Ayanokoji honestly works better as a girl, and the other girl should've been a guy desu. As it stands it's just another "easygoing girl x insecure dork" formula we've been having for 30 years atp

Episode 1 of Polar Opposites felt like the kind of thing you'd see parodied by Pop Team Epic before Popuko tore the frame in half. The subsequent episodes had to work hard to make an impression past that, but the show still feels pretty light save for the anxiety-laden girl and OP's pic once their arc got underway. It's more a series about teenagers reflecting on themselves and confronting their mental narratives in their own minds.
