the spock and flash venom storylines I can go on) dissapears and we start with peter and mj sitting in their apartment talking about moving back in together after their seperation.

The onus is on Spoffice to win back the crowd.I see nothing of worth beyond the usual key jangling of what they should have walked back decades ago.
>>156112986That's what the Spider Office is being forced to do, yeah. Between the thousandth issue falling flat, all the bad PR over Paul, and them being exiled from NYC en masse with daddy Disney breathing down their necks, they can't really keep fucking around just for sake of spite.
>Paul humiliated and dead>Mephisto humiliated and raped>One More Day burnt to the ground>Ben Reilly is no longer a bad guy>MJ free of both Paul and Venom>MJ already states she has zero interest in Flash>Iron Man now too busy getting raped in prison to go after MJ>Spider-Man acknowledged as the only superhero running around that doesn't have his head up his ass and is now leading the AvengersPerch was right all along. I'm not picking up ASM anytime soon, but I'll probably get Zdarsky's avengers. And at least keep a cautious and careful eye on what's going on in ASM.
>>156111739I still remember their bitching over my Minus One pitch
>>156111739For Quesada it's like watching his dad die a second time.
>>156113454Zdarsky's is a OMD apologist and a antimarriage bleater of the MJ by the windowsill drum, so only get his avengers on its own merits if you like it.Do not buy into goddamn key jangling by the guys who burnt down the house behind it.
>>156113593He kind of has to be, to not get Nick Spencer'd. They literally screwed over Spencer's run because he dared to even imply that we should get rid of OMD.Zdarsky has to play politics. But he played it effectively, given that he managed to time his story just right to finally get OMD shuttered. Most of Quesada's old cronies were shitcanned pretty recently, including Cebulski, daddy Disney is breathing down their necks, and they have to do something to get ground back over Absolute. They finally did something I liked so I buy, and if they try to rug-pull again I no more buy!
>>156113664Midnight isn't working because it entirely misunderstands the philosophy behind Absolute. A big hurdle is the cultural ignorance of most current writers and artists, after the 2008 recession most basically stopped paying attention to the issues in western culture as a whole.
>>156113707They keep acting like Enrage to Engage still works like it did in 2008 even though digital piracy is completely trivial nowadays.
>>156113721I feel like an ASM reboot would have the opportunity to explore what a post-recession reimagining of Peter would be like.
>>156113746An ASM reboot would mean this current tepid aged and drought-struck pool of talent would no longer have the shoulders of giants to stand on anymore. It's the biggest problem of any reboot or ground-up retcon, the same people who got us here are there, again and again the same problem. The Shogun gone and many of the higher ups shaken and moved around is by far the whitest pill we have ever gotten in recent years, however so long as Lowe is there and likely Wacker don't count on a ASM return to the top.
>>156113721I think that plus Brevoorts QR code fiasco shows how comically out of touch these boomers and late gen-xers are with the digital age, and what the young audience is actually consuming and how.
>>156113784We haven't seen the full effects of this change in leadership hit downstream just yet. Likely Lowe's just keeping the seat warm for the next guy. We're still in a "transition phase" wrapping up old Cebulski plotlines now. But honestly, I hadn't expected OMD getting killed during a transition phase.
>>156113791I wouldn't have want it, because they would only do it during a transition phase if the actual effects would be half-assed or minimal.Dollars to donuts MJ and Peter are going to be 'time apart' until the next writer actually comes in to fix this shit, assuming Kelly doesn't just sink it.
>>156114021Kelly's already working on putting Raelith on a bus, he gives no fucks about Shay, so unless he's either he's making another Gwen Stacy rehash, making Felicia more than just a casual hookup, or creating an entirely new OC out of whole cloth even though the readers are already clear they're not interested, there's really nowhere else for him to go but MJ
Still wild that the biggest shakeup Spider-Man has had since maybe Superior was caused by Doctor Doom, in a Captain America book.
>>156108822> Instead of doing elseworld titles or keeping a comic around where they could tell self contained spiderman stories from any era, they decide to fuck over the main line.Surely there must be a breaking point where it’s harder to keep them apart than together. There’s at least three alternate universes where they’re together not to mention the spider verse and Raimi movies. Everyone knew they would get together eventually, especially given the hanging thread of Mayday foiling Mephisto. Even the title “one more day” reekd of a desperate, fleeting attempt to recapture the glory days, but only for a limited period.
