>>62815980isn't this guy millions of dollars in debt?he turned out to be a fraud
>>62815987i take that back. he's actually over a billion dollars in debt
>>62815987It's a fiction book a ghostwriter wrote for him. He's a good public speaker and a scam artist, so he larped for years as if the things in the book had actually happened.
>>62815995Asia hustle kekNever trust a chink or a loun eye with long nose!
>>62815905What surprised me is that half the book is just the female main character (with whom the jewish author identifies) lusting after big aryan cock. First the spanish chad from argentinia, then blue eyed chad hank rearden, until she final upgrades to green eyed super chad.
>>62815994wtf this guy is just landlord jew?!
>get high on meth and write omegaverse smut>it becomes THE must read to free market enthusiasts

Is this worth a read? Since his predictions about China has completely failed I am a bit skeptical about his work.

>>62816612what the fuck are you talking about lmao read a book dude
Crime and Punishment. An isolated young without money, only eats the instant ramen of his time; full of weird ideas, he fancies himself the ubermench, kills a pawnbroker and falls in love with a prostitute. I can see a /biz/tard going the same path as Raskolnikov
>>62816612Have you ever read a book in your life?
>>62816011That's literally what the core of the book is about.
>>62816007>What surprised me is that half the book is just the female main character (with whom the jewish author identifies) lusting after big aryan cock.Wait, I've only read 'Anthem' by Rand, and that's the plot synopsis for THAT book. I am never reading Atlas Shrugged.
>>62816007>>62820277That's the plot of any book written by a female writer. Economic sideplot is just a flavor for her philosophy.
>>62820418i'd like an autographed copy of this someday
>>62820422anyone ever done an atlas smugged?
>>62815905Atlas shrugged is the dumbest shit I've ever read
>>62816494Sounds like a book some commie banker put together to convince people they can't be trusted to vote in their own interest
why does this book cause so much seethe that replies (from any platform) resort to blatantly lying about its content?anyway, as great as it is for learning philosophy, doesnt really tell you much about /biz/ interests..
>>62820508>anyway, as great as it is for learning philosophy, doesnt really tell you much about /biz/ interests..Gotta disagree. It's the book that gets the business spirit and mindset better than any material ever written. Adam Smith any many others earned capitalism the credit it deserves, but Atlas Shrugged gave it the moral righteousness it lacked previously.
>>62820433why do you say that??
>>62820444This book is based. The majority of people lack the requisite knowledge base to make informed decisions and instead vote only on what makes them feel good and look good to others (rational irrationality). Minimum wage is a prefect example. People vote for it because it makes them look like "the good guy" and they can feel good about themselves for "helping," when in reality they don't understand how prices work--they feel good about voting for it and usually they are not immediately harmed by it.
>>62816096>he didnt read the removed chapters
>>62821263Low IQ
>>62820277you dont wanna know about the fountainhead (her other book) is about then

>>62815994He must be very successful. I could not accrue 1% of that debt if I tried.
this should be required reading.I found out my girlfriend (now ex) actually hated me and I was in an manipulative relationship because of this book.>A true friend will side with you or against you, if the latter, they will tell you why you are wrong>an enemy will always sit on the sidelines until and be undecided until the last minutemy ex gf would never side with me or against me. never supported or didnt support me. just jump on or off the wagon when it suited her, that is an enemy.

