Continuing on the last thread's discussion...

It's extremely early days for AI right now as it wasn't a thing until like three or so years ago. I think it will definitely keep evolving and surprising people. We're not going to have robots take over anytime soon but the fact that it's not inconceivable to start seeing things in our daily lives that used to be in the realm of science fiction soon should give you some pause.

In another news, Tesla showed their new Rocket League car just some hours ago. It flies for a while, does flips, drives on walls and ceilings and can use its air boosters to rapidly accelerate. I have no idea how this car will be brought to consumers but the mere fact that it exists in our reality today is amazing to me.

    >>25182674
I think that there are people who are already starting to feel that it has gone too far.

Think about how hard the internet fucked up our brains. What is this going to do to us? We already see people who refer to AI to answer all their questions. They'll drop into a thread and people will be discussing something and then a person chimes in about what the AI says.

Obviously the end state nightmare here is that we literally lose our ontological humanity and sentient understanding, and become like monkeys in space, pressing the buttons as they light up, because they get juice when they press them correctly and in the right sequence. Not because it knows what it's doing.

First we shape our tools, and from there those tools shape us. It's law.

The Tower of Babel of the 21st century. Except this time it will be not only man, but machine who has confounded tongue. Who cannot understand other people, and other machines. When the tower falls.

A closed system will always eventually collapse. A development of AI that focuses on profit over all is never going to be something that grows in the direction something like this needs to grow in order to be a benefit in the long-term that doesn't consume our humanity.

Oppenheimer said it in his final letter and statement to humanity before his passing. He insisted that man's wisdom, philosophy and moral understanding must keep up to pace with technological development, or else it would be our undoing. The logic is sound.

The old adage of playing with fire.

    Curiosity killed the cat.

Strive to be as gods, and you will be humbled by them

The entire Middle East is having to sell just to fund their militaries, rebuild stuff that got blown up, and replace current oil income. And pay for escorts that don't guarantee ships make it through unmolested. Gold is a luxury the wealthiest little kingdoms on the planet can no longer afford.

It kind of reminds me of one of those fidget toy things that cost thousands of dollars but don't actually do anything. It's an engineering flex, and a view into what is capable but these things will never see public roads in this form. Even the speed is just insane. 0 to 60 in less than 2 seconds.

Yeah fucking great how much do these things weigh

Would you give a nigger a flying car? The police chase footage would be fucking amazing but not quite worth it. Imagine you're watching a live chase and then the nigger takes off into the fucking sky and smashes into the helicopter and knocks it out of the sky

It's tempting to draw the pessimistic conclusion. I do so too. But I think there's also a potential future where we find a good balance between humanity and our increasingly autonomous tools. I want to believe that humanity will find a way and that we won't find ourself turning into those blob people from WALL-E

love to see it. We trusted Fagerheim and he delivered. Definitely not a buyer here though, and I have also sold down my oversized WCP position and other o&g names as I've deleveraged in the past few weeks. But very happy about seeing the plan come to fruition. I think the equity is finally about fairly valued here, with upside room as they accelerate asset development. CVE also starting to get into a more reasonable valuation, very pleased with their ATH takeover too as it seems nobody else will be stepping up to bid on it. Both CVE and WCP have been knocking it out of the park both operationally and corporately in the past few years, thse two get a standing ovation from me.

It will likely find its way to market one way or another. They'll probably take off all of the cool air boosters though which just makes it a cool EV with a fire marketing campaign around it. The air boosters will find their market somewhere (military)

Another day, another example of Obsidian missing their type curves. Newer Belly River wells underperform their even more than previous wells. Tired, old, variable acreage. So far they have not been able to get the same bangers as the wells Highwood drilled before they acquired the acreage earlier this year. The world changes but one constant remains: Obsidian stays underperforming.

I didn't say that! I only said I think they can market and sell their technology to the military. It doesn't have to be scifi stuff, all they need to do is make something they can sell to the tax vultures

Galleon goy going to moon? I got a decent amount of shares.

Also can we please go back to January highs. I know Rick rule and Lobo were selling back then. Was there anyone else calling the top then. Lots of people kept claiming it was going to moon. 2026 was pretty disappointing for precious metals. I was legit planning on retiring or semi retiring at the beginning of this year. My portfolio mooning caused me to slack off some at work as well. Now I'm just stuck grinding for another year or two.

Alright for 2027 we going to have another year like 2026 or are we going to get a year like 2025 and start mooning again. Hopefully this year was more of just cooling off and letting prices get stable till next leg up. Any sort of event we can think of. I think inflation and oil prices might drive gold up if all other prices start skyrocketing.

Also anyone know any oil plays or expecting oil to moon so we can profit?

the time to buy oil was in 2025 when everybody was bearish because of "history's biggest glut." Oil can pump higher too but there isn't a real shortage of crude; the shortage is in refining. Jans Svensson above me is right, you're not getting a lot of sweet deals in the oil sector anymore. But that said I still think there is value in the years ahead in names like WCP, XOM, POU, CVE to name a few. But with the major asterisk that they're not exactly cheap anymore unless oil stays high or goes higher. I'd favor integrated companies with a refining segment like XOM or CVE.

