super-moe girls going on wacky adventures was a vibe. We need a comeback!!! Some examples of those type of series:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nYtXQjzavcEhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bU0oksVhYs8https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ugn9viMu928https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fXz96phV0sYhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yfDoo2zE81c
Gals fan here. I wouldnt classify Gals as anywhere near that. First ep has her try to convince her 14 year old friend to not sell her virginity to a salary man for money. Its not wacky adventures. Its about school era life lessons with a comical tweest
>>291933816>Its about school era life lessons with a comical tweestThat sounds like wacky adventures. And Translations for the sequel when? New Anime when? https://mangadex.org/title/5f9be6c8-08e8-469d-92e7-7bf23315c415/gals

>>291934519Thanks?
>>291933628Hate to break it to you but these aren't "moe anime", these are mostly shoujo anime aimed at little girls. The first proper moe anime (as in, stuff that were moe AFTER moe was coined) were stuff like Idol Project, To Heart, Pia Carrot, Magic User's Clubhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hX0TozjEZKAhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oXp7zWGsHWUhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dp4AwAR20T4https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AbViuoDydoMI know Martian Successor Nadesico also advertised itself as a moe anime (making it one of the first to call itself that) but I wouldn't really call it a moe anime by today's standards.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XphjF-fHZkM
>>291934631>Martian Successor NadesicoTo this day I don't understand how the movie happens
>>291933628Does Ichigo mashimaro count? It's one of my favs and an /a/ classic.
>>291933628>>291934631And the moe equivalents of the pre-moe (pre-1993) era weren't shoujo at all either. There were fucking loads of OVAs aimed at teenage and adult males in the 80s about cute girls that could be considered moe retroactively.
>>291934631>>291934672But do they go into wacky adventures?
>>291934605No
>>291934631People need to understand that there's a huge distinction between early moe anime and cute shoujo anime with a male audienceMoe was literally coined in the wake of the lolicon boom like a lizard cutting its tail over the "lolicon scare" and largely pioneered by eroge/gal games in the late 80s and early 90s and comedy/ecchi/SoL OVAs in the 90s, it was only really at some point in the 2000s that moe became some nebulous, subjective word about attraction. They're completely different things
>>291933628Cute OP
>>291934665Yes. This show is peak. I miss 2000s slice of life anime so much. The 2000s to 2010s was the golden age of anime
>>291936683>Cute OPWatch the Anime, is a fever dream
I really like her show
>>291938341Okey dokey teto te
>>291933628God I'm glad anime went mainstream and moetroons are pandered less and less day by day.
>>291939345OP, if you really wanted people to respond to your thread you could have kept it alive with more links instead of just ragebaiting.
>>291933628What, no mention of Galaxy Fraulein Yuna?>>291934631>To Heart, Pia Carrot, Idol ProjectFunny, you try to bring any of those up in a retrofag thread and the crowd there simply brushes it off as slop.
>>291939563Nobody brushes off To Heart man, it's a beloved classic and considered by some people to be one of the best SoL/visual novel adaptions ever.
>>291934631>but these aren't "moe anime", these are mostly shoujo anime aimed at little girls.>>291934818>there's a huge distinction between early moe anime and cute shoujo anime with a male audiencemoe literally came from sailor moon
>>291939878No it fucking didn't. I'm tired of this retarded myth and this retarded myth only gained traction in the West. Hotaru is almost never, if at all, actually referred to by her last name, Tomoe, where this myth supposes the word moe came from. You people only think it does because 1. You're parrots2. Hotaru was a really popular "early moe" character so it gives credence to this myth. The most believable source of the word moe came from Otaking (Toshio Okada), co-founder of Gainax. He didn't invent it and Gainax doesn't have anything to really do with it, but he recalls that the word moe originated from the anime Kyouryuu Wakusei. Particularly the female lead, named Moe-chan. She was popular with online lolicons/otaku in the mid-90s on random Japanese messageboards/BBSes, and just repeating/shouting out her name became a meme because the male lead of Kyouryuu Wakusei used to shout "Moe~" over every little thing having to do with the female lead and it became a word of endearment in online circles.Sailor Moon didn't have anything to fucking do with it.
>>291939590I mean they literally did last time I brought it up. >>291940127Incidentally, I read the Japanese article on moe just yesterday and it goes over why Toshio Okada's Kyokuryuu Wakusei theory was complete bullshit
>>291940169The truth is nobody really knows where moe came from. The Kyokuryuu Wakusei is just the most believable. This is from Lemon Angel (a Cream Lemon spinoff) in 1989.
>>291940127>>291940169>>291940240It's probably more believable to say that moe was coined in some late 80s or early 90s loli magazine or an eroge/hentai/doujin that's lost to time.
>>291933628The sun has a face on it. Children will be compelled to stare directly into the sun to see if it is smiling. This show is dumb and harmful.
>>291933628Something tells me I would have loved these if I knew they existed back in my CGDCT period.
>>291938500Happy Dance!
>>291937407I'll put it on my list.>>291938341I haven't seen all of it but what I saw was adorable.
>>291934672if the pic you posted were from an 80s anime, you'd act like it was classic, but it's from 1990truth isthere weren't any anime that looked like anime before 宇宙家族カールビンソン, which itself really sucks
>>291937407Surreal fever dream or funny fever dream?
