How can i get into baking? I have an oven and a stove and i want to build my skills up towards being able to make good pizzas.
>>22263456Read this, buy a thermometer, follow instructions. If you struggle with fermentation your kitchen is too cold. Unless your oven gets crazy hot you will do better with a steel plate than a pizza stone.

>>22264672This is all you need to do to get started. One point of advice. All ovens cook a little different. Dont assume cook times will be exactly the same. Tooth picks for sweets and a thermometer for breads.
Look at this picture. Buy a digital scale. You're now lightyears ahead of your former self.

>>22264667Personally I think solar cakes like banana bread or lemon loaf are more forgiving and tastier than regular cake. For cookies sugar cookie is a good place to start (or the simpler shortbread if you’re fine with crunchy crumbly).Biggest things for me as a beginner was understanding what fully creamed butter and whipped eggs are supposed to look like, and not overbaking by expecting the cake or cookie to be completely dry before taking it out of the oven
