The only safe thing to get at a greasy spoon is fried products (you still a dose of cancer) because the fried product comes in a basket with a fresh sheet of parchment and you can eat with your hands. Will still evacuate your bowels because the oil is 2 decades old and probably rancid. Not all mom and pop shops are greasy spoons. But all greasy spoons are mom/pop shops.
