Beans don't belong in chili.Fight me.
>>22262742>Beans don't belong in chili. This is a preference, why would someone fight you over it?
ill fight you bitch.take your dumbass ragu pasta sauce ass head and get on.beans make the chili.
>>22262742it's not that they don't belong in chili.it's that once you add beans it's no longer chili.
>>22262759it’s not that it’s no longer chili, it’s that until you add the beans it’s just hot dog sauce
>>22262742my ass hole belongs in chili
>>22262779no it doesnt
>>22262784now hold on just a minute I think there’s a compromise somewhere in here. I’d be okay with a chili dog if the frankfurter is made out of his asshole.
Food evolves.
>>22262742>Fight me.Nope.You do you.I do me (with beans).
This is what chili is supposed to look like
>>22262838What did it look like before you took a shit in the bowl?
>>22262838no it’s not supposed to look like BBQ pulled pork
>>22262777and what do you call a hotdog topped with hotdog sauce?
>>22262742NahI’ll just tell you you’re wrong
>>22262852It's shredded beef
>>22262742Chili as a topping needs no beans. Chili meant to be the main aspect should have beans. Simple as.
>>22262871saucedog
>>22262779
>>22262838Generally I find that darker chilis like in your pic have a more enjoyable flavor
>>22262742Chili doesn't need meat
>>22262748If you don't get into fistfights over beans in chili or pineapple on pizza can you really say you enjoy food and cooking?
>>22262742you dont like beans?it can stretch the dish to give more volume for cheap
>>22263026inb4>I don’t do that because I’m not poor
>>22262748Because it's literally not chili without beans. It's just sloppy joes. This isn't an opinion based topic. There is right and wrong.
>>22262742Chili is an ancient Mesoamerican stew consisting of tomatoes, peppers and BEANS. Meat is in fact optional. No beans = not chili
>>22263037>>22263102Chili is a TexMex dish traditionally NOT containing beans. Beans are a later, though valid, addition.
I wanted to make 'chili con carne' (with beans) for family and friends, at some party.went shopping, bought all the stuff, >oh wow, minced meat is 60% off for some reason not expired or anything.so I bought a bunch. spend all day cooking, so its finished for the event tomorrow.made some awesome 'chili con carne'looks bomb, tastes great, I'm so happy, I eat a big bowl right away.......40 minutes later, without warning, I fell to my knees, and violently vomit on the spot.I can't stop, 30 minutes later I still lie on the floor, with tears in my eyes, gagging, and everything hurts at this point. I drink some water, and immediately start to vomit again. tossed the entire thing in the trash, and didn't eat anything for 4 days after.I was not ok for like 2 weeks.I never bought price reduced meat again.
>>22263125>TexMexsaar we wuz chili!
>>22262777>it’s not that it’s no longer chiliit is.it's 100% that.
>>22262742De gustibus non disputandum est.
>>22262742i add beans if i dont feel like adding rice or making a wrapif i'm lazy i just do minced meat, canned tomatoes, beans, corn and some good spicesi feel like thats a good, healthy meal.
>>22263135Good thing you tried it before the party lmao
Lel. Chili is the sauce and beans. Period. Without beans it's just a mole and tomatoes. Adding meat makes it chili con carne. Meat is the only optional addition. If it doesn't contain>chile peppers>tomatoes>beansIt isn't chili. That's it. There's no argument to be had.
>>22262742Anon this is America. You can put anything you want in your chili. It's your birthright.
>>22263482Sic, est.
>>22263125Completely wrong.
>>22262742Hard agree OP. This is ideal. but at the end of the day I don't really care as long as the bean to meat ratio is balanced. If its like 75% bean....fuck off.
>>22262742Originally chili was server on top of beans. Cooking them in is just a slight shortcut.
>>22263037This looks like sloppy joes to you?
>>22262742I put kidney beans and hominy in my chili. I also make my own chili powder which de facto makes me better than almost everyone else.
>>22262742your righti like putting peanut butter crackers in chili
>>22263037Many of the older chili recipes are made without beans, beans are a great addition, tho.
>>22262742Can I tip my hat instead?I don't hate beans but they're just cheap filler in chili.
>>22264059Eating food for how pricy if is, instead of taste and healthy.
>>22264048I want to try this.
>>22264154Worse than it looks.
>>22262910They aren’t ready for this yet
the real forbidden ingredient in chili is tomato. people who believe tomato belongs in chili can't even imagine what it's supposed to be in it without it.
>>22263921It looks like bullshit, because "texas red" is bullshit.
>>22262742I love chiliI love with or without beansI love with or without tomatoesI love chili with ground beef or with steakI love chili with fresh, dried whole, or powdered chilesI love it very spicy or mild or mediumI love it when it is fresh and the next dayI love it with cheese, sour cream, and raw onions and crackers and other toppingsI love it plainI love it from a bowl, in a cup, on a chip, on a hotdog, in a burger or burrito, mixed into mac and cheese or on nachos or a baked potato It’s good every way
>>22262742Beans don't really add any flavor and have an unpleasant mushy texture I find unappealing. I vote for the no beaners candidate at the next chili con.
>>22263037Chili (chili con carne) was originally just meat and chili peppers and fat, with some very simple seasonings like garlic and pepper. So if we go by that tomatoes don't belong in chili either.
>>22264797
>>22262871Sloppydog
>>22263125What is the mex part of texmex? Ahh bean cultures from bean-people?
+1 updoot for no beans = no chili
>>22264461Black beans and beef really complement each other IMO.
>>22264801if chili con carne is chili with meat, and beans are optional in chili con carne, what happens if you have chili with no beans, and no meat? is it just spiced onions?
>>22265865>what happens if you have chili with no beans, and no meat?it's just pepper sloppa
>>22262742i will not fight you.
>>22262910honestly I wanna give up meat. chili can be just fine without it. hopefully some day I will be a vegan
>>22262742Arguably, tomatoes don't either, if you're THAT anal about authenticity.Myself, I like beans and tomatoes in my chili, but beanless is good too.
>>22262910Vegetarian "chili" isn't chili. The meat's more important than the beans.
>>22266513wrong
>>22262742You belonged in the dumpster of an abortion clinic, yet here we are.
