Arguing about peasant slop never stops being tedious. What next, debating carbonara?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Altoona-style_pizza>Altoona-style pizza is a distinct type of pizza created in the city of Altoona, Pennsylvania, United States, by the Altoona Hotel. The definitive characteristics of Altoona-style pizza are a Sicilian-style pizza dough, tomato sauce, sliced green bell pepper, salami, a topping of American cheese and pizzas cut into squares instead of wedges.
>>22267965
for me it's Chicago style
>>22267940I'm no 'za expert but aren't New York pizzas usually thinner than that?
>>22267965>>22267966As if you need any more evidence that flyovers are double digit IQ simpletons
>>22267963>What next, debating carbonara?I mean, it might be a rich topic
>>22267972I don't think Altoona really counts as "flyover," it's too close to the coast and major cities. I'm from SoCal with family that came from the Northeast and I generally think of flyover country as mostly the midwest and great plains. I've always thought there should be another term like "drivepast country" for places that are along the highway between major cities but not visited or thought about much by people who live in those cities, like all the stuff along I-5 in CA's Central Valley and so on.
>>22267940>ItalianHoly fucking shit I hate americans so goddamn much. The pizza in the picture is Neapolitan style, we have man other styles just like in the US, so New York style isn't "American pizza", it's just a variety...
>>22268006Are you even trying to dog on the Olive Pit, my man? You need to think about what you're saying.
>>22267940meh lotza ny places do neapolitanny has pizza, then it has street pie. thats street pie. still ny, but its street pie.
>>22267940Right. Give me toppings and not just dough with underseasoned tomato sauce.
>>22268025If you see a pizza like the right one in Italy, it's reverse-copied from American (New York) style. Pizza looked like the left until the United States came to town.
>>22268071Wrong, the left is specifically Neapolitan style. It's not the only style in Italy. Roman pizza looks more like New York style.
>>22268027Ironically that's a place I've only ever driven past, and only a couple of times, when I lived in CA I usually flew if I was going further north than the bay or Sac. There are plenty of good things in flyover/drivepast country anyway though. I live in a middle of nowhere 100k person flyover town 3 hours from the nearest interstate and fucking love it here.
>>22268025>The pizza in the picture is Neapolitan style, we have man other styles just like in the USAll of your other styles are based on American pizza.
>>22267940I still have not recovered from this "debate". The "GREAT DEBATE" among countless others. Like "the trial of the century" that they had 7 or 8 of. You will all eat any fucking pizza in front of you.
A good neapolitan italian style pizza mogs NY style pizza, but 95% of italian style pizza joints make absolute shit pizza.A good good NY style pizza joint mogs 95% of italian style pizza joints but nowadays a good NY style slice is difficult to find, a lot of places make shitty botched versions of it and sell them at retarded prices.A roman style pizza will have similar characteristics to NY style but with different ingredients, usually better dough and cheese, though the recipes and toppings will vary a lot so the comparison has limits. All are good but will satisfy different types of cravings.Only abominations are detroit/chicago style pizzas, i might have missed out on good joints but every single one i had was disappointing.
>>22267949It looks better, but taste wise it's inferior.
>>22267940New York is my least favorite american pizza style. You're giving me a choice of the original vs the least good spin off. It's not a far comparison. That said i still like new york better than authentic italian.
>>22267940>tore /ck/ apartand there was confetti inside, but no candy.
>>22267969don't post things from that awful fucking city ever again.fuck the entire midwest except for the cornfields.
>>22268134>a GOOD pizza will be gooder than a NOT GOOD pizzawhat a meaningless post
>>22267949This.Not even a homofaggot btw
>>22268167Gooder? You fucking retard.
>>22268317yes you are quite a retard aren't you
>>22267940The reddit pizza is extremely overrated
>>22267949They forgot the cheese, it's like a wild animal barged into the store and just kicked ingredients around. Shitalians are off their rockers.
>>22267940>>22267949There is no debate. The bullshit on the left is poverty pizza. Look up it's history. Some can't move on from mindless tradition. It's not considered real pizza because people back then were too poor to use meat and pizza has evolved so much since then. It just looks pathetic now, Barely any toppings and burnt crust. It's basically cheese bread that hipsters and poors pretend to like.
>>22268481>burnt crustWay to out yourself as someone who has never had anything but Pizza Hut and Little Caesars.
The thumbnail sucks and isn't a good representation of either style. Both kinds are the perfect ideal pizzas when done properly.
No, throwing a few far between bits of cheese on tomato bread is not an actual pizza. Put cheese on the whole thing you cheap fucks.
>>22268492>>22268481>>22268367ugh when will these people die or stop posting?
>>22268503I imagine they are wracked with various metabolic disorders, so probably soon.
>>22268503Don't worry, I'm casting blocking spells on them right now. It's Halloween and I have The Craft playing in the background, candles lit, Jack o Lanterns a blazing, a Ouija board session going on, frankincense in the censor, clocks set to ring at 3 AM, black kitty cats running around my feet, and elixirs in my cup and lungs that weaken the veil between the spirit realm and our reality.
>>22268513>>22268528oh thank god
The only pizza in the image is on the left, that other sloppy is soggy cardboard without ingredients
