>Actual distant future post-apocalyptic science fiction romance, kind of rapechaddy, okay, sign me up.>Rapechad has the most faggy haircut known to man but we roll with it.>Entire romance is kind of dumb and incredulous but whatever because it turns out the post-apocalyptic science fiction plot is actually really good>Everything feels planned from the start>Actually pulls off the “We met a long time ago as children and I've loved you ever since” bullcrap trope off in a satisfying way because it actually ties into the plot and was foreshadowed really well with multiple other things>Actually builds up to a really good ending and a climactic final battle>And then it just ends with this bullshit "Everyone survives, all bad guys are forgiven and get redemption out of nowhere, medetasi medetasi crap”What is up with Japan and its recent lust for fangless endings? Older things were completely fine with people dying and even Attack on Titan felt like the editor probably forced a watered down version of the truly grimdark ending Isayama had planned. It keeps happening over and over again that artists that used to be fine with impactful tragic endings make their next work feel so inconclusive with everything just resolving itself and no stakes nor losses.
Is this a rule63 of Saikano?
>>291925466Reading the synopsis of that, no. How this unfolds is basically>Post apocalyptic society after the “End War” 4 000 years ago society still hasn't recovered at all despite being far more advanced than today, people are in a weird situation that they rely on technology before the war but they don't understand it, so if it break, it often can't be repaired so it's super valuable and scarce>Joshua, the protagonist, is basically that city state's foremost expert on robotics and ancient technology, as in understands it less poorly than everyone else>Heads to some desert place to find some parts to try to fix something>Discovers a humanoid super weapon there, the legendary guardwing that caused the End War to end 400 years back that has since gone missing>Superweapon robot seems awfully friendly and rapey towards protagonist right away though also seemingly having the mind of a child and not understanding the modern world and has no memories of being the doomsday weaponThat's basically how the plot kickstarts, the only similarity seems to be that someone is an all powerful weapon.>The central conflict revolves around Chise's deteriorating humanity as the weapon system overtakes her physiology. She struggles to reconcile her mechanical enhancements with her human identity, a crisis compounded by her deepening bond with Shuji. This relationship ultimately becomes key to her self-acceptance. Secondary narratives explore civilian experiences during wartime, including military spouses, enlistees motivated by loved ones, and bombing victims. This seems super interesting though, but that's not here. Guardwing knows he's a robot and is comfortable with that from the start.
>>291925466not really
>>291925079>Rapechad has the most faggy haircutThat looks like a generic normal haircut tho?
tl;dr
>>291926932Well they usually have better haircuts. I'll also say it looks slightly less faggy on the cover. Can't say I like it or the entire character design much. Protagonist has pretty cool design though. I like that their clothes at least look futuristic.
>>291925079That's a lot to read.
>>291931354Fits right in with about anything that runs in Zero Sum, walls and walls of text.
