I do 11% of my 70k salary then my employer matches 4%I also max my Roth IRA and HSAThat's 22k altogether. I feel like I "should" do more but I want money in my accounts for living now too
>>62842127Buddy, you aren’t going to see your retirement account. I don’t have time to explain it to you, but I’m 37 and cashing mine out next month in a lower income year and taking my lumps. Best of luck anon, write me off as schizo and sleep easy
Max 401k + 457b + HSA + traditional RothAll the rest goes into tax brokerage account anyways. I only keep about 40k in the bank for emergency expenses.
>>62842127UK here but I've been stuffing my pension for the last few yearsI'm terrified of being made obsolete by AI
>>62842207For me its inevitable I have probably 10 good earnings year left. America has zero social safety net as well.
>>62842127you will never WAGMI
>>62842231Are you nuts, we’re the largest welfare state on Earth by far. You get money just for existing in retirement, which shouldn’t be the case but FDR thought a pyramid scheme would somehow benefit the country.
>>62842390>he thinks SS will exist in 20 yearsKWAB
>>62842127I make too much to contribute to a Roth.I don't contribute to a 401k. The negatives imo outweigh the positives. Others may differ on this, and that's ok, but when politicians start murmuring about seizing retirement accounts and putting the money into the Social Security fund "for our benefit" I take them seriously. I have several brokerage accounts that get around $8k/mo. Mostly index funds, with a few individual stocks for fun.
>>62842390FDR was a piece of shit. Look into his "emergency livestock reduction" order. Guy made sure the people were poor and starving to make way for WW2 and the new notion that war is good for business.
>>62842390For niggers and boomersNot for (you)

Kek. The retitement age will be raised 90 years old before you’re even in your 50s
>>62842127I think I do 15% last I checked. Then Max the IRA at the start of every year, the. Invest into a brokerage account when and where I can.
>>62842127What's a 401K?
>>62842127>max my Roth IRAThis is actually impossible given the backdoor roth investment.
