Is 'technical analysis' legit?
It can be but macro can modulate the geometry
>>62829486if it was legit then a bot reacting to patterns would get rich
the best technical analysis I ever ignored was in june 2026 when a black guy was talking about how AI was going to the moon and the chart was a triple top and I was like "it can't possibly dump that hard, it's got massive profits".If nigs are bullish on your stock you sell that shit.

>>62829486Broadly, yes, though heavily context-dependent and requiring both experience and a structured approach to be somewhat reliable long-term.>>62829510If astrology makes me money then great!
>>62829486For post-ex analysis? Potentially. For predicting the future? Nope.
>>62829486Technical for short term, hype for mid term, fundamentals for long term

>>62829486Nigga if it was working it would be arbitraged instantly.
>>62829486No because reality cannot be represented on the lines; for example where on the lines can one read and account for a world leaders comments and actions effect on the market?
>>62829486Yea but understand any and every setup could succeed/fail, so your entry on these is vitally important. The bear wedge will often times generate support in the middle of the range so if you’re running a short Thats your signal to bail. The bull wedge will often times get rejected in the middle of the range so if you’re longing, bail. If you visualize these setups as W’s and M’s instead of just one set the picture is clearer. The Falling wedge will often have a point where it breaks outside the range, liquidation happens and then Thats the reversal. These setups are always contained inside larger setups, you might be tying to short a smaller bear wedge Thats contained inside of a bull wedge and it fails because you’re trading against the grain basically. All trading is a combination of information, TA by itself is insufficient for reliable trades.

you need to consider it in context. also, with crypto you need to consider manipulation.
>>62830019>context...is literally everything.Chart analysis itself is bullshitting galore.>crypto...calling that glorified horse betting is an insult to horse betting.
>>62829486You can only identify a pattern once it has already occurred. Any prediction is just guesswork that hasn't been disproven yet.
>>62829486no, it's just astrology for men.In the efficient market hypothosis market movement can't be predicted.

TA is like supporting evidence. If you think of valuation like a legal case, you look at the fundamentals first. P/E ratio, outstanding debt, interest rates. TA is just another tool that helps build a case for direction, and too many people ignore the fundamentals. It's a useful tool, but using TA alone and nothing else is like trying to use population statistics in a murder trial, and you're basically just gambling at that point.
Wouldn't take it too serious. But if you are interested in buying stocks looking at RSI, MACD and bollinger bands first is a nice way to not overpay.