>>156114195Comic writers resent having to write things that don't involve guys in costumes punching each other. That's why Peter can't have friends or a girlfriend/wife.
>>156114382You know editorial and Kelly will do nothing right? People talking how this will change ASM are beyond naive.
>>156114489They’re going to have to do something, or accept an incredible amount of backlash from angry fans on Zdarsky’s behalf. Zdarsky made it clear: if people feel disappointed, it won’t be his fault. It’ll be the Spider-Office’s fault.
>>156114529The smartest man in comics.
>>156114529All they're going to do is make them remember the deal and do OMIT 2.0, with one of them telling the other to love someone else because they aren't meant to be.
>>156114647Even that would cause a massive backlash. They're honestly better off ignoring it than doing that.
>>156114647They’d just shoot themselves in the foot. Either they give in or accept that they’re screwed over until Lowe is fired. They let themselves get checkmated, Zdarsky simply played politics better.
>>156114716>>156114784>20 years of OMD>4 years of PaulYou folks will never learn.
>>156114953They already killed Paul, and they in fact just killed OMD. If they thought they were untouchable, then they wouldn’t be flailing desperately now.
>>156115231Time to post le epic Minotaur face again.
>>156115512They’re not doing a self parody. They’re genuinely buckling out of exhaustion. They’re acquiescing to “toxic” fans because they’re panicking. They’re not pretending to be in on any joke or being playful about this, that shit died as early as Dead Language.
>>156115645Lowe told Ewing to kill Paul in DS after all the necessary damage to her character was finished, the same dude who greenlighted him in first place, then he mocked the fans through MJ complete disdain for Peter and endless teases with Flash. How can you guys read this type of stuff and think you're "winning" in any shape or form is beyond me.
>>156113721Enrage to engage only gets people to pick up the issue and MIGHT get a few comic shops to pick up because Marvel promises them more sales. But the rage is aimed at the writers and creators who decided to do stupid shit that ruins their characters with infuriating storylines and stupid explanations for said storylines. Not any situations that offer catharsis or skillfully inspires emotional states that can be entertaining. It's an open lack of skill and admittance that they can't sell nor understand the character and what the audience wants from them.
>>156115818They botched it and couldn’t appease people by just killing off Paul and calling it good, so now they’re scrapping OMD next. We’ve gotten way more trades with Peter in the last few weeks than we ever got with Flash in the past year. Paul is dead, Flash isn’t going to be Paul 2.0, Mephisto is getting raped, and MJ will be back with Peter. I’m not expecting the marriage to come back or for them not to screw this up somehow, but Marvel is murdering its own sacred cow right in front of our eyes now, and they wouldn’t do this if they thought they were winning. They sabotaged Spencer’s run to preserve OMD five years ago, ruined everything anyways, and then had to take OMD out behind the shed and kill it themselves anyways. What’s the next step in their master plan, anon?
>>156114382Spock isn't a shake up. It's retreading old ground with a storyline that would be at best an interesting what if that DEPENDS on the entire universe becoming retarded at the same time.
>>156115900Well, that’s why I said “maybe.” But if that’s not the case then, yeah, this is definitively the biggest shakeup the books had since OMD.
>>156115818The post-Spencer attempts at making people hate MJ haven't succeeded and they're looking more and more desperate. While I don't expect things to get better in the short term, they have been uncomfortable with attention to OMD basically the entire time so it's not necessarily a new development, Marvel is in a worse position now than they have been in a long time. They're not beating DC anymore. Disney seems displeased with them. The new Ultimate Spider-Man outsold ASM. It's not hard to see how that might push them to make changes.Still not buying, still not convinced, and Lowe is still the worst editor at Marvel, but it will be interesting to see if they pivot at all and how much.
>>156115967And the most delicious part is that people were perfectly willing to let OMD go if they just kept Peter and MJ together. But, no, they couldn’t even do that, and now One More Day is a constant talking point that people will not let go of anymore, because they fucked up. Zeb Wells, through Paul, destroyed One More Day, destroyed Brand New Day, and destroyed the one thing from Quesada’s tenure as EIC that he ever thought was worth a damn.
