This might be one of the worst cartoons I have ever seen from the early 2000s. What did /co/ think of it?
>>
it's kino. an all-male cast. no women or fluffy stuff, just time travel shenanigans
>>
>>156063677
Not as bad as Mike Lu & Og
>>
>>156063677
I remember liking it as a kid, but I don't remember much about it.
>>
>>156063708
>no women
We see the big fella's ex-wife in one of the episodes and some historic figures are female.
>>
>>156063677
Pretty funny, liked the dark history humor it had, even if it did some history stuff inaccurately.

>>156063835
Both are good
>>
It would’ve been kino as an adult show where they have to make sure bad things happen to save the timeline.
>>
>>156063677
I remember liking it. But I also remember only ever catching a handful of episodes and they were only ever aired in that weird time slot between Adult Swim and regular Cartoon Network at five in the morning.
>>
>>156063677
I never watched it. Couldn't stand the art style
>>
Old /co/ used to like Time Squad.
>>
>>
It's premise was cool, it was just kinda bad. The fact that it's a "cartoon cartoon" is kinda crazy. I really liked Larry, but maybe I just liked gay robots.
>>
>>156063677
>that episode where they met Hitler
>>
>>156065946
good lord how old is this image? it doesn't give king of the hill or venture bros an end year yes i know

He means the main cast stupid.

That's before he was even considered a bad guy, Based/

I remember the big marketing push this show had in my country. In whole region. I did not have cable tv. I still don't have cable tv.
>>
>>156065946
Better times, anon better days, better anons. Perhaps I’m the butter anon here.
>>
>>156067663
>in my country
what fuckin' country? bulgaria?
>>
>>156063677
I liked the show, it was just kinda dry at times though.
It's hard to pin why it doesn't quite land, since the odd couple dynamic between Buck Tuddrussel and Larry 3000 works well, and the premise of going back in time to prevent itself from unravelling by fixing divergences in canonical historical events is cool.
The execution is just kinda lacking.

Mark Hamill did a great job as Larry 3000 though.
>>
>>156067719
That was Luke Skywalker? I had no idea
>>
>make thread about one of the most liked underrated gems of the era

every time. Of course it's never actual shit cartoons like Juniper Lee or Rocket Power, or Whatever slop was playing on the Disney Channel in the early to mid 2000's. It's always stuff that's universally agreed to be good
>>156065946
OP is ragebaiting. Also the fact this list has shit like Wakfu, Moral Orel and El Tigre are on here shows they use to have shit taste as well.

Good job, OP. You got me to reply.
It was great. As stated, one of those underrated hidden gems of its era that would've been better received if it came out just a few years later, like Sheep in the Big City.

Time Squad manages to remain less obscure and forgotten than the creator's next show. Netflix made sure of THAT.

This is one of those shows I can't help but associate with bad childhood memories, because I remember enjoying the cartoon and being excited for the "Abraham Lincoln" episode from all the promos airing the week previous. The night the episode was to air I rushed to excitedly watch it in front of the TV but that very evening my parents got home and proceeded to have an hours-long screaming fight with each other that lasted all night. I can't remember where in the house I hid, but I naturally missed the episode and I don't think I ever really watched it again. Thank you for my Ted Talk.

I had a similar experience with Freaknik. It was an hour long special. I was in college, and about ten minutes in, my parents took me away to go to the hospital because one of my mom's friends tried to kill herself and we went to go visit. Turns out she only threatened to kill herself and didn't actually do anything harmful. Still haven't watched Freaknik to this day.

why did this show never have home release? did they just hate it

Technically they do with inadvertently making sure Napoleon goes off to Waterloo, and also making sure Blackbeard stays a pirate instead of becoming a liberal activist.

The answer to this and every other cartoon that they did not shill merch for is yes.

I feel like this show is pretty much only funny to people who already know history, but it is very funny if you do.
>>
>>156089681
It's the closest thing we'll ever get to a Hark, a Vagrant cartoon.

>>156067620
I've been wanting to make an storyboard for this episode for a long time.

>starts normal with Otto giving exposition about Hitler being one of the most evil men in history
>they travel back to early 1930s (the show was always fast and loose with specfiics)
>they find Hitler but he doesn't have his mustache
>turns out Hitler is a really happy go lucky guy who is a dear friend and ally of the Jewish community
>The Time Squad need to get Hitler to hate Jews in order to maintain the timeline
>They try to use all the typical Jewish stereotypes to get him riled up, such as framing them for raising interest rates at the bank, controlling the media etc.
>It's a montage of failures as Hitler excuses everything
>Otto then realizes that Hitler has been working on his art throughout the episode. After he shows all three of them his portfolio they sneakily suggest he puts on a gallery for his Jewish friends
>There's a grand opening to Hitler's exhibition and all the Jews are there.
>He reveals his art and it's all shit. All the Jews start laughing and ridiculing him for his ineptitude.
>Hitler gets enraged after having his art criticised and angrily grows his mustache and starts breaking his art in rage.
>Time Squad goes home, feeling awkward about what they've caused even though it's for the greater good.

Any suggestions?

I would've had it where Hitler actually got accepted into the art school that canonically rejected him, rather than have him be just happy-go-lucky for no reason. I would also play around with the moral dilemma of Tuddrussel, Otto, and Larry having to help start WWII. Like, maybe have Larry support Hitler's artistic pursuits while Tuddrussell is fighting the urge to kill him. Meanwhile, Otto, being a naive kid, is more focused on completing the mission than the other two.

This is sad. A bot that keeps dumping on-topic images that are otherwise making it pointless. I swear, the board's beyond repairable. I've even seen a /v/ or a /g/ thread posted out of it's board here this morning. https://desuarchive.org/co/thread/156100663/

To be fair
A. Time trvaeling is dangerous and abnoxiously complicated
B. If hitler didn't get accepted someone else would become as bad, or worse than him due to the growing instability of post ww2 germany. Didn't help how they got kicked in the ass
