why don't you just quit your job and go travel?
    >>
    >>62841113
To where? With what money? Doing what? To gain what?

Are you a retarded teenage girl by any chance?
    >>
At a certain age, traveling alone only makes you feel lonelier and sadder
    >>

I traveled too much when I was a kid. Now I just want to relax and paint for a while…
    >>
    >>62841113
There are seriously based travellers, but I have found like 95% of people who tell me their hobby is travel are terribly shallow people with constant need for external stimuli to not be perpetually bored. Imagine being even able to be bored when you have access to almost everything ever written and thought. I cannot relate or tolerate this feeling.
    >>
Poor people hating on traveling as a hobby due to immense jealousy will never stop being funny
    >>
    >>62841319
    Lol
    >>
    >>62841307
If they found what they were looking for, then they got it. That they didn't find it compels them to keep looking. So that's all they're doing. Then since they are the same as me in that regard, I am willing to extend a little sympathy. I (may) think exactly what you think but I choose to let them just know silently in their hearts I think that without saying it (be intimidated by me for no visible rationally explainable reason). Because they already know I think that about them, they always knew I thought that about them. Because I never gave a shit what they think, we're all happy together. That helps me tolerate that feeling, if that helps.
    >>
It feels very aimless and purposeless quickly. Also there are plenty of hot women where i live and i get them more easily because i’m at my ”homebase” where i can provide for the women better and women like providers.
    >>
    >>62841337
    >It feels very aimless and purposeless quickly
That says a lot more about you than it does about traveling
    >>
    >>62841340
I’m more of a guy who likes to improve things rather than just educate myself endlessly.
    >>
    >>62841341
And that's fine. Different people enjoy different things

i quit my job in july and traveling until mid nov

100% worth it but i do have sizeable nesr egg

age 39 slightly worried about my chances of getting my old salary back but not really. actually dont think i can tolerate wagecuckery ever again but we will see how freelance/trying to do my own thing woeks out

im 39 dont do it old like me do it when ur 20s so u dont look weird trying to meet people during ur travels. i was able to meet a girl in half my destinations via app
    >>
    >>62841354
    >im 39 dont do it old like me do it when ur 20s so u dont look weird trying to meet people during ur travels
Just sign up for food/night life tours even if you don't need your hand held. Those tours are full of travelers in their 30s, 40s and 50s, many of them solo so you can easily find temporary travel friends to hang out with later.

Bar and pub crawls are where all the people in their 20s go to meet other travelers. When you're pushing 40 that might be a bit weird
    >>
    >>62841125
I'm 38 and going to Tokyo alone now and I'm super hyped. Solo vacations are the best, you can just do whatever you want. In my case, I love aimlessly exploring.
    >>
    >>62841358
    >Just sign up for food/night life tours
And over the years when I've traveled solo I have done this at least a hundred times (in my late 20s and 30s) and I can count on 1 hand the times that I didn't meet someone that I didnt end up hanging out with later on the trip. And I'm not a social butterfly at all, so if you actually have social skills it should be piss easy
    >>
    >>62841364
Me too, only 5 days till touchdown. Will be my 12th solo trip to Tokyo. I find people to hang with every time though. Tokyo is easy mode for solo travelers, even autistic ones
    >>
    >>62841378
I'll be staying with Japanese couchsurfing hosts, that's good enough for me.
    >>
    >>62841113
If by travel you mean become homeless then yeah, I've been mentally preparing for that scenario for years now.
    >>
    >>62841400
If the hosts end up sucking, welcometokyo has like 4 bar meetups every week where tourists, expats, nips looking to learn english and some gaijin hunters looking to fuck mingle for 3 hours before heading out to clubs, etc. Usually like 40-50 people on the weekends between ages 18-50
    >>
    >>62841429
    Nice. You mean this? https://www.welcometokyoevents.com/
    >>
    >>62841434
Yes. The one on fridays at 7:30pm in Shinjuku is great. Lots of expats, nips and a lot of space to move around from group to group. The one at 7pm on sundays in Shibuya has a lot of people but the bar is tiny so it’s very hard to move around. I dont go on weekdays anymore but when I did it was like 10-20 people at most, and mostly tourists
    >>
That's exactly what I did since 16 months ago. Net worth was like $2.2 million so I quit my job and moved to Thailand to live with my Lao gf. We travel to other Asian countries or Thai islands every 3 months.
    >>
    >>62841434
    >>62841445
On an average weekend I would say the age of participants looks something like this

    >20-29: 50%
    >30-39: 30%
    >40-49: 15%
    >50+: 5%

So there are a lot of people around your age there

Travelling is okay. But why would you want to interact with other people while there?
    >>
    >>62841121
To Thailand, with my crypto gains, having sex with hot ladyboys, to gain risk of STDs. I am a genius adult man btw.
    >>
    >>62841648
    You attract what you are.

