Having finally finished the anime, I cannot say enough how happy I am that Ryusei Nakao has been able to live enough to voice Mayuri till the end in the last arc. Mayuri has always been my favorite Bleach character, and given how Nakao is already in that age where he can pass away at any moment (he was 71 when the TYBW anime first aired and is now 75 at its ending), I'm so happy he managed to complete his voice acting in Bleach and give his character a proper conclusion (in the old anime Mayuri appeared in the end credits of the last episode, but it was a voiceless appearance). Honestly, I cannot imagine anyone else voicing Mayuri, and since he's already an elder and this may be the last time he will voice the character, I'm glad he could be with us till the end to see Bleach concluding after so many years. By the time of the epilogue chapter, Karin and Yuzu must have been finally told by Isshin that their mother Masaki was killed by a hollow. Assuming this is true, what is stopping Karin and Yuzu asking their father, Ichigo, or Urahara for shinigami training in order to protect themselves from hollow attacks? After all, if you were told your mother was killed by a hollow that by default, are immune to bullets and conventional human weapons, wouldn't you want to learn how to protect yourself from hollows lurking in your hometown? Wouldn't it be reckless and selfish of Isshin or Ichigo to even refuse to allow Karin and Yuzu to become shinigami like themselves over some arrogant idea of wanting Karin and Yuzu to remain normal people, despite both of them being half shinigami and half quincy?
