Who else here /eatinggood/ tonight? I'm putting some work in here
Flame time
Service for one! I can't find a ladle so had to do the old over the sink pour with mild trepidation.
Delicious, as always, thank you Campbell's soup employees.
>>22265625Does your stove not have a striker?
>>22265637The electrical isn't hooked up for it yet, still have a few things left on the punch list. I'm so happy not to be an /electric/ fag, regardless.
I heard that campbell's uses fake meat in their soup
>>22265622Are you squatting in a home under construction?

>>22265654I rent from the bank and town, actually. >>22265661Correct
Looks like dog shit
>>22265628That sink looks like a huge bacteria trap. Big time.
>>22265684It's copper, genius, naturally anti microbial. That's why it's put in anti fouling boat paint, IUDs and romex, shit doesn't live in contact with it.
>>22265689>IUDsAre you fucking your kitchen sink anon?
>>22265696IDK which one I like better yet, but we'll see if they behave themselves tonight. Back in the kitchen for some dumps.
>>22265689Oh cool so you get big deposits of dead bacteria and grime. Enjoy.
>>22265719That's nearly a restaurant quality range. Nice score.
>>22265719LFGyo!
>>22265729So you never clean your sink(s)?>>22265745Yeah 375 bucks on clist a while back. Some of the ignitors are cracked but no big deal. You can do amazing shit will a reno budget when you buy used and you don't have a woman in your life. >but the people on Instagram said GE cafe rose gold everything, waterfall Island and full back splash and gray lvp!I'm putting a Viking wall oven in also that I bought for 350. People just give this shit away. This dishwasher was around 400 I think. The guy who removed it cut the drain hose, so I had to mend that but it works great.
>>22265754We're doing it, we're making things happen, but I think that's it for tonight. I'll likely plumb the sink next to the rangetop tomorrow, maybe start on the drawer pulls and keep shit posting.
>>22265757How do you have that premium equipment but you're eating canned soup? Did you buy a shit hole that you're DIYing?
>>22265757That's pretty fucken neato anon. Good on you.
>>22265768I posted a ramen thread the other day when I got the stove plumbed. It's just what I've got at the moment and still have a bunch of work left to do before I start posting beef wellington or some kind of endangered animal stir fry. >>22265770Thanks Anon. This took a while but I did two flitch beams solo prior to gutting the place. It looked like this a 6 weeks ago. The cabinet doors on the floor cover the beam which is where the wall used to be.
>>22265628how the fuck did you get this much out of one can
>>22265784I did the magic trick of using two cans.
>>22265628is that a lot of soup for just one can or are your pans impossibly small
>>22265622why is there a loose wire near that outlet?
>>22265787you turned simply campbells complicated
>>22265823It's two cans of soup. >>22265833Under cabinet lighting, on the punch list still. The all clad sale is going on right now, is D3 worth it or should I just be a man and start using carbon steel? Or both?
>>22265757Nice. I'm doing viking on my renovation too. Good for you anon
>>22265868I went for a carbon steel lodge. First cook of some breakfast sausage at 6 pm.
>>22265782Look at that floor. This is an old house for sure. Renovation is the right path OP, good on you.
>>22265782Is that a Howard Vacuume?
>>22265628One can had this much?Nice kitchen

>>22267176It's a harbor freight with a hepa filter, which cost almost as much as the unit. >>22267153Yeah the new hickory ones look and feel so much better.>>22267186I'm using 3 cans next timeI may actually cook something for real tonight, get excited. Mischief night features of Halloween 3: Season Of The Witch, Nightmare On Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors and possibly The Human Centipede.I'm thinking some kind of Spanish theme, mostly because I want to drink some Spanish reds and enjoy the fact that I have an operable sink again.