>>62816098Didnt read but he was a retard that spoke what young boomers wanted to hear.
>>62815905this book sucks assthe premise that the government controlling private businesses is bad is correct. however the superhero capitalists gunslingers taking on the commies, every single male character wanting to fuck the self-insert female, muh magic railroad metals, the secret hidden city of capitalists is all incredibly stupid
>>62816098he's a central bank shill, so no
Something a bit more light hearted.
>>62816012It's a while since I read this. Is it safe to recommend this to friends and family?
>>62815905lolbert retard baitplay bioshock
>>62816154This, but get the Thomas Dalton translation.
>>62824835>doesn't understand the most misunderstood genius of 18th centuryCope, Seethe, Dilate
>>62828114>play bioshockppffftt ahahahaha
>>62827779Rand is genuinely just a terrible author. >>62828114>>62828358Bioshock is kind of a product of its time. It's very pretty, atmospheric, and well-put together, but shallow as a fucking puddle, the moral choice system is phenomenally pointless and done in the worst way possible, and the quality takes a nosedive overall after the Hephaestus area It is still fun, and I think honestly worth playing for it's extremely unique aesthetic and atmosphere, but I don't think it'll blow your mind unless you're 14 and your main exposure to video games before is Madden and Gears of War on your original xbox 360. As an actual game, and especially as an RPG, Deus Ex 1 was better. In its own series, Bioshock 2 was better, and iterated very well on basically everything but the story. Infinite sucks.
>>62828376did you listen to any audio dairies or understand anything in the game?lots of references to Ayn Rand's books.the whole Fontaine vs RyanA man chooses a Slave obeys? No God's only man?pretty mid wit take. Bioshock 2 sucks compared to 1, but your probably one of those>OMG!!11! I GET TO BE BIG DADDY HUUURRRRRand you can't play a game without multiplayer? im i right or wut?
>>62828487No, Anon, being based on a novel does not change the fact that Bioshock is still a dumbed down console shooter.>and you can't play a game without multiplayer? im i right or wut?I never said anything about multiplayer. You, however, have shown that you're utterly taken in by surface-level details, catchphrases, and literary references that make you feel smart.
>>62828522no, that was you. just because you dont understand it doesnt mean you have to hate.
>>62815905>/biz/ approved booksSeveral decades ago I went to work for an accounting software company. The CEO was big on reading business books, and, once I got through my mandatory onboarding training classes, I found out that every fucking week on Monday morning at 10am, he would hold a mandatory company-wide meeting where everyone was expected to stand around and listen to him bloviate about what he'd read during the past week. He'd spew the most inane babble, like how we all needed "a sense of urgency" in our work. After a little over three months of that nonsense, one day he stood on his little balcony overseeing the big meeting area where we were all standing, and he angrily told us, "The rumors are all false, there will be no layoffs!" The moment I heard that, I began searching for a new job.The CEO wasn't lying. All the people who were still on their probationary periods (first 90 days) were immediately "let go". That didn't count as a layoff. Everyone else new, myself included, got put on PIPs (what you do to an employee you're gonna fire for being a shitty worker). In my case, they gave me the job of installing servers for an upcoming trade show, and they deliberately sabotaged me by giving me bad version numbers for the system packages that I had to install -- using a version of Oracle that their software didn't function with, for example. Because, you see, they didn't care about the trade show, they just wanted an excuse to fire me. Firings aren't layoffs either.Anyway, after two weeks, they put a meeting on my calendar to go over my PIP. At about 9:20am I get a phone call from one of the places I applied to saying I was hired if I wanted the job. I accepted on the phone immediately. They then faxed my acceptance letter to me. I took that into the meeting. My immediate manager started telling me how much I sucked for fucking up the server install, and I showed him the letter, and he switched to asking me if they had any more openings.
>>62828593About a year later I ran into someone else who worked there while I was standing outside Costco, and he told me that they'd dumped one third of the employees, and the CEO eventually got fired by the board too.BTW, the cause of all of this? The CEO had this genius idea to incentivize the sales team by offering them huge bonuses for every customer they signed up. Which would be great except that he didn't specify "paying customer", so the sales team gave out free trials like they were Halloween candy, and all those free trials let them rack up huge bonuses. The CEO saw all these "new customers" and went on a hiring spree for customization consultants (the job I was hired for). Then none of the "new customers" bothered to do anything, because none of them were actually using the software, they just agreed to "free trials" to appease the pushy sales guys. Hence the enormous definitely-not-layoffs.Anyway, all of this is just to say, business books are stupid, and so are the people who read them.
>>62820418Oooh, that reminds me of this one. This one was good.
>>62828593>>62828598unironically, good blog post
>>62823591The absolute state of this board
>>62821892Nope, mostly semi-consensual non-consent.>>62828593>>62828598Good postI would recommend any of Rory Sutherland's "Alchemy" series. He's a very good marketer and behavioral scientist and makes a good case that what really sticks with people is when your message, or ad, or effort seems like it had effort invested in it. Which, I think, is what is going to fuck so many sales teams in the ass in the next few year in depending on AI slop to do all their marketing. It feels cheap and people hate seeing cheap shit. It's like getting a woman dandelions from outside her house before a date.Karrass' books on negotiation are standard textbooks for a good reason. Also read/listen to Cialdini's "Influence" for a 101 lesson on compliance techniques in sales, why they work, and how to spot them.
