    Are half-lop bunnies a thing.
    >>
    dios mio.... el conejo flanders...
    >>
    >>5157894
Sort of. Lops have varying degrees of control over their ears. The show quality ones are giga smashed and slammed and will not have any control (that is something those retarded judges actually look for). Normal ones will, so if the bun is surprised, the ears go up. Often they have a stronger or preferential ear or one that developed (strength) faster so one is up more often than the other. Note that as they age, this can change. My last holland lop often had a half lop when she was < 2 years old, but after that it seemingly went away and eventually she just stopped raising her ears all together at 5+ years.
Then there's torticollis caused by Encephalitozoon cuniculi, which is really bad. If your bun survives, it could stabilize but still have a permanent disability of a head tilt, and very mild cases may result in a half-lop.

As I've grown older and wiser I've come to hate dogs and cats more and love bunnies more. I've seen the light. Dogs are loud, annoying retards that bother everyone around them and both dogs and cats make constant messes around them. Bunnies have dry waste and learn how to use litterboxes, and they are QUIET and well behaved animals.

not in my experience. I don't live in an apartment though. Untrained loud dogs are annoying as hell though.
    >>
    >>5164998
You're not wrong. That's why I personally prefer rabbits over cats and dogs, well that, and because I'm vegan so they eat what I eat.
    >>
    >>5164998
Very feminine and soulless. We should have known the rabbit thread was hiding some bad apples like console warriors and vegans.
    >>
    >>5165063
Sorry not sorry. I'm old enough now that I absolutely refuse to add any more stress or effort to my life. cats and dogs are also aggressive and attack people but bunnies don't. Bunnies are nonvocal, they are orderly, they behave, they don't bother anybody. Also bunnies aren't on the list of pets that cops kill.
    >>
    >>5165196
Idk man my dog doesn't attack people and I have perfect conscious control of my perception so I can hallucinate all five senses at will and simply decide not to be bothered by barking

My dog also won't be shot by the cops because I had the sheriff over for dinner and he likes her very much. Also, I don't break the law.

Maybe you should try achieving enlightenment

I always thought reddit spacing was putting an extra space after the reply since that is the convention of replying on reddit where you got to have a double new line to start a paragraph after the reply. Like this post. But also it's a retarded because sometimes people just make typos or press enter twice or something and just don't care that it might seem like "reddit spacing"

Went to a local 4H event this past weekend. They had a rabbit judging competition. I didnt think the rabbits were being mistreated at all, but it was different to see how they were handled and examined more like farm animals rather than pets. Also, all rabbits deserve blue ribbons IMO.

You can shear them so they have short hair during the summer, but really you should just get short hair buns. Otherwise you are prioritizing vanity over the welfare of your potential pets, and that's a pretty shitty way to start things. Also, even if you do have every intention of shearing them, as the years go by, you may get lazier about it each year and not keep up as much as you should.

I thought it was really real for a second, then I noticed it was walking more like a cat than the way a bunny moves. AI was trained mainly on cat videos, so artifacts such as this are obvious tells.

Being bigger than a building didn't tip you off?
    >>
    >>5169729
It could have been filmed with forced perspective camera trickery, or using model buildings. The movie "Night of the Lepus" did this to make real rabbits look huge. For me, the obvious giveaway was the AI cat feet.

Is it true that rabbits and other rodents like rats can only be litter trained for poop but not pee?

I think we can all agree buns are the best

Yeah just too bad they are liable to spontaneously die of GI stasis if you leave them alone for more than 8 hours.

No. Wherever or whomever you heard that from is retarded.
Rabbits like to poop and pee in the same place. Litter training is as easy as observing what area they like to poop, then putting a litter box there. That's it. Once they get used to it, you can move the litter box and they'll go to the new location as well, assuming it's not a really uncomfortable place for them. I've used this technique on multiple buns of various breeds. Works every time.
The biggest issues with buns and cleanliness is:
    1) YOU have to keep their area clean. If you don't regularly change out their litter box and do normal maintenance, they will not want to poop and pee there and the poop/pee zone will start to grow or just straight up go to another location.
    2) Stray balls of poop happens. It varies between breeds. My Holland Lop for instance had short hair and had almost no stray poops. My Lionhead however has very long hair so there's a bit more stray poop.

One issue some buns may have is that if they are not neutered/spayed, they may mark their territory. I've only heard this anecdotally though. I've never experienced it myself.

Bunnies, taxonomically speaking, are not of the order rodentia but rather lagomorpha.

Is there some sort of natural repellant for rabbits?
We have 2 bunnies in semi-freedom in a large area, including under furniture, that are closed off with wooden plinths. Except they tend to eat and scratch at these plinths, which is quite annoying, and eventually they'll manage to break one.
So I'm looking for something I could coat the plinths with (or replace them), which the bunnies wouldn't want to to touch, but wouldn't mind to be just a few cm from.

Back prior to owning buns, I did some research on this. Apparently, normal ass bar soap works. I imagine you'd want to use the most natural, undyed, unscented stuff. Some people microwaved the soap a bit to soften it before applying.
I never actually tried it though. My current buns are unusually well behaved about chewing stuff. They mostly hang out in my office room (as I work full time remotely and am there a lot) and there are cables all over the place and not a single one is chewed, nor are any of the floor boards.
However they will absolutely fuck up my wife's shoes given the chance, and only her shoes.

It's my Puff Bunny. She's my little lady.

Lately she's been having issues with her left eye which have me concerned. Persistent tearing and some mild irritation redness around her eyelid. Been to the vet several times. Been giving her eyedrops for three weeks with no obvious charges. She been blind with cataracts or something in that eye for years, but this Wednesday around her eye only started in September.
