>buy a bunch of these fuckers>wait 3 years>ok maybe they're ripe now>cut into it>it's straight tire rubber>can't make guacamole with it but also you can't really preserve and continue to ripen it so now you're eating a bowl full of cubed jail mattress >borderline inedible>cut your losses, throw that one away>wait 20 minutes>try again with another >oops now they're all rotten :)>look one of em is even sprouting :)))fuck avocados. all my homies hate avocados
you can buy frozen but the ones I've tried tend to taste pretty mediocre vs fresh
Sounds like a skill issue to me.
>>22268192I have had OPs problem but it's very rare. You just have to pay attention to the state of your 'cados daily. If you don't check on them you end up like OP. Definitely a skill issue.
my process is keeping a bag of them in room temp and testing them daily to for firmnessand when they start to seem close to edible I put them in the fridge to delay them rotting, maybe I cube and freeze them to use on shakes later

>can't judge ripeness by feelYou can judge freshness of like a dozen common fruits/veggies with your eyes closed if you know what you're doing, get better.
>>22268162Frozen avocado can be decent depending on use, like if it's for guac or in a smoothie.Problem is they seem to package it based on how it looks, not on actual ripeness, so they err on the side of some pieces being underripe and unpleasant that way
