    Based meme.

Most tradoids destroy their backs by age 40. And then they end up having to work at call centers and hardware stores after that. It's a rough life. They start out making tons of money but then lose everything. Whereas if you got to college you'll have that nice corner office someday.

Besides, tradecels give women the ick. When she's out and her friend is talking about a young lawyer she's dating, you think she's going to talk about how her fiance is a steamfitter?

I have yet to see a robot fixing ac units. By the time they get that figured out, I will be long gone anyways. Nice try though

    Free tip

Anytime a company attempts to make the robot humanoid looking for no particular reason, the robot is for show, not for practical use.

The only exception is customer service type robots that people expect to look more humanoid
    >>
    >>62840901
This. Dumb fuck blue collars think robots = these humanoid ones, but there are already so many factories run by robots now. They see humanoid robots and think “these can’t do my job” not knowing robots don’t gotta be humanoids. Look at video in op, that is a robot.

They will also build each other.
I can't wait until the entire world is one huge robotic megastrcture.
    >>
    >>62840917
Blue collars have been working with and alongside the kind of robotics you're talking about for longer than you were even aware such automation existed. They're more adept at using the tech as it's seen in the field than you can imagine.
    >>
    >>62840329
I think the best bet for the younger generation is to become a lawyer and sue the government every time they break the law or take away your rights
    >>
The world is really going to turn into that south park episode where retards with niche trade skills make megabank after normies realize computer geeks don't understand the trades.
    >>
    >>62840329
Anyone who works in manufacturing knows that automation is retarded in most cases.
White collar fags think it replaces workers, but it doesn't.
It only makes my job more efficient.
    Example:

    I start a job
I tell an automated overhead crane to pick up a specific tool and drop it at a location I determined. I tell it when to do the move, usually a 15min delay.
I prep the location for the tool move.
I get all the materials ready.
Automated crane gets my 10,000lb tool and drops it at my workstation.
I setup the parts and use another automated tool to process the tool and parts I put in it.
That process is automated and takes about 30 min.
While that runs, I set-up another part and tell the crane to make a move in 15min or so.
This time the crane is off by 1/2in, so I have to manually move it 1/2in before the error will clear.
The automated forming tool faults out and I have to apply apply -30hg of vacuum and make sure it applies that accurately.
I then Fill out a maintenance report recording what the machine did wrong and when.
Automation isn't just a fire and forget type of thing.
It fucks up all the time and a human has it be there to fix it.
    >>
    >>62841755
I work with a metrology AI app to help set up drawings and if I don't babysit it through every single feature like its a day 1 quality inspector hire it will fuck up way more than a human. It does make gruntwork like entering in tolerances or handling 100+ features on a drawing simpler, but it lacks critical thinking or the ability to correct itself.
    >>
    >>62840713
I mean this is gonna have to scale so that might be a thing we could still do during our lifetime. Or develop the fixer bots.
    >>
    >>62841755
A lot of times you get insane productivity out of automated equipment but like 25% of the time at the production plant I was working at was us fixing the line. It would fly for an hour then smth breaks and the workers are labeling by hand. 20 minutes later we get it back up and crank out more before the auger clogs and they have to fill by hand. It got way more done when it worked by so many parts working together is tough. And some were bespoke for our line.
Imagine syncing completely sep robots to do a precision task. They'd dump the powder outside the container 50 times before you recalibrate and fix it.
    >>
That looks way more expensive than a Mexican

Anon, do you live under a rock?
We have robotics down to a science for a long long time.
Only fags who haven't work in a production environment would say that.
Giving too much weight to automation means you are a carpet walker or an Indian.
    Possibly both

.t work with robotics on the daily.

    >Me going to college is totally the same as the son of a CEO going to college
The rich kids go to college to check a box, you go to college for lifelong debt and no job prospects.
    >>
    >>62842296
Unskilled labor doesn't work with aerospace.
Not when a simple mistake could cost $500,000 instantly.
The average IQ guys get assigned the easier jobs that pay a lot less.
Average jobs are the 80:20 rule.
    Aerospace is like 60:20

It was always funny seeing blue collar retards spouting about how they can't be replaced on X and how they didn't work hard in school was a good thing since the robots can't clean toilets.

Meanwhile I have hundreds of thousands saved, a nice house, and a pension while these fuckers are still poor as dirt while being replaced by robots.
    >>

Automation has existed for a long time but car washes are still beat out by a few guys with a bucket of water and some soap.
Robots don't scale like AI does, blue collar will win.
