i'm not saying every person needs to have the same accurate body as the character they are cosplaying as, call be fatphobic but seeing ugly ass fat pigs cosplay and expect compliments annoys me.

I don't know how they are not disgusted of being a fat bag, and looking like a pork compared to slim or fit cosplayers.
    >>
if fat people had any sense of self awareness they wouldn't have let themselves gain that much weight to begin with.

    >>

    >I don't know how they are not disgusted of being a fat bag
It's simple; get addicted to fast food (usually during college), then once you've achieved domain expansion from eating it all the time you either go through weight loss (hard) or give in to your addiction and choose to feel good through eating over being healthy and looking good (easy). It's the same reason why potheads look and smell like that, the mentality is who cares as long as you feel good.
    >>
    >>10960719
Can't ignore their odor when they are standing next to me in line wearing fucking winter clothes on the hot day. If you don't think fat bitches doesn't have odor, think again.
    >>
    >>10960719
I don't get why people are mad others are fat/ugly/disabled, it's not your problem. If anything you could use it as an ego boost.
    >>
    >>10960776
They make the general area uglier by existing within it. They smell horrible, and their mobility mary scooters make it hell at smaller cons in the vendor area as they take up more room than a semi truck. I don't have any ill will towards the disabled, but fat fucks are disgusting and ruin things by being allowed to exist there
    >>
    >>10960778
so basically you feel like you have to put in effort to tolerate their presence, and because they obviously can't put in effort to lose weight, it feels gross and disgusting to you.

I think you're just a disgusting person on the inside desu

thats not true at all. Third world countries are full of obese people.
    >>
    >>10961409
the schrödinger third worlder. is simultaneously obese and has no food
    >>
I wish fats died in their 20's so we wouldn't have to watch them balloon up and to maximum capacity and then pop at 40. I will never have a fat friend because I would be mortified to be seen with a person with so little self control. You high-calorie pieces of shit are literally subhuman to anyone that puts in the bare minimum of effort. Enjoy
    >>
    >>10961419
    How is that possible?!
    >>
    >>10961447
Fast food is still addicting in the third world, in some cases even more so than in the west because there are less regulations on sugar. If you're addicted and short on cash, you'd use your limited resources to get the food that you're addicted to, hence this paradox where the poorest countries still have many obese people.
    >>
    >>10960477
depends on how fat. slightly to moderately overweight girls are some of the hottest there are but morbidly obese landwhales can be pretty unsightly

As long as you're cosplaying a character who matches your body type, you have nothing to be worried about and that sounds like an amazing cosplay you should post pics. It's only when you're a three hundred pound hambeast stuffing yourself into a spiderman suit that you're just ruining everyone's experience.

My husband and I are big (not 600 pound butterball turkey big, but not petite, probably need to lose 30ish pounds) and we both like cosplay (I LOVE making clothes). Our first (so far only) cosplay was actually Shrek and Fiona, we painted ourselves green and everything. He even carried me over his shoulder and I acted like I was exasperated about it a few times. It was a ton of fun! It never seemed right to us to try and cosplay as a character we looked radically different than. I mean, we used stuff on our faces to look more like the characters because neither of us had the right face type, but that was something we were easily able to change. Dressing up as a petite Japanese schoolgirl when you're 600 lbs is just ridiculous, and I'll never understand why people do it. It's one thing if you like the clothes or do it privately or whatever, but it's downright distracting at a con, in my opinion.

Not only distracting because of how much they stick out and look bad, they tend to be rude and smell bad, too. If you're disabled, I get that it can be a struggle to lose weight, and I sympathize for a similar reason. And you can let a certain amount of being overweight go, maybe you eat more fast food than you should because you're busy or you cope with stress by eating an extra serving of dessert, whatever. But by the time you're pushing an extra 40, 50 lbs you HAVE to realize there's a fucking problem here. I can't exercise much so when I lose weight I go on a water fast. It sucks for like 3 days and you feel like shit then you hit the mania part of your fast and it's smooth sailing from there. If you're someone who CAN hit the gym or reliably go for walks then you don't even have to be that drastic about it, someone the size of OP's pic could literally just put one less scoop of food on her plate and go for a 15 minute walk every day and start losing weight. I DON'T. GET IT.

What is the point of cosplaying a character unless you're trying to LOOK LIKE them?
    >>
    >>10960442
At least when it comes to cosplay, it's better if you try for things that actually fit the body type. There's a handful of fat anime characters that definitely work.
    >>10961447
Junk food tends to be cheaper than produce in some places. It's a similar issue in the US where healthier foods tend to be more pricey unless you know how to cook (in which a shockingly large amount of people don't). Then again, the main US advantage is that portion sizes are so huge you can end up with leftovers often, so it does save you quite a bit of money if you're not a big eater.

