I'm finally getting around to watching this gem. The characters are endearing and it's funny as hell, I can see why it's an /a/ classic.
>>
Fact: Bushiroad produces the best anime originals.

Shame all the milky holmes posters participated in a mass suicide pact so there’s no real fans left to talk about it.
>>
>>291956888
Bold of you assuming neo /a/ knows what even is this show
>>
>>291956888
It was one of the most popular otaku series in Japan when it aired. The first OP is a classic, but I could never get past the character designs.

Both of the seasons of this are so good.
>>
>>291956888
First 2 seasons are good, then everything until the final movie is pretty bad but if you want to get all the references you'll have to watch it
>>
>>
I liked Futari Wa but it should have been more detective work and less milkies. Maybe full episodes and playing everything straight.
>>
>>291956888
As >>291960120 said, the first couple of seasons are good. The unserious nature, the retarded comedy aspect. They lose it from Futari onwards though.
Also, Cordelia's VA also does Tomoko, believe it or not. We were talking about her just yesterday here >>291946689
>>
I watched the first episode a decade ago and didn't like it. Maybe I'll try again

filtered low IQ retard don't even bother go watch dubbed Jujutsu Kaisen on netflix
>>
Most people will never know that Milky Holmes is a postmodern masterpiece
>>
>>291964325
The first two episodes are weak since they haven't leaned into the humor yet and try to play the inherently ridiculous premise for drama. Episode 3 or 4 is where the signature madness of Milky Holmes truly gets started.

>then everything until the final movie is pretty bad
This is the biggest meme going, like the people who pretend that everything after season 1 of Osomatsu-kun is bad. All of Milky Holmes is worth watching.

I love milky holmes

Everything has to be KLK these days or /a/ throws a fit.
>>
>>291964325
It gets more goofy as the show progresses. iirc the first few eps were just establishing the chars and not really that memorable.

Not the compliment you think it is.

I disagree, the first episode sets the tone for what's to follow really well and was one of the most memorable season premieres for me, because the milkies being subjected to such merciless slapstick came totally out of left field. What's true, however, is that the second season somehow doubled down and truly was even more deranged and goofy than the first. Presumably because the staff learned exactly the right lesson from season 1.

I've always hated S2 and onwards. In S1 the girls never lost their "Let's get our powers back" goal but they immediately forgey about it in S2 and that kills the charm for me.
>>
>>291956888
Love the milkys
>>
>>291956888
fucking dog shit series, but I enjoy the purple one.
>>
>>291956888
Yeah, Hyouka is pretty great. Surprised it took you this long.
>>
>>291956888
This is really good, the type of good you eventually say "why is this so good!?"
>>
>>291973075
S2 is less sharocentric which is why I found it better.
>>
>>291970672
Futari is horrid, but TD was a decent step in the right direction even if the idolshit was obviously forced into it by some clueless executive. The standalone special episodes are good, too.

Kino series, and I enjoy the purple one