If all the people you meet on your trips are shitty and uninteresting people, well…
    >>
I recently traveled to Norway with a bunch of Italian and Germans. For all the shit Americans get, these people were all fat as FUCK, but they also all smoked tons of cigarettes, stinking up the tour bus
    >>
    >>62841113
    >quit your job and go travel?
maybe it's because i'm not a mentally retarded normgroid, but this sounds unbearable. why would i want to live in a hotel for several months? i'd rather be at home, where i can read books, cook new meals, shitpost, tinker with my autistic projects, etc.
    >>
    >>62841706
    >tour bus
Are you 75 years old? Rent a car and explore at your own pace like a normal person
    >>
    >>62841673
My favorite thing to do in the realm of this type of interaction is to find, or dig you might say, something about a dim bulb to find interesting, communicate as nicely as possible to that person that something completely mundane about them might have some value to anybody, watch their face show utter astonishment that I didn't just either kiss their ass or attack them needlessly, then walk away and do something else instead of wasting precious time talking to birds

I did it when I was 38yo, quit my job and travelled for more than a year. I owned an apartment (no debt) and 75K cash, it was enough for more than a year and I had set myself a limit that I was going to look for a new job when cash was down to +/- 6 mnths of expense. It worked perfectly. I travelled all continents, occasionally came home to my apartment and spent a few weeks chilling and organizing the next trip. Visited prostitutes on every continent just to relax and not depend on (much more difficult) encounters with normal women. 10 / 10 would repeat.
Well, when I returned I found a good job and met my wife so now I'm happily married. Have saved new nest egg and will soon quit again and travel with her.
    >>
    >>62841125
You know traveling alone doesn’t mean you have to be alone the whole time, right?

When I travel with other people it’s hard to branch out and meet new people, but when I’m alone I have to force myself to do it, and I have made plenty of great new friends along the way
    >>
    >>62841715
You aren't denying Europeans are just as slovenly and fat as the Americans they make fun of
    >>
    >>62841113
As soon as you run out of money, you die. Money is like your health bar except the regen is very slow.
    >>
    >>62841113
When I was young, I wished to travel and visit Europe, especially Italy. Now it is completely raided by immigrants, and it is as dangerous as my abode, Brazil. Even Japan, my last hope, shows signs of invasion. Why is every first-world country being invaded? Travelling seems horrifying.
    >>
    >>62841113
Woman go travel to meet chad and breed and it is survival.
Man go travel to meet chad and start culling each other to then breed the woman, it is legacy.
    What is the problem?
    >>
    >>62841728

At 38, I decided to tell the circus to shove it, quit my job and disappear into the world for over a year. No debt, a fully paid-off apartment and $75K in cash. Basically, financial planning for irresponsible clowns.

I set one rule: when my money dwindled to roughly six months of living expenses, I'd start looking for another job. Until then, the world was my bloody playground.

    And it worked PERFECTLY.

I travelled every continent, occasionally returned to my apartment for a few weeks of recharging, chilling and planning the next adventure. I also visited prostitutes on every continent because, frankly, sometimes you just want to relax without navigating the magnificent shitshow of trying to hook up with regular women. Different strokes for different circus animals.

10/10. Would recommend. Would absolutely repeat.

Eventually, I came home, landed a great job and met my wife. Now happily married, I've rebuilt the nest egg and am preparing for round two.

Except this time I'm taking my wife along for the ride.

Same circus. Bigger tent. Two clowns. No bloody retirement plan just yet.
    >>
    >>62841350
Yeah but people like him are useful. Traveling self-finder girls are only good at draining their husband accounts
    >>
im the other way around. i travel and dont have a job.
    >>
I took a vacation once... What are you supposed to do? Just wander around looking at old shit, eating overpriced nasty foreign food, buying trinkets that will just gather dust on the shelf, stay in "historic" hotels (aka, some artfag killed themselves there in the 20s and now they don't need to have good air conditioning or sufficient hot water)? Is it supposed to be fun to talk to the local hicks -- about what?? They're just the same townies I have at home just speaking some gobbledgook made up language.

After all the organizing and traveling I did not find this meaningfully more relaxing than just salarycucking through the week and sleeping in and jerking off on the weekends at my own home.

    >>62842805
with enough traveling youll realize third world countries are the same but cheaper
    >>
    >>62841661

Std is just the genuine connection to lock down a potential breeding partner.

I lived in Germany for 4 years,,
The UK for 6 months, and Poland for 3. I visited most of Europe but not anywhere in asia or south America. I'm 30 now and probably getting married but I wish I took a couple months to travel asia and have as much sex as possible. Even if it was mostly prostitutes
    >>
    >>62842709
It was not retirement. It was changing the rules of the game completely.

The warm air on an airport in asia where I landed on the first leg of my adventure, the scents of tropical flowers, sewage in the nearby lagoon, and engine smoke - it smelled like victory.

META WONT LET ME DELETE MY BUSINESS PAGE WTF IS GOING ON. MY LIFE IS IN DANGER MARK ZUCKERBURGGER YOU KILL INNOCENT PPL DAILY!!!!

    >>62842805
You're supposed to incorporate your hobbies into your travels. Not just walk around aimlessly, lmao

You like to hike? Then you travel places that are great for hiking. You like to scubadive? Then you travel places that are great for scubadiving. You like history? Then you travel places of historical importance, and so on
    >>
    >>62841113
I tried that but I hate traveling.
    >>
    >>62841113
I yearn for traveling, but my country is at least 10+ hours from anywhere different. When I do get that beloved holiday crossing the hemisphere, it turns Winter into Summer and I love every minute of it. The problem is the dreadful last 1-2 days, the moment you go to that country's airport you are no longer with that race - it's all Indians and Asians and you know you're going back to that same demographic where you reside. It's a sickening feel.

Anywho, what do non-clubbing/glutton/drinking people like to do? I try to find annual or other special events taking place in that country, or take pictures with the trusty camera.
    >>
    >>62843690
    >what do non-clubbing/glutton/drinking people like to do?
    See >>62843651

I tailor my trips around like 5 core hobbies and then I spend the remaining days doing what you do, going to local events and concerts. I wish I had a passion for photography because that would open up the whole world for potential travel but it bores the fuck out of me
    >>
    >>62841421
Animals has been travelling since ever, do you not see how birds constantly travel from one land to another land? It is a survival mode.
