i believe he's mocking gullible bigfootuber Bob Gymlan who recently posted a video revealing, like many marks, also believes in UFO disclosure, the scientist murder conspiracy, free energy, etc.
people who believe in one stupid conspiracy usually believe in all of them.

(bigfoot is cool but if he is real, he's an interdimensional entity of some kind, /x/, not /an/)

    >Trey the Explainer makes a video saying that Bigfoot can't be real because Native American's viewed whatever creature they were seeing as a Spirit and not a full blown animal
    >People try to use this as a slam dunk in arguments now
There are better ways to argue that Bigfoot isn't real but he's got people insisting on using an arguing point that doesn't work when you consider that other animals were considered spirits or something similar in the past before
    Thanks Trey

    > (The boqs) somewhat resembles a man, its hands especially, and the region around the eyes being distinctly human. It walks on its hind legs, in a stooping posture, its long arms swinging below the knees; in height it is rather less than the average man. The entire body, except the face, is covered with long hair, the growth being most profuse on the chest which is large, corresponding to the great strength of the animal. The most peculiar feature of the animal is its penis, which is so long that it must be rolled up and carried in the arms when the creature is walking; it terrifies its enemies by striking tree-trunks and breaking branches with its uncoiled organ. It is said that a woman was once drawing water at the edge of a stream when a boqs, concealed on the other shore, extended its penis under the water to the further bank and held intercourse with her. The contact rendered her powerless, as if turned to stone; she could neither flee nor remove the organ. Her companions tried unsuccessfully to cut the organ until one of them brought a salalberry leaf, whereupon the monster, dreading its razor-like edge, withdrew.

Bob Gymlan gets out there at times but I remember he made a point once about what near-human/upright primate intelligence might be capable of regarding navigation and avoiding attention and recognizing danger if applied to a different evolutionary trajectory and it made me think.
His video about time-traveling elites going back in time to kill scientists to enable their faction in the far future to defeat their rivals was pretty silly thoughbeit.
    >>
    >>5164560
I find his videos really good if you take them as campfire stories and thought experiments. I don't think one has to believe in bigfoot or the supernatural to enjoy them

    >Argue that certain Cryptids are likely real and Skeptics muddy the waters too much by claiming everything as fake
    >Skeptics get hung up on Bigfoot instead

It shouldn't be this miserable talking about cryptids
    >>
    >>5169535
Sometimes the skeptics come off as bigger schizos than the cryptid believers themselves. Like how they are like 5 totally accurate and 100% real explanations for what the Nessie picture was
    >>
    >>5169555
A lot of skeptics in the Cryptozoology community are just guys treating it like a Circus where they sometimes go to point and laugh at everyone else before claiming they're actually interested in the subject and think the super safe pick, the Thylacine, is still alive
    >>
    >>5169555
the most damning evidence for this pic is the fact that this began showing in uk theatres a few days before the first sighting of nessie
    >>
    >>5169793
Don't get me wrong, i don't believe for a second but, as i said, i find it laughable that people come up with many totally legit explanations for what it is. It can only be one so most are bullshitting
    >>
    >>5169795
    *I don't believe it for a second
    fuck
    >>
    >>5169795
yeah the dead baby elephant explanation is the funniest one for me
    >>
    monke....
    >>
    >>5169795
It's because most Skeptics have no idea what they're looking at either but they're just as unwilling to admit it, so they come up with explanations and theories that almost never match the description of what the supposed witness claimed to see
    >>
    >>5169793
No. Don't fall for that sort of narrative.
That posture was the standard scientific depiction for nearly a century by that point. "Oh but X was in a movie theater at that time" implies that the hoaxer or witness saw the movie, which is a bigger leap in logic that it being a coincidence.
They do the same thing with the first Chupacabra sighting.
    >"Si, senor, scary grey alien with spikes on it!"
    >"THERE WAS AN ALIEN MOVIE CALLED SPECIES IN THAT SAME YEAR! THERE MUST BE A CORRELATION!"
And then you find out the sighting happened in April and the movie came out in like July.
    >>
    >>5170298
the movie came out in the uk shortly before the sighting in this case
    >>
    >>5169798
kek i never heard that one before
    >>
    >>5170298
I never got the species thing because the alien in the movie doesn't even look like the described creature
    >>
    >>5170319
So what? No proof that the hoaxer saw the movie.
It's a non-argument that speaks to the worst kind of skeptic logic. "Humans are incapable of imagining new things, therefore they could only have gotten the idea for a cryptid from existing popular culture."
Bringing up the movie adds nothing, because plesiosaurs were depicted in that manner by scientific literature during that era. It was a standard reconstruction. That's where the hoax's position originated from, not "an obscure movie that nobody saw".
    >>
    >>5170484
I'n with you, but an obscure movie? Nigga that's King Kong.
    >>
    >>5164560
Bob makes compelling bigfoot videos and introduced me to the gorilla-style quad-runner bigfoot theory, but it does undermine cases where bigfeets run without dropping into monkey mode.

The fact that he didn't mention that woman was repeating the plot to The Time Machine annoyed me. The fun thing about bigfoot is you can kinda get as outlandish as you want and can't prove any of it isn't true. Also dislike that he once uploaded a fictional story he wrote and passed it off as real, hallucinates monsters and saw ghosts.
    >>
    >Skeptics get uppity when anyone tries to scrutinize Finding Bigfoot
I'm not gonna argue whether the PGF is real or not, I just think showing up to a con to slyly get an old man who has bad hearing and is currently pushing 100 to say "yes" to everything you ask, is a really scummy way to say "He admitted to it!" and pass it off as legit
    >>
    >>5171201
    >he once uploaded a fictional story he wrote and passed it off as real
    Which one was it?
    >>
    >>5171234
Something not about bigfoot, can't remember now. Not sure if it's still up, I recall him apologising for it.
    >>
    >>5171201
Bob should stick to Bigfoot videos. Whenever he tries straying away from Bigfoot you realize that the dudes unironically crazy
I his crazy is what allows him to make good Bigfoot videos because he's far interested in the mechanism of how a genuine ape species like that would work. Like it's obvious he's repeatedly gotten into arguments about it and had to work a good counterargument instead of taking the easy "Interdimensional" route some people insist on
Like how he has to remind people that pictures taken from an iphone suck most of the time or that Bigfoots probably aren't 7ft tall giants, they're just brawny and that's going to play a factor in the recounting based off memory
    >>
    >>5171428

    >Bigfoots probably aren't 7ft tall giants, they're just brawny and that's going to play a factor in the recounting based off memory
I never thought of that but that's probably right. People are always surprised when i tell them gorillas are bellow 6ft on average and tell me they thought they were 7-8ft tall
