What would your advice be for a first time investor?

Spend the hours necessary to determine whether or not an asset has potential
Even if something seems like a winner be mindful of world events stalling progress
Investing is ultimately one big self-learning exercise and as long as you do the reading and avoid debt your gains will outpace your losses
Perhaps you will end up picking an asset that retires you all on its own but for most it's a process of rotating gains from one to the next to multiply over and over

Avoid all shitcoins (everything that is not BTC), IPOs, unprofitable meme companies and doomsday youtubers. Do your own research. There's no such thing as get-rich-quick (sure, you'll see a post from the one person who won the lottery but you and I know that won't be you, and no posts from the thousands who tried).

Buy when the greed and fear is in red and sell when is green.
Don't buy when is neutral or green

The stock market is a rigged casino run by people who hate you, and whose primary motivation in life is to fleece you for all you have.

Buy Gold, sit on it through the coming maelstrom of social disruption, and on the other side you'll still own something of value, when everything else is Ashes.

I agree gold is the best hard asset (liquidity, availability as ETF, legal status, etc.) and a very good hedge for the upcoming recession ans monetary debasement.

It's gambling that some retards trick themselves and others into thinking that if you make enough trades and do enough research then somehow you can win and get infinite money

Unless you've got inside info, it's literally just gambling

Don't buy an asset you don't plan to hold long term.
You should have a good understanding of a company's fundamentals before investing. This includes finding things like its P/E, cash flow, margins, etc. Yahoo Finance and Edgar are both very good in this regard.
DCFs are your friend.
Things like crypto or gold are speculative assets that should only comprise a small % of your portfolio (like 5% or something).
YouTubers/Finfluencers/Reddit are generally bad and should be avoided.

I dont know anyone who invested in time and I dont even know how they would, but I guess theres a first time for everything. Obviously none of us are going to have any advice for investing in time, so try it out and report back with the results.

Be patient and don't invest until you have a savings fund built up and not a moment before.
