primates are so cool in general. how can you not look at them and see your own roots as a primate yourself. more people need to understand we are animals, just a little smarter, humans aren't that special outside advance intelligence

    >>
    >>5159756
How are these guys so gentle? He's clearly pissed off at the macaque and yet he only shoos it away instead of ripping it apart. I swear pongos are too good for this world
    >>
    >>5159975
if he wanted to eat it, there would be nothing to stop him
pongos can be just as brutal as chimps if it means extra calories from a small mammal
I like to think they hesitate with fellow primates since they 'see themselves' in them and by extension, will extend the same rules of combat they have amongst themselves to other primates
    - avoid conflict if possible
    - if conflict is unavoidable, make your opponent back down first
    - if they won't back down, hurt them until they leave
    - if they refuse to leave, go for the kill
big man knew he didn't have to go whole hog to get monkey boy to back off

Was at the Philly Zoo this past Monday. Sugi (adult male), Tua (adult female), and Jambi (2 year old boy) were all out (they rotate with the gibbons who were inside the primate house). I may have accidentally forgotten to get a photograph of Tua, though she's cut off in one of the ones I took of Jambi.

They do a better job of it than most of the blacks do where I live. If that baby orangutan was raised by any of the number of black women I've seen in my area over the past two decades, it would already be cursing teachers, acting out all the time, and running the streets.

    realistically? not a whole lot
ideally: force Indonesia to transition to a service economy so that their cash crop of choice becomes unsustainable to produce
or just talk one of the world's billionaire weenies into buying borneo and sumatra and evict all the dayaks
