"Aunt Dee Dee, what is disco?""Just something that happened a long time ago and it's never ever coming back. So don't you worry."

>>156071947I dunno but it's like they assumed that albums would just vanish.
>>156071947Free and earnest expression will always be mocked by the self repressed.
>>156071947Watch people try to make Rap popular again. Then you'll understand.
>Mom, what's Ska?
>>156071941>soon enough we'll get Disco Nostalgia than it'll come back with a furyThat already happened in the 90s

Dance music never went away. It's like pointing at old school 50's rock'n'roll being passe and saying "Rock is dead, never again pompadours and suede shoes". It didn't die, we just got new genres that appeal more to a modern listener.
>>156071909monoculture is dead, no music genre will ever become popular nationally.except for filthy kpop.
>>156071909>aired right when Jamiroquai became a thingLMAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
>>156072224kpop is just 90s music's beats (any genre) recycled with new korean lyrics

>>156071909I really need to fuck Angelica
>>156072289Thank fucking you. Most of Kpop has been (and even American music started jumping on the trend) of reusing older songs and beats. They literally just…sing over or slightly adjust the lyrics. I could ramble on the topic for days, but since this isn’t /mu/, I’ll restrain.

>>156071941>soon enough we'll get Disco Nostalgiawe have that now with House Music
>>156071909I once saw someone say that Disco is the only thing the Boomers ever created that's actually unambiguously good, so of course it's the one thing they're embarrassed about.
>>156079597Yeah this is probably true lol.
>>156071941disco has explicitly been back since the 2010swhile disco influence on other genres has only gotten strongerto say nothing of europe, where disco never died in the first place and continued to be a mainstream genre that eventually evolved into its own discoand to top it all off, the disco die-off didnt actually stop discodisco artists just label slapped their music as "dance music" and continued to sell moderately well
>>156071941Nah our version of disco was dubstep. But i dont think people fuck with dubstep anymore.
>>156079597Makes sense as to why they killed it then.
>>156081393it was unironically bitter rock fansthe mastermind behind the infamous disco bonfire was a rock DJ who was fired after refusing to play disco music when the studio rebranded and never let that go