>>22265839I work food service, I'm a big believer in stainless steel because I've seen how it can hold up. I don't know how much benefit there is to all clad's stainless-aluminum-stainless layering, but my D3 set has lasted years through and will still shine brand new.I think they would compliment your kitchen well.
>>22265628fancy kitchen you're building, but that sink looks like a maintenance nightmare
>>22267875I think I'll get a 12 inch and see how it holds up. Just got another lodge carbon steel so I'm going to test that out tonight and do some kind of shrimp/chick pea thing. >>22267932IDK how different it's going to be from any other sink. Bar keepers friend, water and a scrub brush takes a whole 20 seconds. I had a stainless sink but wanted something that looked less austere and didn't want porcelain because they always chip, time will tell. The biggest thing is that it's level and drains quickly so I'm not too worried. >>22267861Sounds tasty.
>>22267996>Sounds tasty. It was a little too salty and the rice was too sticky. I'll try to do better next time.
>>22267996copper is softer than stainless so that hammered texture is probably done to hide scratches/dentsits also a lot more susceptible to acids, so tomato sauce will eat away at the patina if left long enoughI remodeled my entire kitchen years ago and whats showed the most wear for me was the sink and dishwasher.kinda surprised it looks like you put the cabinets in before finishing the floor....I would've finished the floor first, but its looking good anon
>>22265745The house I grew up in had a beast of a Viking with a grill and griddle, my dad is /ck/ as fuck and had to have special oversized gas lines installed to run it. I miss that thing, I've got gas in my place but it's a regular slide-in and weak as fuck, and even worse it has to be downdraft because it's in the island so I can't have a hood. Annoyingly I've got a billion pics of food on the counter and dining table in that house but none directly of the stove so I'll have to use this one from when I refinished their island top.
>>22268012I kind of want my place to look used and worn. If the sink gets damaged I can always braze it to fix it. I really don't care if stuff looks like it's been here a while, less stress. I told any of the contractors not to bother worrying about the floors for the same reason. The house is so old that the side of the room where I did the cabinets prior is almost an inch higher than the other side and the moulding wouldn't have fit with standard upper to lower spacing, plus it's like a ski slope. It was intentional. The other side the cabinets are sitting on the floor. >>22268022Nice set up. I didn't go with a wolf or Viking hood bc the corners are extremely defined plus the exhaust typically vents on top and I'm 6'4 and prefer not to slam my head into sharp things. I found some other brand with a vent that goes up or out, and the range is next to an exterior wall so the vent should work great. It's on the list but I'm still waiting for my sparky to return. Cabinet pulls and the bar sink next to the range will hopefully be done this weekend plus the two faucets on the copper main sink. I figure by Christmas this should be wrapped up, God willing.
>>22268050>the side of the room where I did the cabinets prior is almost an inch higher than the other sidethis is pretty common for old houses. mines from the 70s and rooms aren't square or level and it has weird 70s architecture designs that make no senseI'm jealous of that dishwasher. I have a bosch that just recently died on me. I was able to revive it with a new controller board from ebay but it was a different revision, so half of the features/buttons don't work anymore. I hope you have better luck
>>22268050Ah yeah, the outward draft hood could definitely make sense. My family's house made it easier because the kitchen was on the top floor. (It was a hillside house that went down from street level instead of up like a normal flatland one.) Ironically the new house is just upside down for no reason except views ("reverse layout") which is a pain after shopping trips and makes putting in a hood nearly impossible because it'd have to hang from the vaulted ceiling.I miss the fuck out of that stove, we've got a Jen-Air that's about as good as you can get in a standard-size downdraft but it still sucks and a full kitchen remodel to fit a separate range and oven or add a hanging hood isn't in the budget. I'd be tempted to go induction too just because the gas supply sucks here but downdraft ones of those are almost nonexistent, especially in a 30" slide in. (There are more options for 36" or wider standalone ranges but that'd be a whole new island.)
>>22268062Just look on FB marketplace or clist for this stuff. People just give this stuff away, it's amazing. My wine fridge was $45 dollars. My DW was like $350 or $400 and it's $1900 new. I've heard Bosch is good tho, I had an f+p single drawer when I moved in here and was super impressed by it so stuck with it. >>22268082Looks comfy, Anon. I'm in NJ and the gas supply here is ridiculous, as is the water pressure. I wonder if there's a stand alone down draft blower you could put into the island back splash with a bump out for the unit and vent piping on the bar side..? Build.com or supply house probably has something.
>>22268082Also, are those floors real wood and original?
>>22268150That's an interesting thought. It may just be the stove too, I think it's 15ish years old and may be gunked up inside. >>22268158The ones in the old house were original 1930s, refinished when my parents remodeled in the mid-'90s. The new house definitely aren't, it's only a 1990 build and the floors were replaced about a decade ago afaik, they're real wood but not very nice real wood and I think what you actually see is basically a veneer over some cheaper base wood.
