Johnny's stand always shows up or evolves in fights that make him into more of a man. Ringo's ideology is prevalent throughout the story if you really look.Its not just that "hardship makes you stronger" or whateverRingo himself was a very sickly weak child, his skin was like paper, and even as an adult he shakes all the time going into fights, but the first time he killed someone to save himself, his diseases all cleared up, his deformity healed, there's a large mental aspect to what people are going through that effects their body which can only be healed when the mind is healed, and the mind can only be healed with conviction and a removal of your doubts. Johnny as well went through something similar where his legs twitched when he showed conviction, and as he became more of a man he could start to move them again. It was only after overcoming his greatest enemy that he could find it in himself to walk again, thus proving what Ringo said.
