what happens if you don't rinse your rice
It will be extremely starchy
>>22265204???
mustard
>>22265204it's a long grain
>>22265208For you
I'll tell you what happened when I put vanilla custard on my apfelstrudel. That's right, I crammed it right up there. Made a vanille/chocolate hybrid custard apfelstrudel.
>>22265200Then you don't get to graduate to learning how to make the tamago
>>22265200@grok change the text on the sign to "do not rinse rice"
most of the white powder on the outside of rice is the vitamin enrichment. if you rinse the rice you're literally washing all the vitamins away
>>22265200You get arsenic in your body. Most rice has a lot of arsenic in it and a good rinse removes some of it.
>>22265308F A L S EYou're thinking of brown rice, and like everything brown like brown people, things get better once the brown is removed (aka the external layers of the rice grain) and the arsenic is gone when the rice become white.
>>22265308>You get arsenic in your body. That's only in brown rice. Arsenic is stored in the hull.
>>22265309It's all rice, bud. I've done a lot of reading about this because I eat a lot of rice. Brown rice has more arsenic than white but white rice still contains it as well.
>>22265309>>22265311There's a long article on Consumer Report from July 2026 about the testing they did on rice and their findings. What you're saying about arsenic only being in brown rice is flat out wrong. I recommend reading the article. It's in depth and very informative. >“As we did more than a decade ago, we found measurable levels of inorganic arsenic in all of the samples of the products,” says James E. Rogers, PhD, director of food safety at Consumer Reports. “In 42 percent of the products, the average inorganic arsenic levels were high enough that an adult eating just one serving a day over time would have a significantly increased risk for skin cancer, bladder cancer, and type 2 diabetes.” >But we also found that the levels varied among types and brands of rice, meaning there are better choices for consumers.>And no matter which rice you use, there are steps you can take to minimize the risk from arsenic. For example, we also tested three cooking methods thought to reduce the arsenic content of rice, and found that one of them can eliminate up to 58 percent of the inorganic arsenic. Plus, our tests found good news about grains like farro, quinoa, and sorghum.>How We Tested>For our latest tests, we analyzed total and inorganic arsenic levels in two to three samples each of 52 different rice products: arborio, basmati, brown, jasmine, sushi, white, and precooked microwavable types, as well as rice side dishes with seasoning. We also tested for cadmium, lead, and mercury. effects during critical phases of their development. (For more details on how we tested and our risk assessment, see our methodology sheet. [PDF])>Our Findings>We found detectable levels of arsenic, cadmium, and mercury in all 142 samples we tested, and lead in 66 of them.

>>22265322I don't know how to link an article. If you search "Consumer Report rice arsenic" it should be the first result.
>>22265308Jesus, fuck off arsenic guy. You really have to crawl out into every rice thread to post this, just so people can btfo your inane comments every time? More than half the world's population eats rice daily. Where are the mass graves? Go away.
>>22265330i only eat calrose so im safe
>>22265340What? This is literally the first time I've posted about arsenic in rice. And it's not like you fall over dead like in a cartoon with your tongue hanging out and xs on your eyes from arsenic exposure in rice. You get cancer, diabetes, and other illnesses. >>22265345The Consumer Report tests from this year found California grown sushi rice had the lowest levels of US grown rice. The other lowest arsenic white rice is basmati grown in India and jasmine grown in Thailand. I don't think they tested Japanese grown rice for some reason.
>>22265200It's sticky and gummy in a way you don't want. That's all. Makes my rice cooker slightly more work to clean as it leaves some extra residue.
>>22265361Link it.>but how??Copy paste you retard.
>>22265330>I don't know how to link an article
>>22265361>basmatiYeah, you don't get arsenic but you get 70 different illegal cancer inducing illegal pesticides and fecal matter
>>22265200Depends on the type of rice, some rice will get clumpy some not so much.
>>22265200Arsenic.
>>22265361>I don't think they tested Japanese grown rice for some reason.Radiation affected the tests.

>>22265320>measurable levelsAh, so because of our modern analytic irrelevant trace amounts.More and more stuff over time has been found in food because in trace amount basically everything can be found in food.
>>22265200Ahiyaaah
>>22265200It produces nerve gas once you put it in the rice cooker.
>>22265320So do populations that eat a lot of rice get more skin/bladder cancer or type 2 diabetes than populations that don't?
Don't do this, it makes mustard gas
>>22265204For you
>>22265204>>22265208>>22265212>>22267640if i rinse away that starch will you die?
>>22265200Nothing... I never wash it and don t taste or see any differences. I have a retardingly expensive japanese rice cooker and a muji budget one, used a komebitsu and now store rice in the fridge. You know what ? Only the kind of rice change taste, and for the same variety, not that much.
>>22265304enriched rice tastes terrible because of the added vitamins and minerals
>>22265304that's circumstantial. I buy calrose rice which isn't enriched at all. the powder on calrose rice is just powdered rice particles.
>>22267672brown rice is also pretty much never enriched
>>22265340>More than half the world's population eats rice daily. They wash their rice though.
I think washing rice is some third world aka american advice. I've tried rinsing rice and it just makes worse rice and you have grains of wet rice sticking to everything, and you have to rinse it several times. Every time I've tried it the rice came out worse.Must be advice to just wash off the indian poop off the rice. Normal first world rice doesn't need to be washed.
>>22267683japanese people rinse their rice. it's a common practice. sounds like you struggle to do it for some reason so you think it's bad lol.
>>22267683another obsessed retarded nonamericanneed your irrelevant yuro shithole range banned
>>22267683whether you rinse your rice or not depends what you want out of your rice. if you want it sticky then don't rinse it. if you want separate grains that don't stick to each other at all then rinse it heavily. unrinsed rice is also more likely to boil over in a pan or rice cooker.that's not even touching the subject of rinsing's effect on heavy metals
>>22267705>that's not even touching the subject of rinsing's effect on heavy metalsTouch me on it Daddy. I'd like to know.
Don't you know? If you don't rinse the rice, then the fluffy texture will be destroyed! Entire societies will crumble! Rivers will run red with blood! And Nazis will once again roam the Earth riding zombie dinosaurs!
>>22267762Nta. You're not going to wash away heavy metals that accumulated in the entire plant over the course of months. That's like thinking you'll wash away pesticides from apples and potatoes. At least those are water soluble nowadays - but because those plants are religiously being sprayed every 2 weeks the poison is on the blossom or root from the very start until the very end (when you eat it). From the core to the peel. Many bio-label pesticides (allowed in both the US and EU) are actually terrible for our health: copper sulfate, pyrethrins, spinosad, lime sulfur. Just ask any AI what those are, why they're bad for you and on which crops they're used. It's a fucking disgrace. There's even one (rotenone) which causes Parkinson's. Luckily it's banned now - but it really used to be "bio certified".
>>22267795Rinsing rice has verifiable and reproducible results on the reduction of heavy metals, especially with white rice. Fabricating your own reality and then attempting to live within it doesn't actually affect the real world.
>>22267647It would be extremely tasty