Instead of dumping beer on Axel Alonso, and I dump water or beer on Lowe, will he suddenly melt into a puddle on the ground?
>>156116069We’ll have to find out!
>>156116143What?! CAN I GET A HELL YEAH!?
>>156115871In my experience people are willing to steal the books they hate but read out of obligation, and buy the books they actually like.
>>156110091Mary Jane was always a stone cold bitch until the 80s when a few ascended fanboys decided to smooth away the edges of her personality.
>>156116282>turning to drugs because a woman is uninterested in you is the woman’s fault!>if you commit genocide but feel sad about it, you did nothing wrong!Zeb Wells is that you?Your run was SHIT.
>>156114382There's no shakeup. They made up a problem and then "solved" it. Typical illusion of change sleight of hand.
>>156109020THE superhero with the third-highest-grossing film of all time. Enjoy being mind rapped, b-slop shill.
>>156108146No it is not since he left marvel long ago if he was still with marvel today then it would matter.
>>156116391For twenty years the status quo was OMD. OMD has been around for far longer than Gwen Stacy was alive. And it was shit. All problems in comics are self inflicted, but this is still the end of an utterly shit era.
>>156116282You left out almost the entire 70s which lends a lot more credence to this supposed "smoothing away" taking place actually over a more gradual span of time that you chose to gloss over, faggot. Those pages take place right before a major turning point you retard.
>>156116626The status quo is still "OMD." Peter and Mary Jane were never married. They have no memory of ever being married. The era hasn't ended.
>>156116658Mary Jane as written by Len Wein in the 70s before Marv Wolfman had her tell Peter to fuck off when he proposed and then wrote her out of the title for years.
>>156116777The deal is annulled, and at a minimum both Peter and MJ are going to find out what happened and unpack all of that angst. Which is kind of what people have been clamoring for, for a while now.
>>156116861Ah, back from your ban already, Polish pedo.
>>156116856>The deal is annulledThere was no "deal" to annul. They made up some bullshit that was never implied by the original story or OMIT.>at a minimum both Peter and MJ are going to find out what happened and unpack all of that angst. I have a bridge to sell you.
>>156109898Hey if eeditoral figures >Let's do a story in which doom will reverse ALL of Mephisto's dealsWell then that's exacly what they will do you can't stop them since you do not work for Marvel.
>>156116890>They made up some bullshit that was never implied by the original story or OMIT.Quesada insists that OMIT retconned the deal in OMD too, it’s just nobody gives a shit because why would anyone who disliked OMD give a fuck about OMIT?Either way, OMD is shitcanned and Lowe has to deal with it.
>>156116939>eeditoralI don’t know this word.
>>156116856>The deal is annulled, aNo it is NOT since they traded their marriiage not their soul.
>>156116970Mephisto organizes his files into soul-based and non-soul-based transactions and Doom only checked the filing cabinet marked SOULS. Boy, what a dope.
>>156116970And now they’re no longer under any requirement to stay unmarried! Too bad, so sad! Poor Mephisto! He’s being RAPED!
>>156117008Mephisto already lost to Doom, Miracle Man is going to RAPE him.
>>156116223In my experience, people tend to not steal things they hate and not actually take the time or tiny bit of effort to attain it freely. I have no fucking clue where you get this from. I think it's more to do with how people who create absolute fucking garbage try to handwaive entirely inorganic views of easily proven to be bullshit purchase of trash product to investors and advertisers.
>>156117025I myself have done nothing but pirate Spider-Man comics since OMD happened. Stay mad.
>>156116962So i did a small misspell on my half so what? at any rate that was not shitpost if marvel decides to do something like that then they will do it therre is nothing yoo can do about it. Bear in mindt he ones work at marvel do vist 4chan and some of them do read these posts.
>>156116522Said hero has absolutely nothing to do with the comics beyond being spiderman. The comics are completely rotted at this point and enrage to engage has created controversy, but it hasn't materialized into popularity sales or survivability. As a matter of fact, it's at most a "man this omd shit/the current comics fucking suck" while people discuss the idea and favorite storylines of spiderman is the most they'll get. Outside of that it's total apathy coming from an inability to emotionally invest in the stories because of OMD. No one can really care about a character who's sole defining trait is shitting on the character and infuriating the fanbase.
