If formulaic processes existed that could earn more than e.g an engineer or doctor with less or equal risk, people would just do that given the entitlements a business gives you (and better distribution over income sources). On one end, probably Peter Theil has the best advice on VC style businesses with the 'competition is for losers' and zero to one mantra, on the other hand he overlooks unattractive businesses that can still print as a single operator like a construction business. Taleb has the best advice re the barbell strategy for how to approach life as an entrepreneur and business orientated person. My $0.02
