>>291960952Not really, it was recognized that those fighters were not strong enough to beat Akainu, strength always mattered, Blackbeard even mentions to Luffy that his haki had become stronger since they last met after punching him in Impel Down, and that Whitebeard was too old to properly use his haki.It's an issue of scale and commonality not necessarily retconning, it was established early and left vague intentionally.I still don't like how haki became the end all be all.

I've read the One Piece manga and I don't even remember when the Haki was introduced. This thing came from nowhere and was never clearly explained. But you look at the normie fanbase and they talk about it everydays.I have issues to believe those normies read or watched this story since the beginning.
