Thoughts on the NYC carriage horse ban? A vote has been pushed through after an Indian tourist died in June (first recorded human death in its 168 year history).

The vote is on the 22nd but it's expected to pass. There will be lawsuits though.
    >>
    >>5168627
probably wise. cars are dangerous, ugly imitations of equine perfection. no one should have to be around them, much less horses.
    >>
    >>5168627
I generally see why this is necessary, earlier this year there were a lot of sad videos coming out of very tired and dehydrated horses being forced to work as carriage horses in New York very clearly being mistreated and a few even died and were just left in the middle of the road. Genuinely a heartbreaking story, I also hope that the city has a plan to make sure the horses who will lose those jobs are given nice retirements and don't end up in the slaughter pipeline, but I have confidence they will since New York also performed that massive crackdown on a guy who tried to export a massive truck of horses across to Canada to be killed.

    >this makes the politoid take out the banhammer
    >>
    >>5168643
certain places with carriages are much nicer to horses, but a lot of new york city carriages are very abusive to their horses. it was really bad during the summer and heat waves. there were videos of poor carriage horses collapsing on the road due to the heat because the shitty companies running these carriages weren't giving them water or rest.

I want a return of horse carriages world wide but also a heavy heavy penalty for mistreatment of said horses so this is the worst of both worlds as the current faulty ones remain until they're phased out and not replaced. As for the incident I personally don't think much of it, cars kill more people so while tragic. I don't get it too much.

Horses were a favorite topic of my pubescent porn searches but that was just gooner activity. All of that got replaced by pure pony love for well over a decade, to the exclusion of everything else. This year I was searching for and collecting anatomically correct references since callista is down and suddenly in just a day or two I became just completely overwhelmingly smitten by the beauty of the equine form. It's impossible to describe the effect they have over me. It's only a matter of time until I fall into their orbit IRL and then I will have no choice but to offer them my minerals.

It's part of urination but they also do it when they are in heat, though in heat it will be more exaggerated. Having spent a lot of time around horses, they will almost never do it to humans unless they have some sort of neurologic problem.

Most mammals, and indeed animals in general, when given the opportunity, will show remarkable forms of cleverness and intelligence. You only need to work with them for a bit. Even fish have been seen to respond to different forms of play. Maybe it's not purely for enjoyment as we'd understand it, but it's some kind of unique reaction, and that counts for something.

They will almost always show remarkable signs of stupidity as well; but really, both of these traits don't differ from humans at all. Mob mentality being a big parallel.

People pretend animals are stupid to justify mistreating them. People would be more upset at feedlots if people saw cows as "big dogs" and not "stupid meat boxes."

Even insects can socialize and play, it's just a lot harder to communicate.

Sometimes I like to lightly bite my mare. Especially when I'm feeling her meaty legs, when I see her muscles bulge, or feel the give of her neck/main scruff in my hands. I chew the forbidden coconut cuttings sometimes, I feel the texture of her hair on my tongue, I taste the alfalfa on her skin, I leave my saliva on her snout, and I go in for a big soft chomp of her hamstrings, withers, or biceps. One day very very far away from now, when she has passed I actually do want to swallow a chunk. Is this wrong?

I make an unconscious horse noise apparently. My lab assistant tells me when I make it and today a stranger said "sounds like a horse is in here". I wish I knew what it was.
    >>
    >>5171627
You probably sigh noticeably, you might even trill your lips at the end of them, in a sort of comical and overexaggerated manner. The fact that you are unaware of the noise and they mention it to you means that they are quietly complaining about your lack of social graces and expecting you to understand the implication. This either means that you are very autistic or they are.
    >>
    >>5171639
They don't complain. They just say "there's a horse in here" or something to that effect. I'm going to leave the cameras on in my house and see if I do it.

some mares have low hanging teets as a result of having a foal and can actually be mistaken for a sheath at glance. It rather famously happened to Free Spirit Equestria. That being said, the horse in the webm looks kinda masculine so I wouldn't be surprised if it's a gelding.

Just get real close to their fur and take a big sniff. If you smell mareomones, it's a female horse. If you don't smell mareomones, it's a male horse. If you taste metal then you've inhaled a lungful of horse spores and have only somewhere between one day and seventy years left to live.
