Bringing a new cosplay this year, The Ronin from Star Wars Visions (it's an anime, sue me).

Going this year but most likely alone so hopefully I meet some cool people while I'm there. I'm not really in the michigan anime scene so I'm not aware of anything happening beyond the convention.

I will be volunteering in the arcade for one of the guys who brings JP arcades and candy cabs, but I hope you all have an awesome time if you do attend. I went last year for the first time and I think it was fine, but not as big as I had heard it had been (if that makes sense). Didn't seem to be any drama (outside of the owner of the console game company causing problems) and the weekend was uneventful in the good way, so things are looking up.

Durring the con boom of the 2010s the founder and a lot of the higher ups where funneling money for their own use, including buying a giant house to live with his egirl concubines. They even stoll from the charities they teamed with. There where a lot of rape accusations when this all blew up which kind of lines up with all the rumors from all the years and the stuff that was true didn't help.

Still the new staff is a bit better and most of the older guard is gone. Also the midwest /cgl/ group are all drama farmers so take most of it with a grain of salt anyways. They are still trying to cover up their own sins from years ago.

They fucked up something with badges so staff, contractors, vendors, and artists don't have badges yet. Today is a "free day" so anyone can come and go without badges.

What an absolute shit show and it hasn't even started. Forgot to get badges, Nazi Vtuber drama, what will be next?