Looks like the war is starting back up shortly, my guess would be the day after the midterms lol. I'm also starting to get the feeling that peace may not be likely for a while. We may have to wait all the way until Trump leaves office and we get a Dem president. Unless the Dems can somehow force the war to end with control of the house and senate. This war could really end up going crazy actually. The jews want to hit Iran super hard and I don't know if anyone really knows how much firepower Iran has. They say they will take out all energy infrastructure in the entire region if USA/Israel attacks theirs. Even though I'm an oil bear in the 2+ year out time period, some of those highly levered short life oil plays could definitely end up going crazy. We had $100+ oil for years in the early 2010s, having $200 oil for 2 years is certainly possible. Still thinking we are going back to like $50 after this shit show though.

Starting to look like Iran is winning the war if this report about the Saudis trying to pay off the Houthis is true. The arabs are weak, they have become fat and decadent from jewish money while the Iranians and Houthis were practicing the blade.
Tomorrow is the Israeli election. Netanyahu's opponent is not much different but he is a bit less war hawkish and he is the favorite to win. The hardcore zionists are really trying to keep this war alive, they probably know it's their last chance, but maybe if Kot wins we might actually get the off-ramp. Or maybe just many more months of small strikes and posturing.

Disappointing quarter for West Red Lake yesterday with the stock crashing. Kinda crazy how they can't even get 4 g/t when Pure Gold managed above 4 g/t and the new management have been talking about how their tighter drill spacing and new approach would give them much higher grades. Average grade mined in their last pfs was projected at 8.16 g/t. I think you just have to kinda bulk mine this deposit and accept the mediocre grade because the geology is so complex.

Such a shitty market rn, but imagine if we got peace in both wars this year. Should give us a nice rally. I feel like the walls are closing in on Zelensky and the nafo trannies. I read that Finland and Norway had talked to Russia which my awful warmongering PM didn't like lol. Polls show Europeans are gradually losing support for the war. A poll showed that the vast majority of Ukranians now want a peace deal as soon as possible. Kinda looks like the Iran war starts back up after the midterms as Iran is playing hardball and Trump is probably too prideful to take a poor deal even though everyone from JD Vance to Peter Thiel is saying the war was a mistake. Even Trump himself has now said at a rally that they probably shouldn't have killed their previous leaders as the new ones are more hard line. Very shitty situation for Trump, if he escalates this obviously it's going to end up terribly. Should have an answer soon with midterms on the 3rd.

War will continue, Ukraine is nowhere near finished and has a domestic production industry for their key weapon, fpv drones.

You're reading what you want to happen, not what is actually happening. This is what you all do.

Why would Iran come to terms? It has the world by the nutsack. There is absolutely no real reason for them to come to terms. If they even can. Do you know what happens when you kill the entire leadership of a country? And then kill half the guys who fill those shoes? You have just shifted the power dynamic radically into 30 different directions.

There is no unified body in Iran who could even guarantee an end to hostilities, if they even wanted to. Because the political elite has been fractured down several different lines, and not in a good way.

The strait stays closed. War in Ukraine continues. Bet on it.
    >>
    >>25251541
It is true that European leaders have begun talking to Russian leaders, which they didn't do before. Pretty sure I saw even Zelensky himself say in an interview that he was open to a peace deal freezing current territorial borders. I can see the the discourse change in my own country as well where previously noone even dared call for peace but now many are saying it has to end even if it means giving up territory. You are sure the war will continue because Ukraine has drone production? Brother, they won't have electricity soon as Russia has begun large scale attacks on infrastructure. Their people are tired and demoralized, they want it over with. Noone but the most hardened nafo trannies want the war to continue, there is no victory for Ukraine, only more death and destruction of their country. On the other side Putin wants peace as well and has said so recently.

I think it will for sure. Not the worst project to be in with this downturn in the market, at least it shouldn't be, as it's very high grade and low cost so it doesn't even need a high gold price. Management also finally started marketing recently so feeling pretty good about the prospect of a rerate in the short to medium term even if there's no buyout which is always a possibility. Absolutely abysmal volume right now though, bid was half a cent above last traded price today with a volume of <$100 for the day lol.
But whatever, I can wait a lil bit. I would like to be invested in FVL when they release their PFS but that isn't until probably Q4 next year. The only thing that can save our portfolios in the near term now is a surprise peace deal in the sandbox and maybe even between russia and jewkraine. Think about it, everyone in the world is expecting renewed strikes in Iran during the coming days, it has been telegraphed publicly for some time. It would be unlikely, but not impossible, that some deal is made that lasts for 2-3 years before WW3 proper.

Otherwise gold and silver might continue to decline to 3000 & 35 or some shit if the war resumes full scale

Do you really believe that ending the wars will cause metals to pump? I could at least see miners getting some relief because fuel prices will drop, but that's about it. Gold and silver had their run-ups during the Ukraine war, and at that time many people were referring to war as a positive catalyst for metals. I'm also not convinced that metals/miners will be the first to recover if tech crashes just because it happened that one time, way back.
