And that concludes Emily and the Strangers Volume 3 by Rob Reger, Mariah Huehner, and Cat Farris
Thanks for the bump
>>
So is that animated movie still happening?
>>
Why sudden shift in art style?
>>
Still reading the previous thread but I'll post some thoughts here to bump it.
>>156005026
Woof this artwork is a huge downgrade. Gotta say I'm really not enjoying this story so far, all the new characters are flat as cardboard and it lacks the ooky-kooky spooky stuff from previous issues among other things. Just really boring stuff
>>
>>156018597
Yeah, the Strangers stuff feels like a downgrade
Kind of like a more, "cleaner" take on Emily to make her more palpable for fans alienated by the more explicitly creepy stuff
That said, I'm kind of curious if the novels are more in line with the pre-Strangers comics or the latter given Raven debuted in them but the novels have the traditional Emily the Strange artstyle

It's not official by the way
It's more in line with passing Calvin
That organization literally used Emily as their mascot for some reason
>>
>>156020051
People like that always steal or destroy shit. They’re never original.
>>
>>156020051
*pissing Calvin

>>156020112
Eh, it happens all the time
Saying she was their "mascot" is admittedly stretching it but its more like Pepe the Frog both in the States and in Hong Kong albeit to a lesser degree
Hamtaro was used for Thai protests as well

Thanks for storytiming this OP, I ended up skipping The Strangers because it was really dull and not what I was interested in from Emily. It's nice learning about these gothic 'mascots'
A bit off topic, but do you plan on storytiming Suee and the Shadow? I remember it being storytimed here years ago, but I can't seem to find the original thread in the archives weirdly enough.
>>
Friendly reminder that almost all the other Emily the Strange books are available on the Internet Archive
You just need an account
https://archive.org/search?query=emily+the+strange&tab=all
The first book apparently got a new 25th anniversary addition with new pages

>>156020219
>but do you plan on storytiming Suee and the Shadow
I'll consider it
There's only one week left until Halloween and I already had something (and maybe another if there was time) planned in case I had enough threads available to do it but yeah I can storytime it (and the sequel book) if possible
I think I might actually prioritize Suee and the Shadow and its sequel because I think visually alone it'd have broader appeal for the Anons here but I don't want to make promises
>>
>>
Huh, didn't know she had a DS game

>>156022959
That's a pretty good model
>>
>>156023421
Yeah no kidding, the game is really good looking overall. Not something you see very often with licensed games, especially on the DS
>>
does Santa Cruz still make Emily boards?

Looks like something an indie game would do (complimentary)
>>
>>156023474
Looking at their website, I don't think so
>>
This is way better than ICS. Nia is too cutesy looking.
>>
>>155985850
Not gonna lie, that's kind of a good look for her
She looks less saccharine and more Gothic lolita

Huh, didn't know he did fan art of her
Not that surprised though
>>
Just found out there was actually a new Emily the Strange comic that's more in line with the original issues published in 2024 but it's only available on the official website store
>>
I feel like she should've been a guest character in Pro Skater or a similar game
>>
>>156027249
I don’t think Santa Cruz has ever appeared in a Tony Hawk game. I could be wrong though.

I think we need more Emily on this board. I’m getting bored of ICS.

I really miss the Emily the Strange website, which had a chat and goth girls in it. Girls of all ages, and of all levels of horny except 0.
