I was scared in the first few episodes of Another.
Creepy unexplained atmosphere. Hospital Elevators and Doors opening on their own for some Ghost. A plot with some Creepy Girl who seemed to be a porcelain doll brought to life to replace some dead child offscreen.

Then midway it completely 180d.
There is no Ghost killing and stalking people, it’s literally just Final Destination bad luck.
After this is explained it turns into Looney Tunes scenes like an Excavator rolling down a hill and busting through a house wall and crushing some kid while he faps in his room. Takes place in the day more often too.
And lastly the Girl is revealed to be a complete waifu woobie.
She’s not a Doll, her Mom just lives above a Doll shop.
There’s nothing supernatural at all about her, it’s all explained in innocent ways, and the other kids just ostracise her cause she’s emo.
Protag becomes her first friend and she suddenly clings to him and wants to have sleepovers and Scooby Doo the plot together.
She becomes his love interest and from that point on she’s basically Rikka Takanashi.
