Just got done with season 2. I think it didn't reach the emotional heights of season 1 and overall it wasn't as perfectly cohesive of a story, but honestly that's a high bar to clear. Was still very good. The visuals and directing were very inspired, and i like that it ended on a less depressing note. Also, Capri turning into the Cdproject Red logo in the final episode was cute, reminded me of Luluco's final episode. Good show overall.

The use of contrast/lighting and the freestyle animation used with D was fun, and the film segments were really clever. Also King was probably my favorite character, especially with how he manages to pull himself back from total hopelessness and never stops trying to make a better future for Talia. I loved the cliche of him having to pull his coat and move on towards the future.

This is an issue I have with the game's dialogue as well, but why do characters almost never refer to themselves when describing an action they've taken? >>291956048I think it's due to the Japanese influence, not because it's an anime but actually in universe. Since NC is such a melting pot, in the TTRPG "streetslang" is treated as it's own language. Really, characters on the street should be throwing in random words in Japanese, Spanish, Creole, and whatever else in addition to all the made-up slang like choom and gonk. But that's a pain in the ass for the audience and a pain in the ass for the writers. My assumption is that a slightly more Japanese sentence structure is a part of that influence that's easier to write.