In Germany it's pretty hard to find a fat cosplayer. If fatties go to cons they just go there in regular clothes.

Also I'm 5'6" and 125 pounds. It's not fat but also not anime girl or Nora Fawn level of skinny. Should I lose weight? All my friends tell me it's stupid and that I'm hot but it feels like they're trying to sabotage me.

i genuinely dont understand how the "cosplay is for everybody" people dont realize that your looks will always be important when cosplaying. it isnt about how good your outfit looks, if youre fat as fuck, only women will like you. even as a younger teenager, i was pretty sickly with genetic hormonal problems so all my medications made me a little chubby. before i decided to start partaking in competitions though, i made sure to lose 50lbs first. but now im underweight kek

    >>10960778
i personally dont mind them because if anything, if youre around a bunch of ugly people, if youre average, youll look good. but this has kind of been flipped on its side for me though, as all my chubby friends cut me off after i lost weight because they "feel they look bad" around me.

I didn't get into cosplay because I'm fat and I like food more than the idea of spending money to dress up as a character and take a photo.
I hate seeing fat people complain and through force of mass, force stuff to be worse.
Only thing worse than the fat cosplayer (unless they go all in and dress as a fat character) are the simps that enable it.
    >>
don’t understand how they actually expect cosplay companies to realistically make good cosplays for them anyway. it uses like triple the fabric and their bodies are so distorted from what humans actually are supposed to look like that drafting a pattern that shit genuinely might be impossible. that 15xl bullshit should be at least double the price just because of the extra work and materials
    >>

My issue is twofold. One how just about every obese cosplayer is trying to do some cute loli character that they're the exact opposite of. Secondly how fucking annoying and obstructing cosplayers so fat they need a mobility aid or wheelchair tend to be.

    >>10969099
This, nothing tastes as good as thin feels. Cosplaying is fun and all but your quality of life in general is directly proportional towards having a decent physique. Both from a health perspective and a social perspective.
Then again physiognomy, fat people tend to be ugly on the inside too.

also a former fattie here I think we have more hatred for fat people than anyone because we understand the lies way better

"Oh your body just wants to be this size" "BMI is inaccurate/racist/sexist" "healthy at any size" "you can be fat AND hot".

All fucking lies and I feel stupid for believing any of them for even a second, its all just a cope because there's so many fatties that their lies are louder than truths, and people who have never been fat don't question it since they don't understand how fucking much you have to eat and be idle for so long to get so fat.

    >>10961447
Its kind of like what the other anons are saying, junk food is nutritionally similar to slop they feed to cows and pigs and animals. Carbs/fat are cheap and lean protein is expensive. Supply of food isn't actually a global issue, but availability is, so places that are poor get the cheap processed bullshit where you can eat 1000 calories of it and not feel full or nourished. The fattest country in the world is a tiny island called Nauru and its because their supply of natural fish and fruit they were eating before was destroyed, so now they basically subsist on prison food and meat scraps from other countries that are super unhealthy like turkey necks, there's a really good video about it here:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Ih3tDP-pv8

Generally the food industry is very predatory and wants to be in perfect sync with the healthcare industry to make people fat and miserable, at least in the USA.

I wouldn't say they ruin everything simply by existing with the desire and ability to cosplay.

What is harmful is when some of them take it upon themselves to "call out" the fans of cosplayers who are in-shape or thinner.
That shit reeks of jealousy and creates unnecessary competition for those who aren't in it for the money/fame. Then they bring up politics and morality to guilt the community, when in reality this isn't a reflection of politics, its a social issue.

tourist from /tg/ here. I've done LARPs out innawoods with groups, its basically D&D innawoods, and I can't understand why some people are unwilling to take a role, or in this case, dress as a character fitting of their body type.
I'm admitedly a Fatass that can't run, but I know the archetypes of character/costumes I can run.
Fat Merchant Prince with a harem of retainers because I got hella money? yep, I'm the Sultan of Bling.
If I want to play something more aggressive and get into combat, I play a role where I'm dressed up like a barbarian with a big old axe and shaman powers and boom, I can play that role.
Sometimes, when I played a monster, as requested by the LARP admins, I put on a costume they intended for bigger people and I go on to play as a big ol' Ogre or a Stone Golem and the slow nature of those creatures combined with their hardy stat lines makes it so players have to play around the creature I'm incarnating and that's great fun.

PLAY AND COSTUME TO YOUR STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES.
