After reading Last Stand of the Wreckers, we continue with more of Mike Costa's The Transformers.Transform and roll out.Previous storytimes:https://desuarchive.org/co/thread/155715906/>>155908039>>155934330>>155998589
With this issue we switch to E.J. Su as artist, sparing us from Don Figueroa's terrible new designs.
>>156013878I liked Figueroa's work. And I remember him being an okay guy in general.
Speaking of terrible new designs, this is Spike.
>>156014627Wait, fuck, forgot page 20.
Now everything should be in order.
>>156013925poor Dreadwind, if it wasn't for this, he would've ended up one of the Scavengers>>156013948He's generally very well-liked, but people just didn't care for the freakish look he gave the bots on this run
That's it for today, next up Ironhide.
Thanks for the storytime OP
>>156016277you're a good one OP, keep it up
>>156016383>>156016907You're welcome, but I would really appreciate people bumping these threads while I'm posting so they don't die before I'm done.
>>156013863Thanks for posting all these storytimes, even when the comics weren't that good. Which makes the great ones stand out more. You're a real trooper.
>>156014337he looks like he runs a kiddy fight club dojo
>>156016277Welp, he dead. Also, leave it to mankind to fuck things up.
>>156017138I'll try
>>156014702Destroying Scrapper's head isn't exactly a permanent death for a Cybertronian, but the comic treats it so for this particular death.
>>156018909>Destroying Scrapper's head isn't exactly a permanent death for a Cybertronian,it is a lot of the time
>>156013878bump
>>156014893lmao what the fuck
>>156013983>AAARGHH me when I'm on the toilet after eating a quarter-pound cheeseburger
>>156024036Man was everywhere
>>156015231>he's wearing a life jacket>floating face down
>>156014702Oh no, this tiny human dropped some stuff on me. I am defeated! Woe is me!
>>156016277classic AIIEEEE
Thread's still up, posting the Ironhide mini.
>>156029003in fairness whatever it is moves from his arm to his face like it's alive
The reason this story is going so slow is because I'm storytiming another comic right now (bad timing I know) so bear with me until that one finishes
>>156030056no sweat, it's appreciated
>>156030345Everyones gay for Optimus.
In retrospect, Dreamwave was so much better than this.
>>156013983I wish they used generics for these sorts of scenes where a character's just there to die. It feels like a bit of a waste like this
>>156031100why?
Okay, no more bullshit. Back to normal posting speed.
That's it for today. Next up, more of The Transformers.
>>156032141thanks for posting, anon
>>156032035He's got a mean right hook
>>156032092>things can get weirdhe's totally fucked that drone
>>156032141Thank you for posting this weird, dumb story that made no sense. Looking forward to next time, as always.
>>156014893Alright we have officially jumped the shark
>>156031122>I wish they used generics for these sorts of scenes where a character's just there to die. It feels like a bit of a waste like thisBack in the Marvel days, that's what Furman used OCs for, though he and Budiansky did both have massacre issues where a lot of established characters died to cut down the cast size. But with no need to keep characters around to promote a toy, from early on in IDW, we had lower-tier characters getting killed off all the time, much more with Decepticons, though no post-1985 character who wasn't in the movie was really safe.
>>156031232Apparently this guy is meant to be Scamper, the minibot whose toy was packed with Metroplex, though he's not really on-model here. His few other appearances in Transformers fiction portrayed him as a character in his own right, but here he's just a drone, and never appears again after this mini.
Marvel > Dreamwave > IDW
>>156016277KWABCliffjumper wouldve tanked that
>>156036682I think most of those got a decent amount of screentime before they were bumped off, though