>>156117021>PLEASE NO I’LL GIVE THE MARRIAGE BACK DON’T—>Nobody wants to hear it, Krampus
>>156117007That's not how it works souls and marriages are two different things thus the deal is stll valiid.
>>156116947Are they married? Do they remember being married? The answers to both these questions is no. Zdarsky didn't do shit. He even says in the interview linked above that he thought the marriage was boring and thought Brand New Day was awesome. He just didn't care for the particular way the marriage was written out.
>>156117062I just wanted to know what “eeditoral” is so we can have an actual conversation that’s all.
>>156117112>Do they remember being married? The answers to both these questions is no.We literally don’t know that yet!
>>156117102Yeah, Doom skipped over the marriage files because he was focused on souls like a total fucking amateur.
>>156117008>And now they’re no longer under any requirement to stay unmarried! Too bad, so sad! Poor Mephisto! He’s being RAPED!They are not getting back their memories if that's what you think since they are no memories to give back, The deal caused Mephisto to change the past not empty their heads of their memories
>>156116833Dear oldsters in the spiderman offices,616 gwen stacey as a waifu candidate for Spiderman is now entirely untenable. She was canonically dead longer then mj and peter parker were married and the next gen of comic readers genuinely give less then zero fucks about her.Mainly because of the Gwen Stacey knock off you created to keep the character around entirely supplanted her in the minds of zoomers and gen alpha. You got your stacey, but the pathetic gwen stacey "OH NOES MUH GWEN" stories you're going to that dry muck filled well to drudge up for cheap drama from...no one who is still reading are done.
>>156117146He skipped nothing again souls and marriages are two different things.
>>156117102Zdarsky already confirmed, every deal Mephisto made is already voided including OMD. I know that this is a hard thing for you, being such a big fan of OMD and Mephisto but… they raped your hero.>I just thought about the idea of, like, Doom take -- winning in the end, and just taking over Hell, and what does that mean? What does that look like? And one of the things I just thought of was like, 'Well, like, Doom -- Doom's not a slave owner. He's not that level of evil. Like, he wouldn't want to own souls. That's owning people, right? And so, whatever contracts that Mephisto drew up for that, like, no, Doom -- Doom is not going to honor those. Like, that's -- that's -- that's ridiculous.' Um, which, you know, obviously there's a -- a famous contract in Amazing Spider-Man... So, you know, there's going to be -- there's going to be some ripples there.>there's going to be some ripples there.>there's going to be some ripples there.>there's going to be some ripples there.
>>156117175Yeah, they're in different filing cabinets.
>>156117161Get ready to cry hard MJ fans once Doom does reveerse all of mephisto's deals.if i were working for marvel then exactly's what I would do.
>>156117152>they are no memories to give backWho are no memories to get back? What does that mean? Did you to say “THERE are no memories to give back” or did you mean something else? Please clarify.
>>156117178He's giving you vague hopium so you'll promote Marvel's books for free. You've been conned.
>>156117200Good. One More Day is gone forever!
>>156117199>Yeah, they're in different filing cabinets.Yeah like smart and dumb guess whict filing cabinet you go in.
>>156117214If he’s lying, then Marvel can enjoy all the backlash this will get them.>>156117230Smart! You however… are dumb…
>>156117225And Gwen will soon be back along with harry
>>156117230He doesn't have different filing cabinets for smart and dumb deals because they're all dumb.
>>156117250Harry will be back, Gwen already came back as Spider-Gwen
>>156117250They're going to merge 616 and 6160 so Gwen will be married to Harry and Peter will be married to Mary Jane, just as God intended.
>>156117302And Gwen will be a HUGE UNDEAD BITCH and also MYSTERIO like she was meant to be.
If Gwenschizo did more to support the comics One More Day would still be a thing and Mephisto would not have be getting raped. THIS IS ALL GWENSCHIZO’S FAULT MEPHISTO FANS.
>>156117358So… it’s Gwenschizo’s fault that Mephisto was raped… well he seems like the kind of guy who agrees with rape…
>>156117392GWENSCHIZO YOU BETRAYED ME!
>>156117440Mephisto was all set to bring Gwen back to life too but now he won’t. He won’t because he was raped.
