I never do this because I am aware of the energy input it takes to produce food and hate wasting it.

One day Walmart is going to be able to track that shit probably and they'll just charge you.

Then again, it's probably more likely that the major grocery stores are going to hit a breaking point in the next ten-twenty years, and they'll just shutter their stores, you won't be able to go in and shop like you used to. You'll show up and either pickup everything like it's takeaway, or you'll order everything from a tablet. All becuase they want to stop theft.

it's irritating to see at least partially because you know that preteen is going to have to clean it up when it's spoiled and their shitty middle manager will take out their frustration at their life on all the employees underneath them. there's a difference between being self-sufficient as you are and someone being antisocial for no reason. if you pick up something refrigerated how difficult is it to put it back where you found it? same logic as the cart, it's a net zero interaction to put something back where you got it and keep the environment unchanged vs actively making it worse out of pure antisocial "fuck you i don't wanna" narcissistic laziness. that same laziness is also partially why some others are bitching that they have to scan or bag anything - everyone here feels like basic interactions are beneath them when it's just being a normal autonomous person.
    >>
    >>22258038
i was thinking in practical scenarios. not grabbing every single cart but if someone just has one sitting in the parking lot yeah grabbing that with yours or any others. it gets unwieldly when you have three or more stacked at once, but it seems like such an unnecessary dick move to walk right past it when it takes two seconds to grab. especially when there's bad weather and some teenage employee will have to go hunt it all down in the cold/rain when they could be using that time for actual necessary work. they're never actually stacked here, people just throw them wherever, so i always push them together too. it's just more efficient if anything and the extra steps are appreciated. same with trash - why NOT pick it up if it's there and people are walking past? sure seems like others actually pause and start doing it themselves too if they notice someone bothering to take care of things.

This. Also if you have them bring it out to your car or delivery there's the very real possibility all your cold stuff has been left out for over an hour maybe even 2 hours both because no one cares and because it's way too busy. For a whole year I've been pretty much the only non-management person that even notices if something's been out too long and every time I mention it to my coworkers it's like yeah whatever leave it go do this other thing instead like I'm a retard or something for wanting to prioritise cold stuff. I've had milk cartons literally bulging and they're like um maybe it's still fine. Mold on some produce? Just wipe it off with a paper towel. Also there's bugs flying around the produce area nowadays and expired dairy products hidden at the rear of the shelves because no one rotates it's all just go go go faster now, and pull just one layer of items forward to make it look nice for a picture. Everything is fast and half-assed it's all basically one big scam.

Also as a customer I love self checkout, it's faster and I don't have to deal with yet another human in my daily hell. Plus I can bag it better than the retards they hire nowadays.

Going to the supermarket with my ex wife drove me insane. A 10 minute grocery run turns into 45 minutes of bullshit.
In the end id always just give her like 2-3 items from the list to pick up on her own while I did the rest of the shopping so she had time to wander around the store aimlessly and imbibe as much advertising as possible.
I swear id be at the checkout with a full cart of groceries and still have to wait for her to finally come with the bread and butter i asked for aswell as 5 other useless items that caught her interest.

I started picking up roadside trash on my road because it was everywhere, since then 2 other people have started doing it too.
    Feels good man.

As cheesy as it sounds, it just feels good to do good for goodness sake. See an old lady with groceries by herself and she's got cases of water? Ask if you can help load it in the car. See trash in the shopping cart? Unless it's a diaper (yes, some parents are THAT lazy) just take the cart over to the trash can and toss the waste if you can.

Could you post some examples of each?

A man works as a baker 12 hours a day, six days a week. He comes in at 7:50pm, 10 minutes before we close. He shuffles through the aisles, collecting ingredients in preparation for the next day. He leans on his shopping trolley to relieve his aching back. When he comes to the checkout, he leaves a cake box full of day old pastries and pies. He always apologises for being late, but always finishes shopping before 8:00pm.

A normal looking woman with a teenage son asks where we stock ice as I am checking her out. I tell her we don't. She asks me why. I tell her we only stock it in summer. She flatly asks where the nearest Bottle Shop is, to buy ice. She wants the name so she can get directions on her phone. I tell her I don't know the name but give her directions. She scoffs and begins searching on her phone before she has paid for her items, holding up the growing line of customers. She stops after a few long moments and pays, without giving me another glance. Have a nice afternoon, I say.

    >i don't have to wait as much
That's because they reduced the number of cashiers so you have to wait in line if you want a wagie to check out your items like they're supposed to.

nah I think there is a certain genre of man who doesn't go out much but still has a functional sense of wonder, probably over-represented here

    >>22266766
also a good cardio job. Hate going to the gym, would probably never "work a trade" but kind of loved inefficiently running around the backroom, lifting shit up and putting it down

Yes. Boomers and blacks were identical in shopping practices. They'd both leave chicken bones and nut shells all over the store and would bitch and moan about anything to get any kind of discount. Indians and somalis had the worst children. Asians were great. Most whites were good. Mexicans were also good

Me and my friends used to do this with frozen produce as teens. We thought it was the funniest shit. Looking back on it I don't understand how it was funny and I wish I could punch my teenage self in the face.
