can i get tips for what i can manage to cook with a microwave and/or how to make it not taste fowl?
>>
>>22259919
I always throw away the flavor package and just use my own spices and stuff.
>>
>>22259919
they have mushroom flavor outside the US and I don’t know why they’re keeping this from us. it sounds bretty good
>>
>>22260144
Tonkotsu. Tonkatsu is a cutlet.
>>22260232
afaik, Maruchan doesn't exist in that form outside of the US and I know that the specific mushroom variety pictured was once sold stateside.
Maruchan lobster and crab were available in the early 90s but have long since disappeared inexplicably.

They all seems the same to me,just something you eat to not starve and add sodium to your diet. However I admit I enjoy eating the spicy ones on a cold and it's a comfort food during those bleak winter days
>>

Cold cuts sandwiches.Chicken or turkey breast slices or tuna if you're into that sick shit, gouda cheese, tomato, lettuce, cucumber, Philadelphia cream cheese, the possibilities are endless

>get two maruchan ramen packages, any flavor
>add fresh diced onion and sliced carrots to 2 cups (1 pint) of water
>add both seasoning packets from maruchan ramen packages
>boil
>add second 2 cups (1 pint) of water
>bring to a boil
>add noodle bricks
>boil for 3 minutes
>drain liquid
wa la.

I've never gotten tired of standard Chicken, standard Beef has always been pretty bland, standard Chili or Pork are my go-tos. Roast Beef is nice but rare, chicken picante was odd, creamy chicken was inedible.
>absolute favorite
Mama brand creamy shrimp

sauté the carrots and shit beforehand yeah but I ain't eating crunchy 3 minute boiled carrots in my Raymond noodles
>>
>>22260788
standard chicken smells like a sweaty nutsack. the smell of chicken maruchan is actually nauseating. I do not understand how it's one of the most popular flavors.
>>
Oriental.
>>
>>22259919
Just chili, always chili. It doesn't taste like chili exactly, but more of a cajun. I add dash of chili oil sesame oil, and veggies, typical ramen enhancers ect, but chili flavor is always the base. I'd try more flavors but it's always been limited at my local stores.
>>
>>22262833
it tastes like cumin which to be fair is the predominant flavor of a typical chili spice mixture

>>22261037
oriental is by far the worst flavor anyone that thinks soy sauce is so good that it should be the primary flavor of their meal is out of their mind
>>
>>22259919
Creamy chicken but you didn't put it there because you're a faggot
>>
>>22262930
you can make any ramen flavor creamy by just adding any dairy product to it. it's kind of an unnecessary flavor variety.
>>
How is that picante chicken one? I’ve been meaning to have it for like forever.
>>
>>22262907
>it tastes like cumin
No it fucking doesn't, retard.
>>
>>22262907
Soy sauce ramen exists. Oriental is not just soy sauce
>>
>>22263225
Soy sauce is literally the same flavor as Oriental. The official statement was that soy sauce better reflects the flavor, but we all know the real reason for the name change.
>>
>>22259919
Oriental or Cajun chicken

I remember there was a chicken mushroom and mushroom in the US back then. Teriyaki is another lost flavor, it smelled horrible when cooking but tasted alright.
>>
>>22263400
Also tomato, crab, lobster and California vegetable, which was the best one of all.
>>
>>22263185
I strongly believe it does I've been eating it for 20 years. it's paprika and cumin. i.e. chili powder. the cumin quantity is very small but cumin is an unmistakable flavor. it was made to emulate Mexican spice mixes. they even have a recipe for tequila shrimp ramen on the official page for it.

>>22263225
they renamed oriental to soy sauce. they're are the same product with a different name. they renamed it because people found oriental to be a racist term. it was always soy sauce flavored. Yes it has other ingredients like beef powder (most random flavors have a powdered stock) but it is designed to be soy sauce flavored and the primary flavoring ingredient is powdered soy sauce.
>>
>>22263545
>I strongly believe it does
Well, first let me apologise for calling you a retard but it absolutely does not have any cumin at all. It's chili powder. Chili powder does not have cumin. Chili packet mix does have cumin but the straight powder does not and nor does the ramen.
Admittedly, I've not had it in over two decades so if something changed and there's cumin now, well bully for you, but considering Maruchan are one of the few companies to just discontinue a product rather than tweak it, I'm 90% sure there's no cumin in it at all.
>>
>>22263246
>>22263545
No shit? Here i am thinking Oriental and Soy Sauce were different flavors. /ck/ is a place to learn.
>>
>>22263568
I emailed Maruchan and asked. I'm willing to be wrong. I'm certainly not a gourmand.
>>
>>22263568
>It's chili powder. Chili powder does not have cumin.
It doesn't according to ingredients, but all the flavors are researched lab recipes with tiny percents, so anything could have anything, and be tweaked. I'd forgive a taste being mistaken.
>>
>oriental
>pork
>mushroom
>spicy chicken

Buldak, i'm addicted to super spicy sloppa
I have really high spice tolerance so I like it hot but the 2x spicy variants are a little too much for casual consumption and it really doesn't need to be that hot, it becomes really distracting at that point.

I prefer the regular spicy chicken, its hot enough and tastes better. I usually add like 75% of the sauce pack and then add my own chili crisp in oil and a few other additions.