>>156117249He's not lying. Kelly will write a few "Yeah, that happened" words and then move on.
>>156117974And we’ll be waiting until around June next year and whatever 1 Day is for some actual movement, I know.Either way, I won’t ever have to hear about Mephisto in these fucking books again. Or at least not more than I keep hearing about Paul.
>>156117082Just a lot of words to said "I enjoy shilling for a culturally irrelevant character"
>>156084226>Meanwhile in her new ongoing MJ is getting ready to fuck Flash or TonyIt's even worse now once she gets her memory restored
>>156118252It’s hard to fear a villain that’s been raped.
>>156118252The only time Mephisto was ever mentioned in Amazing Spider-Man after OMIT was when Spencer tried to drag him into it because he wanted to undo it. No one else cares, not Slott or Wells. Kelly poked the bear with his Deadpool/Spider-Man run years ago and hasn't mentioned him at all in Amazing.
>>156118318She already said she’s not interested in Flash, and Tony is going to be far too busy being raped in prison to try anything. These days, anyone who gets in Spider-Man’s way ends up raped. He’s a goddamn menace!
>>156118357Then I’d just like to bully Gwenschizo over Mephisto having been raped.
>>156118374>She already said she’s not interested in FlashThat was in a comic written by a filthy man. The Amazing Mary Jane is written by an emancipated woman who knows what women love. Being a whore is a matter of pride.
>>156118396Women are not real, anon, they can't hurt you.
>>156118396You just seem like you’re grasping for the most negative possible reading to every situation. I just want to smile about the fact that I lived long enough to finally see One More Day shitcanned.
>>156118464It's like you're not familiar with DC/Marvel hiring sub-par women because they're ''nice'' to work with. Tini Howard spent 2 weeks on Catwoman before making up a new OC and to fuck while self-inserting as Selina. Gail is doing the same thing with Rogue and Gambit at the moment.
>>156118374David Colton will complete his redemption arc by raping the Ultimate Evil, Mephisto, to death.
>>156118481Gail is extremely nice to Rogue and Gambit, and was basically the only one to belittle Paul. Even Al Ewing was reluctant to do that.
>>156118495Simone belittled Paul by turning him into a stereotype of a guy she hates rather than hating him for being himself.
>Calling Flash TigerDead on arrivalhttps://aiptcomics.com/2026/10/30/marvel-preview-friendly-neighborhood-mary-jane-1/
>>156117094Colton-sama I kneel
>>156118482>David, you can’t! This is too much!>Sorry, Peter. But this has to end. He’s pure evil. It’s like your Uncle Ben sometimes said as part of his lesser known catchphrases that he definitely said to you at least once: “the only way to stop the Devil…>…Is to rape him.” All right David. Do what you need to.
>>156118541Peter lost his exclusivity to that a long time ago.Ashley Allen's definitely self-inserting there with MJ's new gig.
>>156118541>making out with Peter page 1lol calm down
>You were the first one I wanted to tellAnd you fags were hopeful, kek
>>156118481I haven't been keeping up with Uncanny, but considering that Rogue and Gambit have been consistently depicted as very horny for each other for decades, it's pretty in-character for them to fuck, anon. Do you just not want comic characters to have sex ever? If you just hate sex, that's fine, but that's a you problem.Tini Howard does suck at writing comics, though. No arguments there.
>>156118637It's so obvious what this retard is writing and yet people here are coping this mini won't end with them fucking at the very least
>>156118637He’s not going to be your Paul 2.0 nigga.
>>156118707People were predicting it for about two years now? It’s not happening. You’re easily baited.
>>156118708Mary Jane's been putting the moves on Flash since the 70s, it was his own integrity that put a stop to it.
>>156118730Ewing has a bit more reputation at stake than a random chick who's written two minis in 3 years
>>156118730Because Carlos was openly talking how he was never going to draw it so we knew it wouldn't happen with Ewing, with Allen only God knows.
>>156118754>>156118764>>156118784She hugged Peter in 1001 and she’s cordial but not intimate with Flash. Do you just not want her to talk to *any* man for a good few years or so?
>>156118836Nigger, the issue starts with her calling Flash ''Tiger'' and telling him he's the first she wanted to share news about her life with. I know you've never interacted with a woman, but this is a pretty clear indicator of what this woman is wanting to write.
