This scene showed very clearly that Nina was handed a weighted metal core wooden training sword. Nina didnt expect it when she stood up to fight, but she did accept the sword regardless even after knowing immediately its weight was wrong. She smashed through Eris' sword easily and was ready to follow through. But Eris can fight just fine without a weapon.
If Nina had won, that would be Eris on the floor covered in cuts and bruises.

It took a moment for anyone to intervene because they all knew Nina was guilty. Had it coming if she was going to lose. Honestly Eris could have easily killed her and gotten away with it.
