Getting sucked into Shizuka's euphorically sweet abyss from the ultra umai tamagoyaki she made for us to enjoy in her birthday!Never made a tamagoyaki before, I think I did okay, I didn't have a tamagoyaki pan but I was lucky enough to find some As Seen On TV 9.5 inch square pan in good condition at the thrift store for 7 bucks which is close enough, didn't want to try making one in a round pan. Folding is a lot harder than you'd think, nippons truly mastered the craft of folds. In the end, it just tasted like an omelette, I don't know why I expected much different, I mean it did lack dashi powder since I couldn't find any store nearby with it, and I wasn't going to make my own stock. I did put in some s.oy sauce and some sake since I still had plenty from Momoha's bday, but it didn't affect the taste much (though it did kind of give it an oriental-ish aftertaste I guess). Well I guess I can make some sandwiches with this square pan now.Fun fact: Rentarou's seiyuu also plays Kabru in Dungeon Meshi, who also ate tamagoyaki too (albeit begrudgingly). Well I guess it wasn't that fun of a fact.