>>156118871The whole thing where she supposedly only calls Peter Tiger hasn’t been a thing in a long time.Second, she’s still stuck being bonded a bit of Venom and Flash is still bonded to anti-Venom! Is she so craving Flash’s dick so bad that she’ll either risk death or errors force Flash to be a full-time paraplegic just in the off chance he wants her poon?
The only saving grace is this panel since it implies she's willing to go back to Peter's world and try again.
>>156118913*or else force Flash
>>156118923It honestly seems she’s upset about not being with Peter, and just as upset about not getting to be a superhero. She’s trying to convince herself she’s suited for neither.
>>156118541Mary Jane is from Pittsburgh, not Queens. Fuck this mini, they've already irredeemably fucked it all up.
>>156118374>Tony is going to be far too busy being raped in prison to try anything. To fair tony already built a fucking ice armor once, i fully expect him to build the model 80 with toilets and plastic spoons
>>156119006She lived next door to Peter in Queens while staying with Anna, and moved back there for college.
>>156119016>Tony snaps after being raped and builds armor to rape the other inmates with.
So will this have an effect on the deals made by>Miles>Otto>Loki?
>>156118923"It couldn't last" Not "didn't." "Couldn't."
>>156119044Mary Jane never actually went to college in Stan Lee's run, that's something retconned in many decades later.
>>156119080The editors wouldn’t let it.
>>156119105The narration is written from MJ's perspective who wouldn't know what goes on in the minds of editors.
>>156119095Then she moved to Queens to run out on her sister and become an actress. That’s where she’s lived the longest though.
>>156119080Couldn't last because she was powerless, now she has Fang to fend herself if shit hits the fan
>>156119111And yet the only part of it she seems to regret is that it ended.
>>156118374Why Tony is in jail?
>>156118913That’s a good point. Like, Fang and Anti-Venom might as well as be chastity belts as far as a relationship is concerned.
>>156119208Probably killed a kid in a DUI or something, that drunken slob.
>>156119223>Hehe, glug glug glug!t. Tony Stark
>>156084226I... don't care.
>>156116799What does that prove faggot? That writers with the wrong ideas compared to Gerry (then), forced a regression and DeFalco decided to reconcile these OOC events into becoming part of her character by writing a backstory that actually had it make rational sense? Yeah compare what you posted and what came after and it is leagues simpler than post-OMD retarded schizophrenic arcs and justifications for blatant editorial apathy and indecision/incompetence. Your bait is weak.
>>156117302doom will prevent 616 and 6160 from mergeing being the ruler of hell.
>>156117199>Yeah, they're in different filing cabinets.your own words are defeat you anon think about this you have two tfiling cabinets one is forr soul the other is for marriages. At a certain point you think "gosh I only need one filing cabinet the one with souls the other is now disposable"
>>156118923ahhh so maybe she does remember the marriage but that would mean she does remember the deal. and yet she left peter for paul anyway so she be whore.
>>156119657Now that Doom emptied out the one with souls, he only needs the one for marriages.
>>156119735>>156119657Mephisto is badly disorganized, due to being a rape victim now.
>>156119809Mephisto probably liked being raped he be whore.
>>156119802>These fling cabinets are terribly organized!>Marriages here, souls there!>One day Doom shall rape Mephisto again for this affront!
>>156118969Oh this is rich the next thing is she may think is>Maybe had Gwen lived it would have been that she found the truth about Peter being spider-man and they two of them would have worked better then me in his crazy world. Ready to call it quits yet MJ fans?
>>156119735Polish people can’t read text they just look at the pretty pictures.
>>156119887>and they two of themWhat? Explain this part, I’m confused.
>>156119485This is also what Gerry was writing back then.
>>156119927>tigers>pluralTHE WHORE!!!!
>>156119906In Poland they don’t have a written language they use simple ideograms instead.
>>156117178>Well, like, Doom -- Doom's not a slave owner. He's not that level of evil. Like, he wouldn't want to own soulsWhat the fuck was the suffering factory in OWUD then?
When the fuck is all this taking place in relation to ASM and MJ's mini?
