Sooo, what are you looking for here? Advice on how to prevent this from happening?
>>22261516Gas is for real cooks. Sounds like you need a babby induction stove.
>>22261680oh damn I need to have a stove that works better, poor me....
>>22261691Here you go anon, this looks perfect for you. Now the big scary hot pot handles won't burn you
>>22261516I fucking hate my electric range. Those shitty glasstop elements never heat right or evenly. I like electric for everything else in my home but as soon as i get some extra money im changing my oven to a gas hookup. Not to mention i cant cook a fucking thing when the power goes out currently.
>>22261701>when the power goes out currentlyjust third world thingslol
>>22261516I love my induction stove, they're so easy to use and there's little risk of forgetting them on since they don't work if the stovetop is empty.
>>22261701Most gas ranges still need electricity
>>22261516I love gas
>>22261806You can light gas burner pilots with a match
>>22261680Coil whine is even worse.
>>22261516>cleaning the area under the grate is a pain in the ass and always looks absolutely filthynot my problem>dumps immense amounts of waste heat into your home and not enough into the pan or potturn on the A/C>ruins indoor air qualityturn on the overhead ventilation>turns pot handles so hot they sizzle wateruse an oven mitt>still takes longer to boil water than a basic electric cooktopuse the microwave
>>22261701Electric was fine until the modern versions with the button that shuts off the element if you lift/touch the pan.
>>22261896>turn on the overhead ventilationUnless you have a full on chemical lab fume hood, you and more importantly your kids are still inhaling incomplete burn products
>>22262002>think of the zoomer and alpha childrenNTA, but if you think anyone born after 1990, when electric was pandemic in homes and apartments, turned out better than those who came before, you may not be qualified to comment on this.
>>22262009>giving my toddler asthma because he's a gen alpha faggot and there are microplastics and seed oils and other stuff anyway so gas is manly and patriotic
>>22262013>thinks gas stoves didn't exist until y2k>not understanding basic chronology is manly and patriotic
>>22261713>Power stays on everywhere all the time>Places with inclement weather dont ever get outages >Using the term "third world" seriously after the Cold War endedFaggiest post ive seen in weeks on this website. Do me a favor and inject antifreeze into your taint. >>22261806I can operate a gas stove to cook while the power is off. I have matches and lighters in several places in my home. >>22261999Thankfully mine doesnt do that. Wow, that sounds like a pain in the ass
>>22262035>Thankfully mine doesnt do that...It's a recent thing. You see that raised button in the middle? It's up there with "energy saving" dishwashers (which don't fully wash your dishes), and washers (which constantly come unbalanced) and dryers (which don't fully dry your clothes).
>>22261806I have a single burner portable gas stove that ignites via similar mechanism as a barbecue/cigarette lighter. I wish my gas range had the that instead of an electric starter
For me the major two advantages of gas is being able to heat the pan at a distance and not giving a single shit about scratching the grate.I now have an induction glass top which is convenient to clean and all but i miss these days when i could just fuck around with everything without fucking my stove up
What percentage of professional kitchens use gas? Hmmm...
>>22262047Well thanks for informing, anon. That is really, really stupid. Is there any way to disable that? There are plenty of ways to save energy that don't involve making cooking more troublesome
>>22261999Oh also i forgot to say nice trips
i'd consider having a little gas burner outside for a wok, if i cooked anything with a wok regularlyotherwise nothing else really needs it
im a rentoid and have to deal with whatever my apartment has. ive learned to live with either
>>22261694why is unitedstatian masculinity so feminine, performative and consumerist?
>>22261516this is really lame shitposting.
Gas's only real advantage is the fine grained control over the heat, and newer induction stovetops are probably as good or better in that regard these days.
>>22261999>Electric was fine untilNo it wasn't. Gas was always considered better than electric and any equivocation on the question appeared only in the winter of 2023.
>>22262375>why is unitedstatian masculinity so feminine, performative and consumerist?Because it's unitedstatian
>>22262375I dunno, why are Europeans all cucked faggots?
>>22261713Thirdies cant comprehend that properly maintained, designed and funded infrastructure can actually function without major issues for years and decades. Its sad.
>>22262981Until hurricane/earthquake/y'allqaeda/tornado/snow storm strikes. Then you'll curse your electric cooker.
>>22263123Horrible weather is no issue because lines are burried. Trees? Same as before.Transformer stations have redundancies and if it fails neighbourhood feeds off neighbouring stations, all have 30% overheard emergencies.Hell you can bomb a substation and my power will not drop.Just first world things you wouldnt understand, thirdie.
>>22263123if you live in texas you're basically a thirdie btw
>>22263157so which flyover shithole are you from lol
>>22263137No, not all outside lines are buried. That isnt always possible. Plus older lines that are above ground which still work are typically left in place. Rural areas in the United States do not have as much backup power as more populated areas. >First world third worldPlease take your outdated Cold War terms and go back to TokTik to fight your culture war
>>22262872>responds in a hyper feminine wayThe irony
>>22263230This. It's important to keep in mindarge portions of the United States still aren't electrified. The only reason any rural area in the South has power at all is because of the TVA.
>>22262872Try not to break a nail typing 'merican femboy
>>22261516>ruins indoor air qualityCombustion efficiency is high enough to be insignificant provided the use of a hood and fan. Cheaper than electric (natural gas is practically free, as a byproduct for oil drillers). Don't spill shit, no problem. The real case against it is earthquakes and shitbrain neighbors being incapable of turning the main 90 degrees to offafter one.
>>22261516>memeYou're dumb. Gas is best.
>>22261680You’re right, gas is for real cooks… or neets, i.e. people who get paid to cook food or don’t have anything better to do. That isn’t me though. Induction all the way
>>22262002I run a propane stove in my ice shack for heat and I'm not retarded
>>22262981Power and water back in Brazil works far better than in the US.People here just know they have it better, reality be damned.
>>22261516Another retard who has never suffered extended power outages, only to be saved by:1. An analog Gas range and oven2. A Gas water heater
>>22263182>which flyover shitholeTexas.
