Any animated movie that defies it gets cursed, either with poor box office (Wildwood, 9, Cool World), controversy (Sausage Party, Isle of Dogs, Fixed), or just simply not getting made (The Goon, Bubbles, Black Knight).Yes, there are exceptions (Beavis & Butthead Movie, South Park Movie, Simpsons Movie), but those already had a pre-built fanbase, and even then the Bob’s Burgers Movie was a failure.
I dont think a lack of PG rating is why they didn't make "The GOON"..
>>156055969what is the goon?
>>156055969>>156056098I fucking hate newfags
Opinion on Wildwoodhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LDfVcXYAT8U>>156055363Bob's Burgers had a movie? *searchs for it*
Fritz the Cat, Fire and Ice, Watership Down etc came out before the rating system
>>156056221>Indy capeshitIt deserves to rot.
>>156056812It was basically just a longer length TV episode. The idea of making a TV IP movie feel "special" is dead
>>156057041Also Watership Down was not american to begin with.
>>156055363>ANY ANIMATED FILM THAT DOES SOMETHING????? GOES BROKE!!!>EXCEPT THESE FILMS!?!?!? BECAUSE EVEN THOUGH WOKE, POPULAR?>BUT EVEN THEN, NOT POPULAR?ffs op figure it out
>>156055363>poor box office >Wildwood
Sausage Party wasn't any more controversial than most R-rated animations. It just wasn't very good.
>>156056098He is referring to this.