>>156119922is it not obvious gwen learns the truth about her faher's death from peter and and what happens next pretty much plays out the same what happened in the what if story, So they get married so and later Gwen not only figures she was wrong about spider-man but that she finds his world rather exciting despite it being raher crazy. and wellyou can pretty much guess what happens next,
>>156119927do you guys not understand she was attempting to make peter jealous?
>>156119117She didn't need it for decades before. There is no faith nor skill in what made her work and actually grew her popularity. If she were introduced for the first time ever now, she would be a more attractive Shay. Her faith, loyalty and chemistry have been utterly undermined, and they think giving her a mini of her girl bossing as she bantz and fauns with the Spider cast without addressing the Rabin elephant in the room is going to sell.I sense a slightly less offensive Jackpot mini.
>>156120022All after, we're not going to get any real movement if any at all until June.
>>156118836A decade or two
>>156119987He was seduced by power and even more insidiously, globalism.
>>156120033>faher'sSorry, I had to stop reading there. What’s a “faher?” Is that how you say “father” in Polish or is it something else. I can’t read the rest of your post until you clarify.
>>156119906Oh and and what makes you sure she does no remembert the marriage or the deal?does she not go>I feel in love and was thrust into spider-man's world.Granted she does bring up the marriage word but it could be a hint that she DOES remember it
>>156120118So sue me for english not being my native language we all make mistakes so knock it off will you.
Gwenschizo uwielbia ssać fiuta Lowe'a
>>156120119>remembertI don’t know this word.
>>156120138I need to know what “faher” is, I promise I’ll read the rest of your post afterwards but I need a full understanding.
>>156118836Flash is fine in a vacuum. But this mini comes after Kelly and Ewing b8ed the ship at the worst possible time for MJ. So no, no Flash until damage is fixed. She needs fixing, and actual prioritising of the relationships that made her popular out of universe. Bring in her Aunt and sister to lambast her for the 'thrashing around' as she takes stock of her actual lifes direction since Dead Language.
>>156120143Do you know the words thread is almost dead?R.I.P. have a nice day now
>>156120173Good idea, I’ll make a new thread after this one. Thanks for reminding me.
>>156120179Not interested in the least*yawn*
>>156120230See you in the next thread, pedo.
>>156120300Still not interested
>>156120319Doesn't matter, you're going to be there.
>>156118836Flash's last appearance outside of urgent QiB stuff was him longingly looking at MJ's picture. MJ hasn't ever shot down the straightforward discussion that they have some form of attraction or romantic interest in him. It's not really talking to "any man," it's that we need a break from her prioritizing anyone but Peter, especially when she knows they're romantically interested and she is too... because we don't want Paul 2.0.It's especially annoying because Flash is ostensibly still supposed to be one of Peter's best friends. He was best man in their wedding. So it runs the double problem of having him betray his friend after becoming a good person, and likely running back into the same issues we had with Peter and Paul, where the modern incarnation of Pete is going to tell MJ how great of a guy Flash is on every panel, and a better partner for her than he could ever be... for reasons. Pairing Flash and MJ would be Marvel ignoring one of the *major* reasons we hated the Paul scenario. They think it's because MJ is fans' waifu and ship baiting, but specifically it's that it turned Peter into what's close enough to a cuck.
>>156119927All that shows to me is Gerry is still writing Peter as recovering from Gwen's death and even after MJ comforted him in that epilogue page, he still is skeptical of MJ's new attitude and subtle changes. He is still angry and confused about that whole event and placing trust onto MJ isn't easy from his shoes. You're a dense faggot trying to grasp for any piece of support where there is none if you're literate.
>>156120420Has MJ shown any actual interest in him apart from the hormone thing that was incredibly vague on who it was actually supposed to be about?
At best you'll get OMD being addressed and Peter and MJ rebuilding their relationship, but that's it
>>156120524At best, Lowe will be publicly humiliated. At worst, Lowe will be publicly (metaphorically) castrated and ultimately so humiliated in the future that it will all he us remembered by and it will be so total that almost the entire BND crew will KNEEL.
>>156120420Flash at #900 had me kind of gobsmacked, the amount of character assassination they could fit in a panel.Like buddy did you hit your head and regress to highschool for that party? Why are you talking this way with Peter who you saw last when?
>>156120421That page happened after #149 when they officially got together. This was her thought process after Gwen's death by the way.
