Yo my southerners (US), what yall cookin today? I'm thinkin Wednesday to make Chicken and Dumplings.
>posting slop
As a foreigner living in the US, I'd just like to say that you're a bunch of cunts for not introducing the rest of the world to your admittedly simple but utterly delicious cuisine.I cook mostly southern staples for Thanksgiving every year, btw.
>>22263734>posting slop??? Explain. Have you ever had southern cooking?>>22263737You're welcome anon. What country?
>>22263740> ???
>>22263740>>22263740I'm from Italy. My wife is from Trinidad. And >22263734 means AI pictures. AI=slop. Food is called sloppa, as in "a sloppa shit".I would move back home and open a southern restaurant myself but property prices in urban Italy are insane compared to where I live in the US.
>>22263754I grabbed an image on google, looks fine to me. How would you know if it's Ai garbage? This looks more like an ok commercial. >>22263755Reminds me of people saying things in Japan are expensive. 1200 yen for a bowl of ramen, which is like $9 USD and but to Japan that's expensive but then again they also pay like at $7/h and are fine with it cause their economy I THINK isn't trash? I could be wrong.
The garbage cooking done in the South is a big part of why everyone down here is obese and retarded
>>22263732
>>22263795That wouldn't make any sense to say that anon, if our food is trash, why would people eat it? Which proves you've never had our food once and have no idea. Like the Midwest or yankee food is any better. Fucking casseroles, random ingredient ass shit and not to mention putting everything in a gelatin. My step dad is from Minnesota, the man's food is bland, boring, tasteless, and boiled. I understand boiling chicken with heavy seasoning, that's fine, but every time he cooks, it's the most tasteless shit I've ever seen and tasted. At most he had "Pete's hot sauce"Everyone I know who has had true southern cooking knows we cook good down here. You can eat without getting fat, you can make good food, we season the shit out of our food here. If someone overeats, that's not the south's fault, that's thats person's fault for not having self control. When your tummy says, "human I am full!" you stop eating and don't be a gluttonous fatass who can't control his intake. It's like an alcoholic blaming alcohol for making him an alcoholic. Replace any anything with that and it's the same thing. Food tastes good, eat it, when full stop. Want me to write it in python for you?>>22263796already covered, I googled "southern food. Get over yourself. I picked an image at random
>>22263871>if our food is trash, why would people eat it?because they are retarded anon. I had to spend a lot of time around fat retards growing up in the south, which is how I learned well to stay away from them and not eat garbage like they do.
>>22263871you picked a shitty image because you are a very stupid person. cope.
How about you post something you actually made
>>22263732I will be making some collard greens again soon along with cornbread and probably some ribs.
>>22263796what a fascinating lack of self-awareness you have
>>22263732Made some cornbread to go with beef stew a couple nights ago, I did the cornbread in buttermilk thing with the leftovers today. That's pretty southern I'd say.
>>22263732well I'm not eating AI slop.
>>22263770>How would you know if it's Ai garbage?you can tell by the way that it is.
>>22263770I meant starting a business. In the US, I can find a place in some parts of NY for $27/sqft. Converting meters to feet and euro to dollars, a space in my hometown would cost $47/sqft.Take away is generally lower price and I would guess it's because our cities are extremely dense so food businesses are practically never slow.Basically, running a takeaway in Italy is like printing money but the cost of entry is extremely steep while entry is much less expensive in the US but you've got much higher failure rates here.
>>22263770>how would you know if it's ai garbage?you gotta be kidding me
Fuck it, I don't care. You guys care too much about insulting food, giving a shit about the OP image. Enjoy the thread I made. I'm not sticking around for this. Not butt hurt, just not in the mood.
>>22263732Literally the only thing worth eating in the US, and it's great.
I'm a Yankee born and still living in New England. Am I allowed to post ITT?
>>22264058As long as it's not fast food, post it.
>>22263770The "tablecloth" stop at weird places, top of two of the biscuits look almost identical, and the far end of the table isn't straight.Chicken and dumplings sounds delicious BTW.
>>22263732Fucking AI slop.
>>22263770>the cast iron pan with a spout where the handle should be and a misshapen vestigial handle on the left side>the oddly cylindrical corn>the points nearly symmetrically sticking up around the bowl of collards>the over-textured quality of all the food>the unnatural lighting>the random lump of shredded meat in front of the sliced meatnigga are you fucking blind?>not butthurtlmao even
>>22263770>How would you know if it's Ai garbage?i'm not brown and my IQ is above room temperature
Currently letting some chicken livers thaw out in the fridge, gunna pan fry them in bacon fat tomorrow with a couple of eggs if my lazy freeloader chickens lay any.
>>22263732>another fucking AI slop thread with a nonsense question
>>22263770>How would you know if it's Ai garbage?AI puts weird textures on things for some reason. You can see the fried chicken and cornbread at least has a texture that looks not quite right. The lighting and positioning of things to make it all perfectly visible to the viewer also doesn't feel normal.Beans and cornbread is probably one of my favorite meals. And a lot of hot sauce or salsa. Biscuits and gravy is also good. Not a huge fan of meat so I usually make those things without it but they still taste good.
>>22264403this ones real
>>22263734Forgive them. The south has no culture after getting its ass kicked in the civil war
Tomorrow morning I'm cooking pancakes, breakfast sausage, shrimp and grits, corned beef hash, and hash browns.
TomorrowLunch: Fried Eggs & Collard Greens over PolentaDinner: Linguine with canned clamsI wish I could make something different and more southern, but that’s all I got ingredient wise.
>>22267146I might substitute polenta for jalapeño cheddar grits to make it more southern. Any ideas on how I could southernize the linguine with clams?
>>22267149Substitute grits for polenta*
>>22263895I would eat y’all of that
>>22264050Did you make chicken and dumplings?
>>22267149>Any ideas on how I could southernize the linguine with clams?you could make it cajun i guess. just toss the noods in cajun butter.
